  1. Don’t think so. Lole was in the class of 2018 and has already used his Covid year, RS year and medical redshirt. Norton will be playing his 6th season this year. Savea has only played 3 seasons, but he started in 21 so no Covid year, and his UCLA bio says he played 10 games his freshman year, so that can’t count as a RS. This will be his final year, unless he gets hurt and counts 2024 as a RS or medical RS.
  2. People have to start learning the difference between DL and DT. We run a 4-2-5. Both DT and DE/edge are DL. We have 3 DL commits in a class of 13 commits right now.
  3. Listen here, Captain Autist. I didn't say he's the only driver that has not had rules consistently enforced. The difference is there have been multiple racing rule changes that stemmed almost entirely from Max's driving. Both the 2016 and 2021 racing rule changes came primarily in response to Max's antics. That's no the case for any other driver. Especially for 2021, the FIA should've clarified they would penalize Max's conduct going forward instead of changing the rules to fit his driving antics.
  4. It's absolutely wild how the FIA has let Max absolutely break driver standards since he joined F1 instead of just consistently enforcing the current rules and making Max adjust. In 2016, they had to clarify/change the rule about moving under braking, but even then the rule is not being enforced cleanly. Then we had all the post-2021 rules that now say you can dive bomb the apex and if you reach it first, you don't have to leave room, which makes absolutely no sense and ruins racing. Why the fuck are they constantly bending over backwards for one driver instead of just penalizing him until he learns how to defend and overtake the right way? Especially in an era where every change they make in the regs is about closer/better racing.
  5. Ferrari has been Ferrari’ing so hard since winning Monaco. Looks like Merc is legitimately a top car now. Crazy how much they’ve turned it around since the start of the season. It does seem like you can make huge jumps in performance in these regs more than previous ones. Both McLaren and Merc have had massive improvements mid-season the last two seasons.
  6. Well, he got it half right. They are absolutely steeped in hollow, fabricated traditions, like bubble guns. In fact, their cultish adherence to these jejune traditions is what drove away the most successful coach they’ve ever had. As for the success part, they won 2 CWS games and averaged less than one appearance per decade for over 75 years before Schloss got there. That puts them right around the median for D1 programs and when you consider only warm weather states are even good at baseball, they’re easily bottom quartile for those schools. But leave it to Texas A&M to fall short of mediocrity yet paint it as exceptionalism. They’ve been doing it for over 150 years now.
  7. Yep. He had an easy opportunity to shut down the question clearly, instead he side-stepped it entirely and walked out. That sounded much more like the response of someone who doesn’t expect to stay but doesn’t want to say that right after his team just lost. It’s wild that some people took that answer to be a sign he’s staying.
  8. TIL UTEX_ME posts on TexAgs as The Weast Side of Kyle.
  9. Logan Sargent to join Prema’s IndyCar team next year. This seems like a win for everyone. Logan wasn’t ready for F1, but he has talent and could definitely develop into a good driver. I’d love to see Pourchaire get picked up by Prema too after he was done dirty by McLaren. https://www.reddit.com/r/INDYCAR/s/4m83GdAyOW
  10. It’s really fucking obvious that list isn’t showing all of our DL. It literally says it’s only showing DEs, not the whole DL. It’s missing Collins, Norton, and Lole. That’s 9 DTs plus 2 commits for 2 starting spots.
  11. Yeah, he’s clearly ahead of everyone else. He’s got a great shot at winning 3 IndyCar titles in 4 years, which is absolutely absurd in a spec series. It would have been fun to see him get a shot in F1, but Piastri going to McLaren ended that. At this point, he should probably just stay in IndyCar and become the best driver ever in that series, unless a top F1 team with a chance at a title comes calling.
  12. you appear to be counting DTs, not all DL, and I don’t know where you’re getting your numbers from, but you should find a different source. We have 9 DTs on the roster, counting Bledsoe. And he’s listed at 293 on the Texas website, which is definitely DT weight, not edge.
  13. You were dead wrong within half an hour of your post. That is extremely impressive, even for Surly. Bravo, sir.
  14. Looking at the lap time charts, both Lando and Charles stayed out 2-3 laps too long in the first stint. Charles especially had too much deg to stay out that long on the first stint. He could beat George for 4th probably. They both lost a lot of time in those last laps in the first stints and didn’t gain enough back on the last two stints because no one had to stretch their tyres that much in the last two stints.
  15. She reminds me of Nico. Both are kind of raw and still new enough to commentating that they just give their opinions unfiltered, which creates some really good insights. Feels like the rest of the Sky crew have been doing this stuff for so long that they just regurgitate the same comments every race.
  16. I’m not a fan of Danica generally and she’s not well suited for being a full commentator, but she’s actually doing a great job trackside giving insights that are hard to tell from TV, like talking about late breaking, stability, and ride over the curbs. I like Brundle, but a lot of times he falls into the same talking points he’s been making for decades now and he doesn’t give much real insight race to race on stuff like this.
  17. Yeah, he’s a decent talent, but not F1 level. I’d like to see him get a shot in IndyCar after this. I think it could be good for him. His good races would stand out and the shitty ones would be overlooked while he develops.
  18. Why wouldn’t I be good? The last race I remember was Charles Leclerc winning his home race in Monaco. It does seem like an unnecessarily long gap til Barcelona, though.
  19. My guess for silly season: Haas: Ocon and Bearman. Merc: Antonelli VCARB: Danny Ric and Lawson. Williams: Sainz Audi: Tsunoda Alpine: Zhou. They need the money and want sales in China. And it’s not like they’re trying to run a competitive F1 team anyways.
  20. This is the good shit. Bo Davis having sway with (but not yet actually flipping) a guy he got to commit to Texas is a clear sign he’s recruiting at a much higher level at LSU than he was at Texas. Nevermind that he hasn’t actually gotten any commitments and he just completely struck out on landing a single quality DT transfer on a team whose DT depth chart is in more trouble than the buttons on one of Elko’s blazers.
  21. Checo re-signed for two more years at Red Bull. The Constructor’s title fight is on for the next three seasons boyz! I saw one guy reporting it’s a 1+1 with a team option, which would make more sense. Still kind of shocked they stayed with Checo when Sainz is available. I guess they think giving Max the absolute best possible shot at WDC over the next 2 years is way more important than the WCC.
  22. Ocon was already planning to leave so this announcement is more about timing by Alpine and them trying to save face amidst being an absolute dumpster fire of a team/organization. Maybe. He's still a good driver, despite his teammate issues. There's been a lot of rumors about Ocon to Haas, it's unclear whether that's to replace K Mag or take Bearman's spot alongside K Mag. An Ocon-K Mag might be one of the most entertainingly crashy lineups in the history of F1. If Haas doesn't work out, then his options could get thin. I would think Sauber/Audi would be his only option after that since Sainz doesn't seem to want to go there. It's interesting. A lot of rumors are popping up that Sainz may choose Williams over Sauber/Audi next year. Seems like a weird choice, but apparently Audi wants Sainz locked in for many years, while Williams would give him flexibility to jump teams if a better spot opens up in the next year or two.
  23. Yeah, they've definitely been a huge beneficiary of NIL. They still have the issue of a huge chunk of their state being OU fans, though. Mizzou winning more and having NIL funds will cut into OU's natural ties and recruiting so I'm all for it.
