  1. I'd get Kitna back. Kitna year was the turning point with Dak going from an overly cautious game manager to actually pushing the ball downfield and over the middle.
  2. While none of them are elite Ramey entered this season with a career 3pt% of 37% and both Febres and AJ1 entered the season with career marks of 36% (admittedly both AJ1 and Febres in particular have always seemed to be much more volatile with their 3pt shooting and could just as easily knock down 6 or 7 in one game while going 0fer 8 in the next game). I like @shadow_operative's idea of stretching out Tre Mitchell (and Disu for that matter) more often. We need to create difficult choices for the defense which will happen if we combine the movement we already have with better spacing. Permanently placing 2 guys in the lane with a 3rd guy in close proximately just makes things too difficult for our already unathletic guards to create any space.
  3. Our inability to shoot is exacerbated by our poor spacing. If we're going to insist on running Knight's version of the motion offense at least spread it out and align guys where we don't have 3 and 4 guys inside the 3 point line at all times. Davidson and even Gonzaga at times run a motion or continuity offense, but they've advanced it beyond the 1981 framework that never called for your guys to move outside of 15 feet from the basket. There's no room for anyone to shoot in rhythm.
  4. Yes, but it was clear that we rated Will Baker ahead of him.
  5. Muthafuckers essentially tried to turn Dr. King into Santa Claus.
  6. Isaiah Taylor couldn't really shoot the 3 consistently, but he pushed the hell out of the rock and was decent scorer from the PG position.
  7. I believe we were supposed to play in either the early season NIT or another New York based holiday tournament (coach's against cancer maybe?) this season, but our participation was canceled and the hastily put together Abe Lemons classic took the place of those games. Every offseason around May or June @Lobo or someone else typically post newly scheduled games or tournaments for the upcoming year's schedule.
  8. There's far more leeway in college basketball. Home and home series with top flight opponents are often set up 6 months to a year prior to the first game of the series. Early season and holiday tournaments are typically only set up 6 to 8 months prior to taking place.
  9. 1pm central time ain't exactly an early start.
  10. He's seemingly even more unathletic than Ramey but can't shoot anywhere close to as well as Courtney.
  11. We'll never have a road game on LHN.
  12. I think we played Nova during that time last year, but it was peak Covid so no fans were there. Also I believe Gonzaga was scheduled during that period as well, but the game was canceled.
  13. All you had to do to know he was capable as far as carrying a team is watch what he did for Murray St while he was there. Back then he had an old school point guard way about him in that he set up players without having to actually make the final pass. In the NBA he hasn't demonstrated that as much, partly because the NBA has evolved into a spread pick 'n roll game and partly because he's been such a dominant scorer that he's changed his game. Regardless I believe if the circumstances were to present themselves he could be that style of player again.
  14. A team's performance in the prior year only affects like 2 games (now maybe 3 games in a 17 game season) on their schedule. I've never understood this argument about 1st place or 3rd place schedule. 6 games are against your own division and another 8 games are determined by where your division is on it's 4 year rotating schedule again other divisions. Way too much is made about 1st place or 3rd place schedule. Especially when you consider the fact that over half of the previous year's playoff teams get replaced the next year by a new set of playoff teams.
  15. I'm probably biased because I never really understood the love for AI and his 41% FG, but how exactly does AI have the more complete offensive package?
  16. Old school like an Alex English or Adrian Dantley. Gets all his points 12 feet and in. And he probably can't jump over a phone book.
  17. Where the fuck did that guy come from? I guess I haven't watched Tech much this year but Jizos Christ that dunk was insane.
  18. Yeah the player development guy Beard brought along made his bones early in Lebron's career in Cleveland, which is a big reason why there's so much buzz surrounding Bronny James' interest in us.
  19. I don't know that pace is the #1 issue with players. Our offensive sets often call for 3 or 4 players inside of the 3 point line. Granted we have constant movement, but alignments like that make for limited space when a player has the ball below the foul line extended. .
