  1. It might have seemed that way at the time but with it looking like the 2024 #1 they gave up will be in the bottom half of the draft, it’s looking better all the time. Plus, there is no defensive player in the 2024 draft that even approaches Anderson’s potential.
  2. Brawn: The Impossible Formula 1 Story dropped today on Hulu. As a relative newcomer to F1, I wasn’t familiar with the story. I’ve only watched episode 1 of 4 but this looks like a must watch for racing fans.
  3. I think this is a terrible take. He’s a terrific value. His 2.7 WAR in 2023 translates into almost $22 million in value. He probably won’t match that in 2024 but he’d still be a bargain at half that.
  4. ^^^ That agent also reps the Japanese pitching stud, Yamamoto, that the Yankees are reportedly very interested in. Cashman is one smooth negotiator.
  5. There were only 15 players taken in last year’s Rule 5 draft. It’s likely he’s not in the top 10% of prospects that will be available.
  6. I’m re-reading Texas by Michener. Should be required reading for anyone living in Texas, whether a native or an immigrant. You should be warned though that is a major time investment, closing in at 1,428 pages.
  7. ^^^ That would be an awesome addition. But he ain’t gonna be cheap. I’ve seen projections at 5 years for $100M+
  8. ^^^ He’ll probably be added to the 40 man today before today’s rule 5 protection deadline. I think we currently have 3 open spots. Other possibilities are Colin Barber, OF (No. 😎 Justin Dirden, OF (No. 14) Miguel Palma, C/1B (No. 17) Zach Daniels, OF (No. 19) Shay Whitcomb, INF (No. 25) Jaime Melendez, RHP (No. 27) Misael Tamarez, RHP (No. 30)
  9. In 2023, Meyers had 341 PAs with a OPS+ of 86. QUIT TRYING TO MAKE MEYERS HAPPEN!!!
  10. COLLEGE STATION — Three of the top potential candidates for the open Texas A&M job have chimed in, and Dan Lanning sounded most adamant about staying at Oregon. “I’m not going anywhere,” Lanning told the assembled media this week when asked about A&M following the firing of Jimbo Fisher. “There is zero chance that I would be coaching somewhere else. I’ve got unfinished business here … and my No. 1 priority is being elite here at Oregon.”
  11. “Wash pot style” are just marketing words to give the product a homemade feel

I’ve had enough of Kyle’s over-dramatic, bitchy gay man act. He’s insufferable.
  13. I was talking overall but you are dead on about the home/away splits. The difference is startling and inexplicable. Home .227/.303/.399 Away .279/.348/.509
  14. You need to switch to cracklins. In comparison, regular rinds taste like packing peanuts.
  15. The Astros were top 5 in all the main offensive categories.
  16. Cashman has been especially testy this offseason. He is obviously feeling the heat. It’s said that pressure makes diamonds but, in this case, will probably only produce farts.
  17. Are we sure that Pettis is staying? Schwab is the only one I’ve seen. reporting this. And he’s not really a reporter.
  18. Pass protection has been fine. Run blocking, not so much.
  19. He had another awful game. 11 points, 1/7 from beyond the arc.
