  6. There is a reason why I have always been keenly interested in bridges in the rail network in western Ukraine and Eastern Russia. Hitting those key transit points limits throughput via rail which puts greater stress on other modalities. As you start to limit the ability to ship via pipeline, the next "step" is to move the modality to truck or ship, it also reduces what else can be transported as oil and fuel are replacing something in the transport, it also reduces what else can be transported as oil and fuel are replacing something in the transport which is riskier and slower with much less throughput. More importantly it also reduces what else can be transported as oil and fuel are replacing something in the transport schedule. This is an idea that is as old as time. Look at the early attempts in 1941 by the RAF and SOE and then by the US, starting in June of 42, in Romania. Stop the oil production, stop the ability to transport it, and it has a trigger effect across all parts of military readiness.
  7. Its just a simple illustration of how far 1500 miles is. The tool only allows so much shading at a time.
  8. They run $2 to $3M each, so the question is how many would the US consider to be excess stockpiles? The US probably now has less than 3k of them with a slow replenish rate (100ish or so a year would be my guess) and so what would be a solid number to provide to be useful in theater? What would 50 do? I think people don't realize how scary Tomahawks are, even if they are land-launchrd platforms. It would in essence be able to cover anything in this blue shaded area.
  9. Tomahawks (TLAMs) would instantly change the war. TLAMS have a range of 1,500 miles and would have to be tied to the US target accusation and satellite guidance system to be fully functional...
  10. Petrino rides again..
  11. What makes it better is Petrino rides again...
  12. The anti-air missile shortages are most likely tied to a mixture of a variety of attacks on the production facilities for rocket boosters and the development of solid fuel propellant and the continued use of trying to shoot down the various drone attacks throughout Russia. The interesting part of this is that we are seeing continued uptick on attacks on the missile defense system in Crimea at the same time. So they are targeting the systems that still have missiles and continuing to force Russia to expend missiles shooting down attacks on various production facilities. And this is all happening before they have began using large amounts of their own home-grown ballistic missile systems. So we are either seeing an attempt to "own" the sky for finally using the F15s in an offensive capacity or allowing the new ballistic systems to have an even higher chance of being successful. Either way, it is interesting to see that the functional air defense systems of Russia slowly collapsing under the weight of Russian economy's inability to match sustained production.
