  1. here you go 2 tablespoons baharat spice blend ** 2 teaspoons ground sumac 1 teaspoon ground cumin 1 teaspoon ground coriander 3 large preserved lemons, flesh scooped out and rinds torn up 3 garlic cloves, crushed 1 3/4 cups chicken stock 3 tablespoons olive oil 1 teaspoon sea salt A few grinds black pepper ~3 lbs bone-in skin-on chicken large red onion thinly sliced green olives In a large resealable plastic bag, combine the baharat, sumac, cumin, coriander, preserved lemon rinds, garlic, chicken stock, olive oil, salt, and pepper. Seal the bag and gently massage everything together. Open the bag and toss in the chicken thighs and onions, reseal, and massage again to fully coat the chicken. Toss the bag in the fridge for at least 2 hours but preferably overnight to marinate, turning the bag several times Preheat the oven to 400°F . Dump the chicken and the marinade in a large roasting pan and arrange the chicken, skin side up, on top of the onions, add olives in between chicken pieces. Roast until the chicken is golden brown and the juices run clear, ~50 minutes. ** I have baharat from a spice shop, but here are a couple recipes for making your own: https://www.food.com/recipe/baharat-spice-blend-224763 https://jugglingthyme.com/baharat-spice-mix/
  2. ha - same here. i saw Landomatic's post last week and did a huge dish of baked rigatoni friday night with a simple homemade marinara and lots of mozzarella and parmesan. fed two of us both friday and saturday nights for dinner, took a couple servings out to my mom with some other essentials yesterday, and still have enough for two more dinners this week. also not complaining. big bang for the buck dish for sure.

  5. Johnny Hack posting a supposed signature block from an alleged email from his financial advisor to own the libs - not quite Rocko posting a picture of his paystub level pathetic, but damn close.
  6. if Johnny Hack could arrange to pay to take repeated loads to the face from Trump, he absolutely would.
  7. All 3 of them?
  8. damn, picadillo sounds good. and that looks great. do you have a recipe you use for that, or is it a dish you sort of eyeball and make as you go?

  13. couldn't even make it through the first episode. the dialogue is terrible. the opening scene was so bad i figured it had to be one of the character's dream that he/she was going to snap out of.
  14. and this is why Republicans love him so much.

  19. last night as I was listening to the news and really taking in just how serious this threat really is, I thought to myself, this may be something that Trump can’t actually deal with like he does everything else - by whining and complaining, lying, blaming others, and childish name calling - this may actually be the thing that leads to the end for him. and then a minute or two later I laughed out loud because I realized, of course he can, and will, and 100% of current Republicans will not only completely buy it, but will actively cheer it all on, because they are hacks and that’s what they think great leadership looks like. And supporting a “leader” whose handling of this would be considered criminally negligent in just about any other context really sticks it to the liberals.
  20. Um. Trump should have been forcibly removed from the White House a long time ago.
  21. say, has anyone checked in with Johnny Sack on how his 401(k) is doing?
  22. Dunbar's doesn't have the same charm as the old place on Freret, now being in a strip center and in a spot that feels like way too much space - but every time i have been in, the chicken has been just as good and made to order, straight out of the fryer. *no gravy on the rice, didn't come with it, didn't ask for it and didn't think to - but i am a fan of white rice, and i mixed it with the greens and eaten with the supper crumbly hot cornbread and side of yams (not pictured), i was very happy
