  1. Possibly passes while towing a banner? Didn't look at what the plane is
  2. "I've been involved in a number of cults both as a leader and a follower. You have more fun as a follower, but you make more money as a leader" - Creed Bratton
  3. I was going to post about this. I drove by right as the ambulance had arrived and the cops had the shirtless guy handcuffed laying on his back the on the shoulder. Don't recall seeing any other vehicles stopped other than the patrol car and the ambulance. Trying to search for info on that later yesterday evening was futile as all the keywords for searching obviously brought up stories of the shooting and that ordeal
  4. There was a thread about this on here when she went missing. 'Yards away' is not an accurate description.
  5. Some people may read this as tongue and cheek; unfortunately, I fear it's more accurate than not.
  6. Something I've always wondered about regarding the concern of flushing evidence... why not just turn the water off at the street? At most, folks in the house would only have 1 flush available. Additionally, just stick something in the ww clean out or service connection to stop up the waste flow. Just send the utility company out before your ready to execute the warrant. Becomes a little more complex in rural environments with well/ septic (harder to disguise actions), but still seems less of a hassle than the no knock raids.
  7. I had stumbled across some examples common core math problems a while back. Looking at the solutions, I did get the impression that it was somewhat related to number sense, with regards to how you visualize the problem. My opinion is that it's probably a worthwhile means of teaching younger generations; appears to involve a little more critical thought, and I'd be willing to bet it is a more efficient method for cementing concepts. Now that said, the critical thought part is a two way street. Teachers (and administrators) who get their drawers in a wad because Johnny and Suzy didn't solve the problem using one particular method, they can bent
  8. From the snapshot there, it reads like he's already been charged for murder in the family's home county. The other county is weighing whether it's worth their resources to file lesser charges
  9. I had to read that for my freshman geography class and write a paper about it. Looking back on it, reading that really changed a lot of my worldview. Definitely challenged a lot of the notions I had at the time as far as who is 'correct' in terms of political positioning/debate.
  10. The city has approximately 166 million gallons of treated water shortage per tceq's drinking water watch database. Assuming. Assuming a 15 mgd deficit between treated water demand and production rates, storage would be depleted in 11 days. Now, storage probably wasn't full when this all started. If we're conservative and say storage was at 50% percent, then it would have been 5-6 days. Obviously these are simplistic estimates as the system is more complex with regards to hydraulic interconnectivity. We would be boiling water no matter what because the treatment is sub par. However, it looks like they may have managed it pretty well with regards to physically having water at the faucet.
  11. What likely happened was that the system operators recognized the deficit sooner, but they figured they could modify their treatment process to match demand before storage was drained. They probably eventually hit a point where they recognized they weren't going to be able to meet demand after making modifications, so they put out the notice. I know a lot of folks, myself included, like to dump on CoA quite a bit, and most of the time it's well deserved. But to frame this as some kind of conspiracy is pretty tinfoil/loony. Now, the management decisions prior to this event that have put the water system in this situation, those are definitely open to rightful criticism.
  12. The comment coupled with the situation and the added bonus that it's Ozarka in the bed really cracked me up. Hat tip to you

  14. Just a quick clarification, the reservoir volume is only about 45,000 acre feet; they intend to cycle the reservoir twice a year, yielding 90,000 acre feet.
  15. No worries; the comedic value of the rehire being made within a month of Patterson getting canned made an imprint in my memory
  16. ? Bianco was rehired after start of season 2015.
  17. Was thinking the same. Looks like the north part of the Austin area is about to get some heavy showers.
