  1. Because the GOP will never turn down the opportunity to own “ or arrest” a black guy. Even if said Black guy has been out of politics for nearly 10 years now.
  2. Should be interesting to watch this shit show while lots of us in North Texas are snowed / iced in.
  3. Not sure where else to ask this, but I’d really like for Biden to catch up to Trump on judge appointments. How are we doing on that front? I wish we could end the blue slip policy or whatever. It’s holding up a bunch of nominations.
  4. My analysis of the map and future opportunities is as follows: Hawaii, New Hampshire, and Pennsylvania are only a matter of time. All 3 states have had detailed conversations, votes, and they seem to be trying to sort the last few things out. It’s a “when” not “ if” thing here. North Dakota and South Dakota seems like they vote on it nearly every election cycle. If they continue to allow votes on it, it will eventually break thru and that’s 2 more red states we can add to the pile. Every 2-4 years people in these states get it on the ballot thru the ballot initiative process. West Virginia seems to be trending to the “when not if” category. I’m still Skeptical on Florida. Florida is both Republican as hell and crazy as fuck. They have used the Florida Supreme Court to stop it from getting on the ballot before and may do so again. Desantis is a 70 year old man in a 40 year old’s body. For some reason, he really doesn’t like this stuff. You’d think anyone under 50 wouldn’t be hostile to marijuana, but there are lots of idiots in the US population. In addition, Florida needs 60% to pass ballot initiatives and recreational is still considered somewhat controversial so I’m not sure it could get 60% statewide in Desantis land with the GOP trying to stop it there. Georgia and Wisconsin are considered “playing the long game”. We flipped the Supreme Court in Wisconsin, we are fixing the maps, and hopefully we can take control there and get abortion / weed legalization passed like the majority of Wisconsin residents desire. Georgia we need to continue to have liberals move there for work. We need more black Georgians to get over the age of 18. Georgia is competitive like we were hoping Texas would be by now. The demographics in Georgia seem to be trending in the dems direction. Take the legislature / governor in Georgia and they could pass it. Activists have tried to get medical on the ballot in Idaho, Nebraska, and Wyoming, but they’ve had trouble with either collecting enough signatures or the Supreme Court / republicans have stepped in and killed it. there are still lots of wins out there to be had and fight for. Like I said, I wish Dan Patrick would croak so maybe Texas could join the fun.
  5. Bathroom Dan, potty Patrick, Dan Patrick that fucker kills it every year in the state legislature regardless of what Texans think and other republicans think. I really wish Dan Patrick would die.
  6. Same shit is about to happen in New York. Nearly all dems hate Elise Stefanik, but we’re going to Hochulmamder the maps where we get 4-5 seats back and make Stefanik’s district even redder.
  7. https://www.marijuanamoment.net/west-virginia-senate-president-says-marijuana-could-be-legalized-to-help-curb-fentanyl-epidemic-sooner-than-later/ Republican West Virginia senate president talking about legalizing marijuana relatively soon because his state is getting hammered by the opioid epidemic. West Virginia legalizing would be huge for several reasons. WV is the reddest state in the country. Would send a message to other republican states. WV going legal would fully surround Pennsylvania with legal states and put more pressure on them to legalize. New Hampshire is an island of prohibition as well, but prohibition seems to be holding on by a thread in that state. your possibilities for 2024 legalization appear to be : Florida, Hawaii, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, and South Dakota. 24 states fully legal. 26 to go. Just want to see this sham of a prohibition die.
  8. I wouldn’t mind putting up with her if we could gerrymander the shit out of the rest of the state. Get Colorado all dem except 1 or 2 seats. we’ve kind of kicked ourselves in the balls nationwide with all these bipartisan redistricting committees. They only seem to exist in blue states. Republicans just Gerrymander hardcore and hope the courts don’t step in. Dems need to go as hard as repubs on this.
  9. A lot of jealous folks in here.
  10. With “hopefully” New York, Louisiana, and Wisconsin redistricting still to come. I hope we will be favored to win the house back in 2024.
  11. Not really political talk, but I loved it when the Adelson family bought a huge chunk of the Dallas mavericks. Hopefully a sign that they’re not focusing on politics as much anymore. the Adelsons bank rolled the GOP in the 2000’s and 2010’s. They seem to be having trouble replacing their money.
  12. 1) owned the libs 2) primal MAGA yells 3) prevent the dems from doing anything to improve non-rich folks lives 4) take away access to needed programs that help the poor oh yeah……how do GOP candidates get more than 10% of the nationwide vote again?
  13. I’d celebrate, but the GOP will probably just find someone worse than them.
  14. Republicans always choose party over country. If black people make up 40% of a state, then they clearly should receive 2 seats in a state that has 5 seats total. Without the minorities, the state would only have 3 seats to divvy up. It’s not a hard concept to understand. The GOP is just crazy power hungry.
  15. The Republican strategy for this is sickening. Well I guess it’s their strategy for nearly everything they don’t like. They say “let’s talk about it”, when they finally get in a room, they do all they can to make sure there’s a stalemate, and then they try to bring the courts attention to something else. Whenever they try to bring it up again, the republicans say “ what about…… we gotta fix….. let’s do the maps after……..”. it’s like the GOP is Muhammad Ali and they’re essentially playing “rope a dope” for 10 years until the next map comes out and the process repeats. These fuckers always talk about supporting “law and order”. Well….let’s follow the damn law as written and fix these maps.
  16. Goldman Sachs experts think there’s just a 15% chance of recession next year.
  17. Louisiana is hopefully just the warm up act. Here’s the court case we’ve all been waiting for.
  18. Not sure where else to put this. We are 1 step closer to getting the seat we deserve in Louisiana.
  19. I know it would never happen because of republicans, but damn….. job hunting is so damn excruciating that the state you live in should have something where they pay you minimum wage or half of that an hour to actively apply for jobs. We make the process so damn excruciating. People are literally treated like shit for trying to better themselves and improve their lives. Companies should be ecstatic and flattered that people are applying to their jobs, but the world doesn’t work that way. In reality, job hunters are barely treated better than homeless people.
  20. Really hoping Collins retires this next election Maine is up. We need her seat.
  21. Anyone freaking out about polling a year out is dumb too.
  22. There’s been talk of some Ohio republicans wanting to repeal the marijuana legalization. Would they really be so stupid to overturn something that win by nearly 15 points?
