  1. I feel like this is absolutely the dumbest timeline. A random tweet has Ewers wanting to stay another year, being told by Sark that we are going with Manning next year, and then putting feelers out there for transfers. Someone actually believes this shit?
  2. Who is going to stop them? The Legislative Branch? The Supreme Court? The military? Law Enforcement at either the federal or state level?
  3. It's not like Quinn did anything during the last Texas home game of the year to indicate he was leaving for the draft or anything.... But I am sure the feedback he got after that last Texas home game and today by NFL scouts is going to make him return or portal. OK
  4. It's OU. I doubt it. They aren't the sharpest tool in the box.
  5. I think I am at an 11 now.
  6. Every prediction so far I see people picking Texas. GA comes here and wins and defensively physically dominates. Now they have essentially a home game and we are favored and the various analysts making predictions so far favor Texas. Kirby should have no problem motivating his team again this weekend.
  7. He was everywhere in terms of turnovers last year. No doubt about that. It may have just been a feeling at the time, but it seemed like some of the bigger passing plays we gave up last year he was a step or two slow coming over from safety on the play. It seems obvious I think this year that it was the improved CB play and improved edge/overall rush that was the problem and not him.
  8. There are a lot of moving parts though so it could be anyone.
  9. I was one of the people who I am sure in one or two threads last year questioned whether one of the reasons our secondary struggled last year was in part due to him. I mean it's easy to blame the former walk-on instead of other more highly touted recruits or some issues with scheme or coaching. Clearly this year his performance on the field and our secondary's overall performance shows that hot take last year was pure garbage. What he has done one and off the field this year has turned him quietly into one of my favorite players on the roster this year and one of my favorite players of all time.

  12. Stop the vote. No cloak room.
  13. Maybe a family member couldn't make it. Maybe he sent everything in to sark and rhey agreed to hold it so he could do an announcement Wednesday with said family member. Who knows? But not great I think is the correct answer.
  14. Ffuck yeah. Great start.
  15. 1. I personally lost $100 betting that he wouldn't pardon him. 2. The pardon removes some of the moral high ground Dems have in this situation.
  16. For being a fucking liar about this kind of important topic.
  17. He has made the case all year long that to prevent Thunderdome vote for Kamala (or him in earlier iterations). I completely agree with him on that. To now claim that one has never expected Thunderdome or that it would be this bad so now I need to pardon him seems insincere. Look - I get that I am in the minority on this one. I understand Brisket's point that everything has changed and there are no more rules. I just hold Biden personally accountable for this. It likely also has to do with the fact that I lost a $100 bet I made where I said he wouldn't pardon him.

    Cobra Kai

I mean I get that it is a ridiculous show, but it went even more off the rails than I expected this half-season.
  19. I expressed plenty of outrage with the Flynn/Stone/Manafort bullshit. I also bitched about LIbby. I don't think I know about Toussie, but will now read up on that one. I will lose my absolute shit when the Jan 6 pardons come down. There is no solution. It doesn't change the fact that Biden is a liar and this move (even if you think its warranted for many different reasons) tarnishes his legacy, feeds conspiracy theories, and removes some of the moral high ground Dems might have had previously. They still have way more than Rs and Trump, but a little less than yesterday.
  20. I am as outraged about the Hunter pardon as I am about every fucking abusive Trump pardon that he put together including all those who likely exchanged money, political favor, or whatever they needed to obtain a pardon from Trump. I am also angry that Biden lied to us about it. That work for everyone? Or do we need to be outraged longer?
  21. Just like any free agency in sports - the market is what people are willing to pay. There is usually one idiot willing to overpay because that's the one player they need to win it all or whatever delusions they can create. The fair market rate is never what the idiot is willing to pay. Sure agents will go the following year and claim what idiot paid Player A is now the new market and we want a deal that beats that one, but that is not the market because of the idiot or the claim by the agent. Texas has been a sophisticated purchaser for three years running now. They are well aware of the market for any position/player they have been interested in. Oregon, Aggie, Florida, whomever can always come in last second and try to throw money at their problems. We then have a choice - pay more for that particular player or just pay the market rate for the next kid on the list or the next kid in the portal. We typically always choose the ladder. That doesn't mean Texas is not willing to pay the market rate. Just that it won't overpay out of desperation.
  22. It's a crazy world of NIL and some schools can get stupid. Texas has an organized and disciplined approach to NIL by all accounts. So while we are willing to pay fair market rates, we eventually may reach a point where we are outbid because other schools put a bigger NIL package on the table and we stay disciplined. The good news is that by all accounts bloU and LSU are struggling with raising NIL funds. Aggy though are just two years off of buying the greatest recruiting class of all time. I would think they would then look at their current roster and evaluate the stupidity of that decision, but never underestimate Aggy's ability to Aggy.
  23. I feel confident that Sark can pick and choose whomever he wants out of the portal at WR. Manning at QB. Two years of productive portal results at WR with Bond, Golden, and Mitchell. Throw in Sark's prior results at WR, our offense, UT's NIL commitment, and the results this year. Sark will take whomever he wants at WR in the portal IMHO. The only downside that we might have is that Moore and WIngo are a pretty solid 1-2 punch and if Golden opts to stay than the starting lineup may be considered harder to crack here than other schools which may be much more empty. Who knows whether Moore or Wingo will try to play the NIL game that Worthy tried to play. I doubt they have enough leverage like Worthy did, but it's WR so anything is possible. So I can't see Sark being very interested in Hudson as at WR there usually are bigger fish in the sea.
