  1. Jim Cantore live look special. St. George Island. Brisk 25 mph right now. No rain at least but this is gonna put a damper on the surf shark fishing for the next 48hrs. I’m sure it will be perfect as soon as we’re loading up to leave on Friday.
  2. Looks like they missed the Grace forecast pretty bad. She’s coming for us.
  3. Pretty big change overnight. Looking like it has slowed down quite a bit and going Westward.
  4. Rented a beach house on St. George Island Florida Sunday through Friday. Hope Fred either picks up his pace and gets on through or hooks East and goes through South Fl. As luck would have it, the projected path right now is a fucking bullseye.
  5. Did you do any good? I assume you weren't up that early for a boat ride. I was out of town but my bro stayed at my house and fished all weekend. They didn't fare too well in the am but had some decent stringers late afternoon Saturday.
  6. Took the boy out to cruise the beachfront in search of sharks and bulls. Tried right in front of Pleasure Pier first and caught this old warrior. Notice the love bite on the back end. moved on out a little ways to drift behind a shrimp boat and had a double hookup pretty quick. Mine got off but his stayed hooked for a good 30 minute fight. We kept chasing the shrimper but never got another hookup. Started getting a little bumpy so we headed back in. Good afternoon and the boy got his pb shark so far.
  7. I'm going with a Finetooth. We could tell for sure if we could see the bottom portion of the caudal fin. The finetooth doesn't have a blacktip on that one.
  8. Saturday West Galveston Bay wading with live shrimp. Lots of dink trout but no big girls. Water was prolly a little too fresh with 5 consecutive days of rain. Biggest red went 27”. That was a fun one.
  9. It hasn't been a ton of heavy rain, just a shit load of light rain so I don't think any record inches are being produced.
  10. That sounds like a hell of a day. Kudos.
  11. Late afternoon wade yesterday and awesome sunset.
  12. https://www.chron.com/sports/outdoors/article/Father-son-team-lands-state-record-silver-king-12243649.php The story behind it should help. The dude catches and releases more tarpon than we could ever dream about. They wanted the record and shouldn't be faulted one bit for bringing it in.
  13. Our State record was bigger than that. 229 pounds off Galveston beachfront 2017
  14. My god that was the first thing I thought of except that had to be in the early 2000's when I saw it. Still to this day I don't know if I have some condition that makes those images disturbing to me they way they did. I still can't explain it. I mean, the images themselves are harmless and probably have no effect on most people but it triggers something in my brain that I can't explain. It's good to know I'm the not the only one at least. Okay I answered too soon without reading all the way down. Trypophobia, I'm gonna have to do some reading on that.

  16. Good thread here. May have already been discussed in a Climate Change thread somewhere. His book looks like an interesting read.
  17. Think I found the reason.
  18. Blackberry Smoke at HOB Houston on Friday night was tremendous. Charlie Starr is a way underappreciated musician.
  19. Hard Southwest wind with tea stained water but the solunar calendar had it correct. 3:30-5:30 this afternoon they were feeding good. West Galveston Bay with live shrimp.
  20. Midday special. Buddy only had a couple hours to spare but luckily the fish cooperated with our 1-3pm window. Dodged a couple of storms but ended up a nice day on the water. And mega props to that Rooster. What a fucking beast. I bet those deckhands were pissed chasing that sucker for 4 hours.
  21. Apparently this is the source. Poker game makes sense now. Disclaimer I have no idea if this is him or not but heard through a poker friend it was. https://www.arkansasonline.com/news/2021/may/27/arkansan-charged-in-multimillion-dollar-covid/
  22. Just got back from Caesars. Palace Tower is by far the farthest from the main entrance so VERY long walks back from the Strip etc. However, it is merely feet from the Pool entrance. The line starts forming at 8:30am for the 9:00am opening. By 10:00am chairs will be hard to come by be prepared to empty your bank account if you are drinking. If you don't want to fight the morning crowd, it appeared as though if you waited until about 2 or so, the morning rush of people began to slowly filter out and chairs were easier to find. Hopefully they will have removed the ridiculous mask requirement when not in pool by then. And totally agree on the Strip clientele and smell. I love Vegas for the people watching but it was significantly different this year.
  23. Neither, I was on my deck. They were trout. Never seen them frenzy like that, it was almost piranha-esq. Also hard to catch any when there is that much food in the water 😂
