  1. Cool memory from some time in 2001, stumbling into Saxon Pub with a date and it's a solid blues jam night. Great vibe but it doesn't matter much. My date's rubbing all up and down my jeans like they're some damn worry beads. We're probably annoying some music purists. Over my shoulder, sitting alone at the tall 4-top table nearest the door is this quiet, almost frail nerdy dude scribbling notes onto a pad. He looks like the kinda guy who wants to tell you about how things were better at the "Arma-dilla" and "original-orginal" Antones, before the Dellionaires starting fucking everything up or maybe how he almost got to make out with Patty Griffin one time. I notice him and then I don't. Until the singer on stage stops and asks him to come up and play. He shyly, almost begrudgingly walks up there and plugs in. I'm expecting some grooved out Gordon Lightfoot type shit, at best, but even that's not going to spoil this night. I'm prepared to give polite applause. So, yeah, turns out to be James McMurtry and blows the fucking doors off the place with Choctaw Bingo. Mesmerizing introduction to this singular talent. It was jaw-on-the-floor good and utterly unexpected. He quits after just the one song and shuffles back to his note pad. My date congratulates his brave effort like a soccer mom would a fat 8-yr-old at a gymnastics competition. He's too in-his-own-world to be offended. Cool night. Obviously, big fan ever since.
  2. Before the season began, I thought we would really miss Reggie Hemphill-Mapps at some point. That never really happened. Maybe in the return game, but maybe not.
  3. Cruel Realization of the Day: No profession or industry anywhere awards a "Top 50 Under 50" Stay strong, bud.
  4. Thanks for the memories and for being one of the guys that made this season so much fun. Best wishes to a straight-up badass \\m//
  5. Aggy right now:
  6. Toy Story 3 Wedding Singer
  7. Only losers and weirdos care about winning the Sugar Bowl, bro ... The funniest take was that Fromm “was just kind of ‘off’ with his throws all night” He was clearly getting throttled and played rattled (scared) from very early on.
  8. Holding a Red Bull so you don't see his alkie hands shaking. Clever.
  9. For real. Damn.
  10. XV seems to have an above-average tolerance for the relaxants or he maybe just likes to get hyped. I thought his (awesome) rowdiness before the USC game would have the Silver Spurs taking extra precaution.
  11. aggy is the guy in the office who joined a country club he can't afford and mentions said club in every sentence while wearing its logo on his cap, shirt, pullover, socks, shoes etc. daily
  12. Typically, I prefer my aggy misery to stem from an embarrassing aggy loss, but them losing their shit over our win is a distinct pleasure, too.
  13. Side note: “Are you wearing a wire?!?!?!?” chick could get it.
  14. 10 wins. Sugar Bowl Champs. Let’s party.
  15. Ewok gon’ die
  16. Bizarre how thar dumb computer misspelled “Casey Thompson and/or Shane Buechele” like that. Very puzzling.
  17. One of the great "Last Day of School" songs
  18. I'm way late to the "Sneaky Pete" party, but 3 episodes in, I'm very hooked and so is the wife. Perfect role for Ribisi and even the unknowns in this show give killer performances... No clue how this all ends up but, again, very hooked.
  19. Anyone could see the position he's in--- he's stuck in the middle-bottom of the depth chart with no real prospects of moving up. Not his fault at all. Hopefully he can find a spot in a situation that fits him. Who would give the guy ill will??
  20. Good luck and Godspeed, young man. No negativity here.
