https://footballscoop.com/2025/10/07/texas-tech-new-old-throwback-logo-2026 "The Double T represents one of the most recognizable logos in all of collegiate athletics and a point of pride for all Red Raiders," said AD Kirby Hocutt. "As we celebrate Homecoming this weekend and welcome back thousands of alumni to campus, this is the perfect opportunity to unveil our new branding that will resonate with our history and define Texas Tech Athletics for future generations of Red Raiders. This multi-year project will propel our athletics brand further into this new era of college athletics where Texas Tech will continue to lead at a national level." The announcement comes as Tech prepares to host Kansas for its homecoming game, and will do so while wearing throwback uniforms.

Deion Sanders set for surgery today By John Brice Oct 7, 2025 Three days after revealing new health complications, Colorado coach Deion Sanders now is sharing he faces a new surgical procedure. Following his team's loss late Saturday night at TCU, Coach Prime revealed that he believed blood clots had returned in his leg and that he was scheduled to see his medical team Monday. Today, Sanders revealed the results of that visit: the need for a surgical procedure that Sanders said he hopes he can return from in time for Wednesday's Colorado Buffaloes practice ahead of Saturday's home tilt against one-loss Iowa State. The procedure is called aspiration thrombectomy of the left popliteal and tibial arteries. Sanders leaned on his faith as he told reporters during his regularly scheduled press conference about the impending procedure: "Today, I'm having a procedure," Sanders said. "Prayerfully, I'll be right back tomorrow (Wednesday). "It is what it is; we found what we found. It has nothing to do with me working at the level I'm trying to compete at. It's hereditary. It is what it is. I trust God with all my heart, all my soul and all my mind." Per online medical resources, the procedure is described in the following: "Aspiration thrombectomy of the left popliteal artery and tibial arteries is a procedure that removes a blood clot (thrombus) from these arteries in the leg using suction through a catheter, thereby restoring blood flow and preventing acute limb ischemia. A catheter is advanced into the artery, and negative pressure applied through a syringe or a mechanical device draws the thrombus into the catheter for removal. This technique is often used as an emergency treatment for clots that threaten limb viability. This specific procedure per medical journals is viewed as much less invasive as older, traditional methods of surgical treatments. Medical journals reveal that the aspiration thrombectomy utilizes a catheter to be inserted into the targeted artery, and then a syringe is attached to the catheter and used to draw out the clot. It has been just four years since per Sanders himself he nearly died from blood clots that arose as a complication from a foot surgery that Sanders had performed on his left foot at a Jackson, Mississippi, hospital when Sanders was head coach at Jackson State, his first collegiate head coaching post. That procedure saw Sanders have two toes amputated from lingering damage that he endured during his profession career that included a Pro Football Hall of Fame output in football as well as being a starting outfielder in Major League Baseball. "I think I got more blood clots, inside the bag; I think I got more blood clots," Sanders told reporters Saturday night. "It don't make sense. I am hurting like crazy. ... So, that's what's going on. I am not getting blood to my leg, so that's why my leg's throbbing."

Just about threw up in my mouth watching that shitty O-line film 🙄

Hook up Arch on a simulator all week and shorten passing routes. Gotta process faster, and get the damn ball out quicker. The German VR ‘flight simulator’ behind LSU QB Jayden Daniels’ Heisman-caliber 2023 season
-
Yeah, the entire offensive roster surrounding Arch is a joke... Not just an O-line issue.

2024 game... Great Effort by Bolden to recover Wisner fumble... TOUCHDOWN!!! 🤘 Texas vs Oklahoma | Wisner fumble | Silas Bolden TD
-
Currently watching above replay -- crowd noise is great due to the on field mics. This Saturday, Texas defense has to get heavy pressure on blOU QBs.. big reason for Horns 2024 win. 🤘
-
Not sure why Sark can't get his recent teams to start faster. Last year, Texas offense didn't have a first down till early 2nd qtr. Good Guys still won though... 🤘 2024 - Game 6 - #1 Texas vs #18 Oklahoma
-
Seems like following might be best starting O-line ??? LT Goosby LG Hutson C Robertson RG Campbell RT Baker Then rotate Umeozulu in at LG for some plays, especially short yardage.

Crossposting.... Thx for this goes to @satyanash Scipio Tex: What Now On The Texas Longhorns Offensive Line?
-
Crossposting... Scipio Tex The offensive line is a wreck, the RBs are JAGS RUNNING BACK Texas totaled 15 rushing yards from all players not named Arch Manning. I guess the people arguing with me about this room’s talent are waiting for one of them to drop a 7 yard run against OU when Venables slants the wrong way to count coup, but let’s just put this one in the old PW win column. I would rather have taken a Big L. They schemed up the safety, linebacker and an edge on Wisner multiple times in pass pro, yielding a sack, two pressures. They generally manhandled him. Wisner also fell at contact on a goal line run like a fainting goat watching The Shining. Christian Clark got some run, gave up a pressure and blocked the wrong guy on only three protection snaps. On the positive side, Wisner had 8 carries for 13 yards. Which if you did three times, it’s now 3rd and a long 5. Then you go on a hard count on a 4th down, get an offsides from the defense, then we’re looking at 4th and inches, and then you can sneak it for zero when the OL do their slip n slide belly slide. Turnover on downs, but you establish the run and these body blows pay off in the 4th quarter

Crossposting... Scipio Tex OFFENSIVE LINE Texas gave up 22 pressures (per PFF), 6 sacks (I counted it as 7 or 8, but I guess they become QB runs at 0 yards) and five other hard QB hits against a Florida DL ranked in the 100s in havoc rate coming into this game. They combined for six offensive penalties (Brooks and Baker had four of them), which ties a season OL record. I feel like they’re capable of breaking the record against Oklahoma, but it will take a team effort. Their penalties were mostly lack of discipline and focus, but two of them were tackles getting physically manhandled and having to hold on. Baker got ran through like Madonna at the 1997 NBA All Star Game in the second half. Three OL were unplayable – Stroh, Brooks, Baker. By unplayable, I mean their play warranted immediate benching, but we can’t because it’s only Year 6 and one can’t expect Flood to have built out a functional OL by now. Respect the process and check back in 2033. Stroh is Stroh, Brooks is a true freshman who has no idea how to pass block (he gave up 8 pressures!) and I’m sympathetic to his plight, and Baker is a fairly athletic tackle with good feet who isn’t strong and doesn’t appear to have gotten a lot of technical coaching about how to use his assets (feet, motor). He can’t overcome a strength program built on ads in the back of Tiger Beat magazine. Two were barely playable – Hutson, Goosby. Hutson has bad feet, lunges in pass pro, and can’t handle athleticism or power. Goosby is an upgraded Baker. Very athletic, long, good feet, still weak. His technique has plateaued and it shouldn’t have. DJ Campbell was actually OK. Our scheme is very simplistic and Florida repeatedly toyed with us by getting our OL to honor useless slide pro rules that don’t apply to the pressures they were running. A scheme that puts Wisner on an edge while two OL block air isn’t ideal. Anyway, here’s our friend Nash to cheer you up. Thanks Nash.

Who are the tough guys and leaders on this Texas team?? Better show up at the "Street Fight in Cotton Bowl" this Saturday 🤘
-
Terrible OL blocking + Sark not adjusting playcalls to pressure. Pass routes too long developing, and no intermediate routes or checkdowns -- Sark called a terrible game with Arch under so much pressure and no run game. Arch has to learn to not take sacks by holding the ball too long.
-
Really critical of Sark not providing more short outlet throws for Arch with no protection... terrible OL plan for run blocking with our personnel. Joked about our ridiculous weakness in OL with our deep pockets for NIL.
-
Totally agrees with need for athleticism on OL. Brutal talk about wrong plan for this OL personnel... Sark heavily criticized too
-
Brutal criticism of plan on OL, and weakness at Left Guard.

As a former Texas O-Lineman, I’ve never seen the Longhorn offensive line struggle like this. It’s beyond concerning — protection is collapsing, no push up front, and it’s killing every drive. We must go back to max protection. Football isn’t 7-on-7 — it’s won in the trenches. Right now, Texas is losing that war every snap. It doesn’t matter who’s at QB or how loaded your skill room is… if you can’t protect or move the D-line, you’re done. 5:44 PM · Oct 4, 2025 ·

Crossposting to this thread... Manning is not a 2026 NFL Draft prospect With below-average offensive line play and a quarterback who is trying to figure out his passing rhythm and anticipation in real time, the result is Texas’ offense. Young quarterbacks tend to be overly conservative, and we are reminded of Manning’s inexperience with every dropback. Against Florida, his lack of anticipation led to tardy decisions. And too often when he found the right read, he hurried his mechanics, which resulted in an inaccurate throw (or worse, an interception). It doesn’t help that the Gators consistently got pressure with only four rushers, and the Texas running game offered very little relief, which put an even heavier burden on the quarterback. Manning’s best play of the day was his third-quarter touchdown toss. He was immediately forced off his spot (again, by a four-man rush), and he subtly shuffled to his left and found Wingo on the post for the touchdown pass. In the second half, Manning’s ability to keep plays alive with his legs was a major factor in Texas keeping it a one-possession game. While an inconsistent performance overall, there were several examples of progress to take away from Manning’s day. Like with any college quarterback with single-digit career starts and an inconsistent supporting cast, any reaction to his play shouldn’t be an obituary. Is development guaranteed? Of course not. But how Manning looked in his first career SEC road start (Saturday against the Gators) will almost certainly look different when he makes his 20th career start. This is a quarterback figuring things out in the moment, which is why Manning shouldn’t be considered a 2026 NFL Draft prospect — he is a 2027 or 2028 NFL Draft prospect. — Dane Brugler, NFL Draft analyst

Sark and Kyle Flood -- what a shitshow offensive line.
-
Arch was hit the entire game... No excuses for the shitshow Texas OL

Where were these guys?? Could not stop the run. No pressure from our pass rush... Gave up 457yds... Ridiculous
