  1. Extra lulz if they actually think the main issue is coaching and not the fact that everyone else is now participating in having a payroll.
  2. Arizona State, BYU, Iowa State, and Colorado are all 6-2 in-conference right now. Is there a scenario where Colorado wins next week and gets left out of the Big-12 championship game? If that occurred, I would think ESPN et all would back more Deion screen time over Ole Miss/4th SEC team.
  3. So, Lincoln jumped to the PAC because he didn't want to deal with the SEC, but now he can't handle the Big-10 either. Maybe the new Big 12 is more his speed.
  4. There's no sense arguing when the other side is sticking to the literal definition of "no chance." 99.9% of people understand what was meant by "no chance Texas misses the playoffs even with a loss to Aggie", but if someone wants to take it literally, sure. It might all be moot since there's "a chance" the world could end before the game.
  5. I doubt they really have a choice. Other schools will throw cash at all the coaching prospects, why go to the university that doesn't have its admin ironed out?
  6. Qualifier, I'm not saying this isn't a bad situation. It's absolutely a horrific spot. However, Hitler was bent on conquering other countries and building an empire. Trump, at his core, although petty and childish, wants to play golf and enrich himself financially. Yes, Stephen Miller, Elon Musk, et all have their own agendas as well, but it won't be as focused or destructive as say, invading the rest of the continent and starting another World War.
  7. I think he's strictly referring to the office is president, which I might actually agree with. Assuming the Republican candidate rattled off all the standard stances, regardless of how insane it might sound coming from a gay or transgender individual, I think a very high percentage of Republican voters pull the lever on election day. Democratic voters are the ones who keep looking to a reason to not vote for the party candidate, or at the very least complain about it. You can say it's admirable in that they hold their candidates to a higher standard, but the reality is that's a net negative when the other side doesn't follow the same rules.
  8. At this point, it's probably dicey to even nominate a minority male unless you've got another Obama/lightning in a bottle candidate. Need to find another centrist white male who won't rock the boat. That'll certainly anger the progressive portion of the party, but at this point we're past "fool me twice, shame on you" territory.
  9. No coup necessary. Just order the military to do stuff while he's still president in the interests of national security and he's completely in the clear according to SCOTUS.
  10. Pushing aside Harris for Shapiro almost certainly doesn't yield a different final result. On a national scale, how many people really cared or knew about him before he was on the short list for VP?
  11. ...the meteor is sure taking its sweet time. It needs to pick up the pace or there won't be anything left to destroy.
  12. Regarding item #3, we're just doing our due diligence in terms of quality control testing. Gotta make sure our system is built to last.
  13. Counterpoint, Trump and friends aren't the sharpest tools in the drawer. Just lie through your teeth and swear unending loyalty and keep quiet until absolutely necessary. Just watch some old Rudy press conferences as study guides for the vetting process...although you can probably do without the bad hair dye and flatulence.
  14. Yeah, for as much as people joked (or not really joked) about him dropping dead before the election, it's probably in the best interests of the nation that he lives through the next term instead of Vance/someone who cares about something other than self-enrichment being in charge.
  15. Economy + inherent racism/sexism. We've seen that play out globally plenty in recent history. Using the UK again as an example, how many economists explained over and over how Brexit would tank the economy? Didn't matter. People wanted an easy answer/target for why they didn't have enough money, which the Tories provided regarding immigrants taking jobs (sound familiar?) and tying up government resources. Lots of people don't understand or don't want to take the time to understand complex economic issues. Just give them something/someone to blame in 15 seconds or less before their attention span gives out.
  16. Honestly, they might if it tanks the economy for the foreseeable future. It looks years of the UK economy shitting itself after Brexit before the light bulb finally went off and they voted to Tories out of power.
  17. Moral victory or not, I'd gladly take it at this point. Keeping Trump from having complete control of the legislative branch isn't nothing.
  18. Also, just to be clear, the columnist (Marcus Hayes) seems to be pretty universally hated by Sixers fans in terms of distorting things/stirring the pot, so it's not like he's in the clear here either. He didn't need to include the family members in the column, but at the same time he's right that Embiid hasn't shown any more initiative to get in shape or stay on the court even after his son was born, so his words about leaving a legacy ring hollow.
  19. Allegedly. The column mentioned Embiid's son and deceased brother in the context of Embiid saying he wants to leave a legacy (in the basketball sense)...yet he's been out of shape and/or injured for his whole career. Embiid bitched about the press in general questioning his desire to play earlier this week, then moved the goal posts to the references to his family members when confronting the columnist tonight. Of course, he didn't actually shove the columnist until after getting called out for making the completely bullshit statement that he doesn't care what reporters say about him.
  20. Should offer to let Judge bat again right now.
  21. So he'll effectively cancel out Judge's production going forward?
  22. Watson continuing to put up Tebow-like passing numbers.
  23. Yes, and sadly I would have trusted the odds of that working out somehow more than I trusted Sun Belt Billy calling plays in OT. Also, WTF was Heupel doing on that, burning a timeout? They gifted him the win in regulation.
  24. Tell that to the SEC refs. Tennessee qb fumbled the ball out of bounds on their final drive in regulation with 23 seconds left. Ref announces the call to the stadium says clock will wind on his signal. Heupel lets the clock run to 15 seconds before realizing what's going on and calls time out. He bitches to the ref, and then end up putting the game clock back to 23 seconds.
  25. Should have just gone for 2 in regulation. Absolutely no one believed Napier wouldn't shit the bed again calling the plays in OT.
