  1. Not great (but I like it better than last years), but not terrible (isn't covered in the Russian flag /no cr). A solid entry.
  2. Not a surprise that the club waited to put out an official announcement until the Jorginho deal got finalized: Mo had surgery and is out for "an extended period of time." Speculation was he had a serious injury and no doubt it factored into how clubs negotiated with us this last week. By all accounts Mo is the model teammate and lockerroom "glue guy." I feel for him; played well last spring and in his appearances this year. How long has Mo been with The Arsenal? He played for in Arteta's final home game as a player in 2016. He's out of contract this summer and hopefully can return before May. But if his Arsenal career is at last to end, then let it end on a podium while lifting the PL trophy. Also saw a video he and Xhaka are working on their coaching badges by coaching some our youth teams; wouldn't mind him sticking around in that capacity after his playing days.
  3. Exactly what Sambi needs. Regular playing time to regain his confidence and the opportunity to learn under the tutelage if one of the Premier League's greatest midfielders (and the only one to lift a Golden Trophy). Kid has talent; hopefully this does for him what Marseille did for Saliba.
  4. 100% this. We were woefully short of MF cover, and I would not have wanted to rely on Sambi in high-leverage matches. Jorginho brings experience at the highest level and has won silverware: Euro 2020, Champions League, Europa League (that last one... sigh). Jesus and Zinchenko brought in a winning mentality, and hopefully so will Jorg. We can slot him in and give Xhaka and Partey some rest, which will be needed if we don't want them running on vapor in late April and May again. Maybe this is next-level copium on my part, but his stats this year compare favorably to other MFs: Now lets win the whole freaking thing and go get Rice and Caicedo in the summer.
  5. Signed a 4-year extension with LC in September.
  6. Yes. We’re woefully short in MF; Xhaka and Partey have no cover at the moment. The club has been very disciplined in walking away from exorbitant transfer prices, but they need to get this deal done. The League is there to be won: Chelsea and Liverpool won’t stay down, and Ten Hag is rapidly improving Utd. This is the best shot we’ve had at a League since 2008; It is money well spent if we win it. Plus, this kid’s only 21 and his skill set projects very similar to Partey.
  7. Yup; Papa Wengz is the most successful manager in FA Cup history w/ seven wins.
  8. Eh. We’ve won four of the last nine FA Cups. It’s a great thing to win, but I’d rather win the trophy we haven’t lifted since 2004. Less fixtures, and a B-side that rotated out six regulars played a nearly first XI even for most of the 1st 60 mins. Eddie had good chances. Dear God let Partey be OK. Even if he is, we need to get Caicedo in no matter the cost. Sambi looked lost out there; he needs a loan, and I wouldn’t want to have to rely on him in high-leverage matches.
  9. If Partey’s hurt, we’re going to have to ridiculously overpay for a midfielder before Tuesday. The League is on the line.
  10. Please please please 9 lbs. 8 oz. baby Jesus let Partey only be subbed out for rest.
  11. B-side keeping a clean sheet. Trossard’s a player. Holding though.., no way he goes out for the 2nd half, right? A replay would get crammed in before our Feb 15 league match. Eesh.
  12. Was hoping we'd see a rotated side. The League is the priority, and Everton hiring Dyche (how many times did we say "motherfucking Burnley...." the past few years) made that match more difficult. IIRC the FA Cup is the one trophy Pep hasn't won with City, so him selecting pretty much a 1st XI isn't too surprising. That said... Lets. Fucking. Go.
  13. Helmet? Check. Gloves? Check. Steering wheel? Check. The Drink? Not needed. Leave the kid alone, he'll know what to do.
  14. Don't blame him wanting to go find more playing time as he's clearly second to Zinchenko at the moment, but I have to admit... I would be sad to see him go. But if he does go... let his last moment with The Arsenal consist of lifting the PL trophy. And there are reports Elneny suffered a potentially season-ending injury at training last week; makes getting a MF before the window closes even more essential, as we have next to no cover for Xhaka and Partey.
  15. Surly crowdfunding opportunity? https://www.theguardian.com/football/2023/jan/24/everton-for-sale-farhad-moshiri-asking-price-more-than-500m
