  1. I’m much more on board with sprints now that we have separate qualifying and the sprint doesn’t affect starting position in the real race. I think last year’s format was a real issue. This is much better.
  2. Same. He got a raw deal at RB. Williams is giving him the support he deserves and a car that can score points on tracks that suit it. I think Williams will also continue to improve, which will be great for Albon.
  3. Williams. Albon’s doing a good job, but he’s also being flattered by being teamed with 2 of the slowest drivers on the grid in recent memory. If Albon scored a point at Monza last year people would’ve praised him, but De Vries getting all this credit for scoring points in a Williams and now showing he doesn’t deserve to be in F1 is a better reference point for the car than comparing Albon to his teammates. Plus the top 5 teams and McLaren don’t have any openings, so there’s really nowhere better for him to go. Williams is on an uptrend and being the #1 at Williams is his best spot right now.
  4. Is Checo even going to make it through the season? 4 races straight he’s missed Q3 in the fastest car. He won 2 races early in the year and now he’s just nowhere.
  5. 20 posts later from the two of you on the exact same topic, and I can confidently say neither of you have any clue what agree to disagree means.
  6. If that’s how you think he should go, then you should look up the Enumclaw horse case. EJ seems like a prime candidate for another occurrence.
  7. If by conservative, you mean six months behind the curve, then I’d agree with that.
  8. Sounds like Brian Kelly has unleashed the full magnitude of his personality and charisma on the 24 recruits.
  9. I agree this team is similarly talented to last year’s with some different strengths and weaknesses and a lot will come down to team chemistry and ability of the coaching staff to develop as the year goes on. I do find the comparison’s to how far last year’s team made a little weird considering we lost in the EE largely because Disu was out and most of our guards were banged up. We easily could’ve been a final four team last year if we stay healthy. Either way the tournament is wholly unpredictable and comparing how far a similarly talented team last year made it doesn’t have a ton of connection to how far this team will go, good or bad.
  10. It reminds me of the ABC NFL draft coverage from a few years ago where they profiled a family member or close friend’s death for every single draft pick.
  11. They’re the Oprah of the NBA. You get a second rounder! You get a second rounder!
  12. I never said anything about Scoot being the #1 overall pick last year. I just said you comparing him to Ivey showed you had no clue what you were talking about, and you’ve continually proven me right with each successive post.
  13. Damn. I wonder if Portland is aware they just took the 5th pick in the 2022 draft.
  14. Merc has been sounding more and more confident about their correlation and development path since they made the big changes at Monaco. They’re also saying they have some aggressive upgrades coming before the break. It’ll be interesting to see how much Merc and AM can catch up to RB by the end of the season. Combine that with Checo’s struggles and it seems like someone will be able to steal at least one win from RB this year.
  15. You’re constantly twisting his stats in a way that just makes you look worse. He never shot 27% from 3 in a season. He shot 21% in year 1 and then improved to 32.4% in year 2 on higher volume. He’s also a 77% FT shooter, which is a more predictive indicator of NBA 3 point ability. Sites use 3 point shooting and FT shooting at lower levels to predict NBA 3 point percentage, and his predicted percentage is 34.2%. He’s nowhere near as bad of a shooter as you try to make him out to be, and on top of that, he’s a physical freak who’s shown the ability to rack up rebounds and assists and potentially be an elite defender.
  16. They’re not tuning down Checo’s car. Max will wipe the floor with Checo in identical machinery. I think the difference is due to developing the car to Max’s liking. Max likes an extremely pointy car, while Checo prefers an understeery car. The RB was more understeery last year due to a lack of DF with the new regs. Since then, RB has been able to add DF and make the car more or Max’s liking, which widens the gap between him and Checo. Checo preferring an understeery car just exacerbates the situation. Huh? RB has almost double the points of the second place team. They don’t need anything more than they’re getting from Checo to walk away with both championships. Hell, Max might be able to win the constructors by himself this year.
  17. You have absolutely no clue what you’re talking about if you think Scoot and Ivey are comparable prospects.
  18. Yeah, I would certainly like Hudson to be in our class, but he’s currently listed as a composite top 10 prospect in the country. I don’t see that at all. I expect he will drop as we get further in the process.
  19. No. The tyres are super tricky in F2, and drivers struggle with tires more in F2 than F1. The F2 cars are slower and create less downforce, so F1 cars can put energy into their tires quicker.
  20. I don’t really get all the concern from drivers about getting rid of tyre blankets. F2 and F3 don’t use them, and those drivers handle it just fine without having any safety issues.
  21. Yep. Joe Tryon was a 6’5, 230 lb 3 star out of a small town in WA, and PK turned him into a first round pick.
  22. I think it’s supposed to be back up on t Thursday so we shouldn’t miss much Canada GP content at least.
