  1. Very brisk SW wind to 20 in West Gal Bay. Water was ugly but mullet were in and pretty active. 5 reds between 4 of us. All on live skrimps.
  2. Did Oracle really move "corporate" to Austin? That may be old news but I must have missed it. I work with Netsuite a bunch and knew that a lot of their resources are now in Austin but I didn't know they pulled a Tesla.
  3. Current sitch
  4. Chamber of Commerce holiday weekend. Surf has been green to beach for a full week now. Its these type of days that it makes it worth wild (minus the god awful crowds).
  5. Couple of big girls without leaving the house for my son.
  6. Drives me insane. I cant wait until some massive satellite outage and no one leaves their house because they wont know how to get anywhere.
  7. Man I look for them every time I walk around the hood but I still haven’t seen any.
  8. Do you do any snake wrangling down there? I was just thinking about you on my way back down the Intercoastal on Friday. I’m guessing the spoil islands all along the Intercoastal are loaded with rattle bugs. I think you are in the Houston area right? I could take you out there by boat sometime if you would be interested. I’m a novice but I would love to go find a few.
  9. Me and a buddy waded West Bay yesterday about 2-4 trying to hit the solunar feeding period/pre-front daily double. Not as much action as we were expecting. Two other rat reds and a 19” thrown back. Beautiful afternoon in the shallows though. Took me almost 20 minutes to get that red in hand. Hooked on the outer part of the lip so nothing in the mouth/throat to stress her out I guess.
  10. Quick midday limit. Got to sleep in until 9 and still back at the dock before 1.
  11. Saturday evening wade. ‘Twas nice. The red is on the grill as we speak (type).
  12. Its the getting out part that cleanses the soul but you already knew that. I count my blessings that I don’t have to make drives like that anymore when the itch needs to be scratched.
  13. April weather in February. Loving it. Only two bites in an hour and a half but both quality.
  14. Finally nailed this pig who has been evading me for the past week. She and a few friends have been showing up right after dark in the green lights but haven’t been real agressive. Musta been a little hungrier tonight. Looks to be between 27” and 28”. Soon to be grilled 😋.
  15. A little running of the bulls action yesterday afternoon for my son.
  16. Beautiful Sunday evening wade. Water has cooled significantly which is very nice. Love, love, love me some October!
  17. -bump- Heading to Red Rocks at the end of July for Tedeschi Trucks Band. Any new recommendations post-covid?
  18. Me and a buddy with a late evening wade yesterday. Mostly dinks and a few bait stealers but we got these 5. All but one 20+ with the biggest at 23. Beautiful evening after the morning rains.
  19. 3 sharks on 4 cuts of skipjack in about 45 minutes. I forgot to load my damn drink cooler so I didn’t stay long. Another beauty day at the jetties and beyond though.
  20. This is a good recommendation. If you dont want to eat at the bar they might be able to fit you in after a couple of drinks. The wait will be worth it. Some of the best service you will ever see at a restaurant.
  21. Sorry for so late to the thread but the answer to the original post would be #13 at Pelican Rest Marina (just over the causeway). Rudy & Pacos and Vargas as previously mentioned are cant miss as well.
  22. Yes its good but it seems like they have quadrupled prices since they first opened. It was a great “hole in the wall” type when they first opened but now are in the tourist price gouging business in my opinion. But you most likely wont be disappointed. Good service.
  23. Still haven’t re-opened. Haven’t heard of any new news regarding doing so.
  24. Shearns is the Steakhouse on top of the hotel. Very nice but I would say secondary to #13 and The Steakhouse at San Luis.
