  1. This watch is pretty awesome. Microbrand which I have taken off 3 times in the last 4 yrs. Shower, bath, river, ocean, pool, hot tub, etc. Very pleased.
  2. Born in the Crazy Water Hotel in Mineral Wells. Spent my bachelor party on the Brazos River.
  3. I've got nice guns, shit guns, and everything in between. Seriously, my 12 ga. Yildiz over under may be my favorite. Affordable, reliable, fairly attractive.
  4. My daughter is featured in this article/video. https://www.dallasobserver.com/arts/women-skateboarders-in-dallas-form-an-above-average-group-11935754
  5. Just got back, and heading down again next week. The restaurant closures sucked, but apparently that changes Friday. Was pretty damn crowded over the weekend around Bob Hall Pier. Someone tell me how/where to fish down there...I'm a fresh water guy and have no clue. I throw shrimp out and get sunburned while my girl gets a tan.
  6. Headed to Denver with the girlfriend early Friday morning and returning Tuesday. 1 or 2 days of hiking will definitely be on the agenda, but looking for any other "must do/see" recommendations. Staying in Golden with a rental car. Any advice appreciated.
  7. Damn, Longboard you must be a real Lion. When the roll is called up yonder...
  8. These other guys know a hell of a lot more than me, but losing my marriage and home kicked me in the ass. Again, I hope it sticks. I am pretty damn focused on changing my life right now.
  9. I feel you brother. I hadn't gone on a sales call or attended a meeting without having some amount of alcohol in my system for years. Thought I was highly functional, but I just finalized my divorce yesterday, am closing on the sell of my beloved home next week, etc. That shit will overtake you mentally, emotionally, and physically. It's almost funny, but the first step I took was posting about my situation on Surly. I obviously have a long way to go, but I have lost 10 freaking pounds already. I haven't been worried about getting pulled over in a few weeks. Shit I feel awesome right now. Just hope it's permanent. I also talked to some friends who have cleaned up and "confessed" to them which seemed to help.
  10. I have slowed WAY down since I posted on this thread earlier. I walked into the convenience store this morning to buy a can of Copenhagen (something else I need to stop) and instinctively walked straight to the beer cooler. I don't really have any cravings thankfully which I am shocked about, but it made me feel kind of pathetic that I had trained myself to head to the beer without even thinking about it. Glad I turned around.
  11. Pretty good. Hanging in there.
  12. Interesting thread. I had a six pack (abs) at 40 with a hot wife, successful company, and beautiful kids. At 50 I have gained 70 lbs, am divorcing because my wife doesn't want to hang around any more, and am selling my house due to the divorce. I drink every damn day and look and feel like shit. I would double my pay if I didn't drink. I'm going to try to do something tomorrow because I'm already several drinks in...but actually motivated not to have any more tonight.
  13. We definitely have some things in common. Played 88-91. LCF donor. Win this weekend and it's on.
  14. After wins we sing "When the Roll is Called up Yonder", not Turn Out the Lights...one of the best traditions in college football. Carthel did not start that. It has been going on since Ernest Hawkins.
  15. Jerry Morris was a friend of mine. East Texas A&M was the overwhelming favorite. The jackasses in CS made the decision to name it TAMU-C. Always ETSU to me.
  16. Played at ET (Commerce). Played against Bailey, Sherman, Randle, etc. Beat their asses 3 out 4 years. If ET had a little more offense they would go back to back. Defense is legit. If they can get by Tarleton they may do it again, but TSU is tough.
  17. Why would Cameron Rising want to take defenders on mustache rides?
  18. Second half of last year's UCLA-aggy was a pretty memorable blowout.
  19. That's how you do it right there. Had a great lasagna and caprese, but would have traded that for a steak at the lease in a heartbeat.
  20. I was there that night too. Started the day off jumping on a bus and delivered to some party/makeshift bar in someone's backyard. Was in the same club as he was later that night.
  21. Irving High. You guys beat us 52-21 I think. Also, I think you had another really good pitcher...Moskrey maybe?
  22. We must have played against each other in football and baseball. I can't believe Duncanville didn't win state in 86. We played Plano too, and Dville easily had the better athletes. Foster was a beast. David Neid was great and almost untouchable in baseball. In college played against Johnny Bailey, Heath Sherman, John Randle (NFL HOF), Pierce Holt, Eric Lynch, and with about 10-12 guys who at least had a cup of coffee in the league...including Curtis Buckley one of the biggest hitters in the NFL through the 90's.
