  1. I’ve taken an Uber from the MetCenter (immediately to the left of 183) to ABIA LESS THAN 2 MILES AWAY and the Uber has never been less than $26 no matter what time it is. It used to be $12-$15 pre-Covid. All of these prices aren’t including tip.
  2. I love at the end when Cam tells Shedeur, “I don’t need to get paid, football pays me.”
  3. Bill is like “fuck it,” Tom had TB12 so I’m now doing BBinside24
  4. Paramount must be so pissed at Nathan and HBO right now
  5. Sam’s accuracy wasn’t great, but the size and length of Collin Johnson & Lil’Jordan Humphrey, plus the speed of Devin Duvernay boosted Sam’s completion percentage and helped move the team downfield when his throws went haywire. The same can be said for X and AD taking off like rockets to catch Quinn’s moon balls that kept sailing for what felt like an eternity. I don’t recall a time when Sam’s throws put his receivers in a position to get completely rocked the way Quinn’s did waiting for the ball to hit the target. Quinn’s style of play is difficult to translate at the next level. He’s not just putting himself in danger, he’s also putting his receivers at risk. Say what you want about Bond and his serious shit, but he got hurt in the OU game while he was wide open trying to catch one of Quinn’s floaters that turned into an INT. A lot of people say Quinn just turtled under pressure and fell to the ground. Sam’s version of turtling was throwing those idiotic INTs vs Maryland and USC. The difference I saw was that Sam’s body language never wavered. He never shrugged like Quinn on the field before walking to the sideline after a shit play against Georgia. Sam was locked in even when Herman was chewing gum and blowing his bubbles on the sideline when we all knew the game was out of reach. It seems like throughout the whole Herman era, Sam was the adult in the room. It really bugs me that Sark supposedly told Sam to kick rocks even though he had another year of eligibility, but Sark must’ve felt it was time to move on. I just don’t see how having Casey and Hudson as the only vets in the QB room was the best option when the whole team was shit because of Herman being an egomaniac. The negative recruiting from the inside and out was real and the culture around Texas was in the toilet with pee charts. I can’t wrap my head around how there has been little to no improvement in offensive PPG under Sark while he is supposedly a QB guru. I’ve been hard on Quinn but I think a lot of it has to do with Sark and his decision making. Knowing that Bert is dogshit from one side of the field and still running plays to that side is what makes me ragey. I feel like that’s why Quinn looks like shit sometimes with the offense. Sark doesn’t know how to play to the strength of the team and it exacerbates the issues Quinn already has on an individual level.
  6. Where the fuck is @Thatguy because clearly you don’t remember how he constantly said, “yeah, Quinn should’ve…but it was because the OL/WR/TE who didn’t do their job and that’s why Quinn fucked up” instead of just owning it and then adding a layer of “Quinn was so miserable at Texas during the season because fans treated him worse than Garrett Gilbert.” Quinn is a great kid who bleeds orange but the aggy level of delusion that people loyal to him and who can’t own up to his mistakes is what has created the dysfunction on this thread. And then it comes back to “Derka needs help” or whatever the fuck people say because he goes off the rails responding to your shit. Yeah, Derka can’t handle criticism he gets here, but that doesn’t mean he was wrong about Quinn not being as good as some of yall think he was. It’s almost Looch levels of delusion for a young man who is too good to have Looch level type of supporters hanging on his every move.
  7. This is an excellent post. No one was rooting for Quinn to fail, some of us were just put off by the constant sunshine pumping of Quinn’s greatness (border-lining on aggy levels of delusion) when we could all see what was happening game after game. It’s one thing to want your guy to succeed, it’s another thing to blame everyone else for a player’s faults because you can’t separate your homerism from the truth. It also pissed me off when @Thatguy kept saying how unhappy Quinn was on campus because of the fan base when him and the team were treated like kings. I was there when Garrett Gilbert got booed off the field against BYU, and it was ugly, and that’s the sentiment that the Quinn diehards were pushing about the Texas fans’ feelings towards Quinn. It wasn’t even close and any criticism meant we wanted Quinn to fail. Sometimes the truth hurts, even if you were destined for greatness.
  8. Cross posting this gem here too
  9. Shough me the money
  10. We’ve seen the beating Tua’s taken over the last few years. No way Quinn can take even one hit like that and still be the same player. I don’t want him to turn into a damn vegetable.
  11. That body language. Woof.
  12. I prefer this one but it’s all the same shit
  13. Kelvin Banks is from Humble and was originally committed to Oregon. He came here after Mario Cristobal split to Miami. It’s a stretch to say he chose Texas because of Quinn.
  14. @Thatguy and @Derka being on opposite ends of the Quinn spectrum and being pretty silent throughout most of this has made it kind of boring since today is THE big day.
  15. The upside of Quinn getting drafted is that there will be more game for the rest of us to hunt here in Texas.
  16. Injury history plus those moon balls with the potential to get his receivers killed is why he’s sliding.
  17. Texas defensive players right now
  18. Well shit, if Mahomes missed as many college games as Quinn, some people would have said he probably would have gone undrafted.
  19. Nothing in the world brings two people together more than hating the same people. I have always hated Ryan Reynolds and my wife hates Blake Lively, so it’s fun to follow this story and talk about a common interest instead of just fucking all the time since my back isn’t what it used to be.
  20. Because RR is a dick. Matthew Lawrence said he was a dick back when they did a movie together in 1998. If RR was an asshole back in 1998, his dickishness surely has grown exponentially as he got more famous.
  21. I prefer the show Off With His Head starring the Marquis de Knable played by the late John Ritter.
