Quinn "La Joya" Ewers - The Man The Myth The Mullet
MrBig replied to Coach pop a bitch's topic in Football
In the video of Quinn’s agent doing a radio show posted a few pages back, Quinn’s own agent said he was “throwing the football 88 yards in the 8th grade.” It’s not some stupid shit Derka made up, it came from Ron Slavin’s stupid mouth. Quinn has a shitty agent saying bullshit like “88 yards in the 8th grade” and saying that “half of the NFL QBs went to their coaches/GMs and said not to draft Quinn because he’s such a big name and it’s too much pressure having him as a backup and thats why he fell to the 7th round.” These dumbass quotes are right from Quinn’s agent’s mouth. He needs better representation. -

We live in a timeline where the Category 5 hurricane will spontaneously disappear despite 100% chance of hitting Mar a Lago. Kind of like the way the rain heading towards Central Texas always disappears when it is forecasted to hit us with near 100% certainty. -
The Blake Lively (Ryan Reynolds's wife) Controversy
MrBig replied to chainsaw's topic in Daily Texan
What makes you think I was being defensive? I was simply responding to your comment with a response of my own about how I think Twitter is filled with right-wing trash so it shouldn’t be cited as a credible source for research. I don’t base my opinions on what other people think. I’ve seen the evidence and read the lawsuits and I have enough courage to side with Justin Baldoni even though Candace Owens & Megyn Kelly (who are MAGA minions and are full of shit-which belongs in CR) side with him too. I don’t just follow blindly and side with Blake Lively because MAGA (who holds political views completely opposite from my own) dislikes her too. -
The Blake Lively (Ryan Reynolds's wife) Controversy
MrBig replied to chainsaw's topic in Daily Texan
The researcher analyzed the Top 500 tweets about the topic on a right-leaning platform. Of course they’re all pro Baldoni. Everything on Twitter these days is inorganic and not an accurate representation of the general public’s sentiment on an issue. It’s like doing an analysis of the top Surly tweets about aggy and seeing that the overwhelming majority of posters love Texas. How about an analysis of the top posts on Bluesky? In his analysis of the top 500 tweets on the subject, he found that support is overwhelmingly pro-Baldoni – sharing hashtags like #BlakeLivelyIsALiar and #JusticeForJustinBaldoni – “by a ratio of 1:150 to 1:300, depending on which metric you use”. Judging by the age of the accounts and the number of times they have posted, “I would estimate more than 80% of pro-Justin Baldoni posts are inorganic,” Chen says. -

Quinn "La Joya" Ewers - The Man The Myth The Mullet
MrBig replied to Coach pop a bitch's topic in Football
In your example of a twist it is NOT Quinn’s fault that he got sacked. I have no problem giving Quinn props for when he makes a play and when others fail around him. I do have a problem with some people not recognizing when Quinn is at fault and start pointing the fingers at other teammates around him. My example of the sack near the goal line is to counter Steam’s argument that self sacks is a bullshit subjective statistic when my example shows clear as day that it’s a self sack. But then you start throwing in “well what if it’s a twist, is it Quinn’s fault?” Of course a twist is not Quinn’s fault, but you have successfully detracted the argument away from Quinn being at fault for creating a self sack into arguing about what constitutes a self sack in itself. Great way to take the heat off Quinn in this discussion. -

You QAnons always add caveats to scenarios where Quinn looks terrible but blame someone else and it’s never Quinn’s fault. Here’s a screen grab from the Film Guy’s analysis on the game. Quinn’s leg can be seen by the 0 score. It looks like a clean pocket if he just steps up. But then you throw in all this other DE-DT twist shit to distract from the fact that Quinn fucked up. Just own it. Thats where the discontent is on this thread. That Quinn is never at fault when we can see it clearly on the game film. It’s not about his political views either. I don’t give a fuck if he supports Trump or Kamala or Jill Stein. When you make excuses and redirect blame for a person without any accountability the way some of you Quinn supporters do, that’s the fucking cult behavior Derka keeps blabbing about because Texas Football is so above blatant homerism like that. -

A self sack is when Quinn doesn’t step up into a clean pocket after his OL is doing everything they can to block. Don’t you remember Georgia 1 where Quinn got tripped up near the end zone? The pocket was clean. Just step the fuck up Quinn, the space was there. Kelvin Banks whiffed on blocks during that game but that play near the end zone where Quinn fell was not one of the missed blocks by Banks. -

The media reporting on Ewers keeps saying he had no choice but to enter the draft and he slid to the 7th round because he was considered too good to be a backup holding a clipboard on the sidelines. They also implied he couldn’t transfer because of the playoff. Here’s an excerpt from another article from CBS Sports: Quinn Ewers' agent slams NFL teams for draft slide after Texas QB falls all the way to Round 7 Evers never entered the portal because Texas was in the midst of a playoff run. He couldn't have been the starting quarterback for the Longhorns had he entered the portal, leaving him to ride things out with his team and pursue a national championship. Basically it was return to Texas or enter the NFL Draft, even with the spring transfer portal taking place from April 16 to April 25. That's too late for a player like Ewers to learn a new offense with practices limited. https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/quinn-ewers-agent-slams-nfl-teams-for-draft-slide-after-texas-qb-falls-all-the-way-to-round-7/amp/ The notion that Quinn couldn’t have transferred because of the playoff is untrue. All players on CFP teams have a 5-day window from their last game in January to transfer. This is weak shit from his agent and publicist who are doing damage control. Quinn needs a new agent ASAP instead of some guy who is also the president of the Southlake Dragons Touchdown Club. -

This sounds like the article with this headline: “Quinn Ewers’ agent blasts chickenshit explanation for QB’s NFL Draft fall” An NFL draft slide sometimes doesn’t come with clarity or a pinpointed explanation. Agent Ron Slavin feels that was the case with his client and former Texas quarterback, Quinn Ewers. Slavin told ESPN that he reached out to “half the league” the day after the draft to find out why Ewers had such a big slide. The answer, he said, was “chickens–t.” ”They thought he was a third- or fourth-round pick, but too big of a name to be a clipboard holder,” Slavin told Archer. “Which I think is chickens-t.” In other words, NFL teams thought that Ewers, who was the No. 2 recruit out of high school and was ranked No. 7 of the quarterback prospects by ESPN for the draft, was too big of a name to have as the development quarterback. It’s one of the consequences discovered in the NIL era of college football. https://nypost.com/2025/05/04/sports/quinn-ewers-agent-blasts-chickens-t-explanation-for-nfl-draft-fall/ So according to Quinn’s agent, he was too famous to be drafted sooner? Sounds like he needs a new agent ASAP. This whole article sounds like chickenshit. C’mon man… -

I’m not saying “Sark was milking the QB controversy” I’m just saying that Quinn wasn’t so bad to the point where he had to absolutely be pulled for Arch and then all of the spotlight is immediately on Sark and Texas because Arch is the new starting QB. I believe Sark was cautious and let his 3rd year guy do his thing even though people like me were bitching about his performance because we wanted Quinn to be better. It wasn’t worth the risk to Quinn’s career and position on the team plus the added spotlight it would bring on Sark’s personal life to have Arch be the guy when Quinn helped get us near the top of the mountain two years in a row. In hindsight it seems better that Sark decided to start fresh with Arch as QB this year instead of the whirlwind it would cause replacing Quinn as a starter mid-season. -

The couple publicly announced they were jointly filing for divorce in July 2024, they reconciled in November 2024, then she announced she had a baby in April 2025 and the public had no clue she was pregnant. -

Sark didn’t want the attention that came with Arch being the starter. It’s a safer bet to let Quinn play out the rest of the season if him and Arch seemed comparable in their skill level. Especially with Quinn being a 3rd year starter with CFP experience. It keeps the media focused on the Quinn vs Arch debate and away from Sark’s personal life with Ms. Loreal. They decided to divorce prior to the season starting and then reconciled and had a baby in April without the public noticing she was pregnant. Sark didn’t want the extra spotlight on him plus the added scrutiny on Quinn if he was pulled for Arch. In hindsight it just seemed easier to let Quinn play out the rest of the season, let Sark pull his personal life together behind the scenes, then let Arch and the team have their coming out party start in the offseason once Quinn officially moved on to the NFL. -
