  1. THEY ARE STILL SCRIMMAGING?! Will Herman ever learn his lesson? Those boys could get hurt out there!
  2. Other observations: - Khalil Tate at 10 is putting a lot of faith in him bouncing back from last season. - JT Daniels doesn't appear to be the guaranteed starter at USC. - Jarren Williams who beat out Tate Martell is at 77. - Notable transfers include Brandon Wimbush (UCF) at 64, Zach Smith (Tulsa) at 57, and Kelly Bryant (Mizzou) at 29. Bryant should be a good fit for Missouri's offense.
  3. Interesting list for sure. I wonder if they will produce a list after this season to compare with. There's definitely a drop in talent in the Big 12 this year, but half of our league is in the top 26. I wouldn't be surprised to see Thomas Macvittie and Austin Kendall finish quite a bit higher. LA Tech's J'Mar Smith would be 6th in the Big 12. Based on some other things I've seen from PFF, LA Tech appears to have some talented players. Given our recent opening day struggles, I am wary to expect a blow out.
  4. I saw one of the midget running backs do something in those highlights which is quantifiable better than nothing.
  5. I'm going to wait until we find out the time table for their returns before I panic, but we really need these guys healthy.
  6. A handful of wildcat carries/play #8s a game may be the answer. Unfortunately, I think he really needs a redshirt season.
  7. Hoofkin, Jones, and Okafor (yikes)
  8. I have very fond memories of visiting colleges as a recruit. You have to remember, these are high schoolers getting an opportunity to be on a college campus, get treated like royalty, and hang out with college athletes and women. I am in no way shocked or worried that the Brockermeyers want to visit several prominent universities while they get the chance.
  9. This season is Johnson and Duvernay's shot at impressing NFL scouts. I fully expect them to be locked in.
  10. Josh Moore and Whittington should get plenty of opportunities in the slot as well, but we cannot telegraph our intentions with Duvernay by only putting him in for deep routes. For the corners, reading between the lines, it seems like Jamison has the athleticism and aggressiveness that the coaches are looking for. I would be surprised if his technique is as solid as Cook's given his stint at WR last year, but he is obviously polished enough to be considered for the starting role. Things will play themselves out over the coming weeks and I trust Orlando and Herman to make the right personnel decisions.
  11. The offense has potential to beat people is so many ways. All the pieces just need to come together and the play calling will need to be more consistent than last year.
  12. Shows how much I've paid attention.
  13. Excellent choice for a 3* DL IMO. I don't know if their coaching staff has remained consistent, but they have developed some good lineman in recent years.
  14. Hopefully, with our fantastic safeties, Orlando will put more responsibilities on their shoulders on obvious passing downs and just allow our talented young corners to focus on executing a more simple assignment. However, I am not a coach so I don't really know how practical that is.
  15. Who is over Ingram's left shoulder? Dude looks no taller than Kevin Hart.
  16. I remember MB not getting tackled once for at least the first 5 minutes of his highlights. The players who were fast enough to catch him were not strong enough to bring him down but could only push him out of bounds at best. He lost that advantage at the college level.
  17. Good points. It makes sense that playing assignments would be based on strengths and mismatches.
  18. It will be interesting to see how things shake out with Green, Cook, and Jamison. All three will be difficult to keep off the field. From what I've read, it seems like Cook and Green are the more polished technicians while Jamison is an all-around great football player who best fits at corner.
  19. Based on this analysis I'm going to assume he's our RB back-up plan. Hook'em Billy!
  20. He's right about what other teams are trying to use against us. Thing is that it isn't proving too effective.
  21. Some schools pay up front for elite recruits. That is known, but probably not as frequent as we imagine. I think that, if anything, some alumni pay for on field performance, which can still play a factor in the recruiting process.
  22. I am not saying that payments do not occur, but all the complaining about another school paying more money for a recruit that doesn't select Texas is getting pretty old. If we wind up landing Bijan and LVB, many other schools' fans will make the same claims about Texas. Maybe my sarcasm- meter needs calibrating.
  23. I don't totally disagree, but I'd rather have a Daniel Young at 3rd string running back than asking a non-Jordan Whittington WR to move to running back in case of injury.
  24. I'm pretty sure landing the top prospects has always been the goal for every team ever. It's just that you have to have secondary options who will at least contribute positively with the potential to excel if everything goes right. Those are "depth guys" who will hopefully be recruited over the next cycle. It's when you start missing on top targets at a specific position for several consecutive cycles that you develop a chronic weakness.
