  1. It's interesting that when people know they're wrong they always resort to name calling.
  2. I said they were elite vs blowu, but 4.6 ypp is not good against the #107 ranked offense. Guess who else held them to 4.6 ypp - fucking Toledo. And USC (who has generally sucked this year) held them to 3.9 ypp, GA 4.2. If KY were even a top 50 offense I would've never made my post about the defense, I woulda said great job. But they were not elite in this game and certainly weren't elite vs FL. SJSU has a much better offense than KY and even UTEP has a higher ranked offense than KY. If you think 4.6 ypp is elite against an offense as bad as KY's then you have no clue what you're talking about.
  3. You made my point right there. The defense has only been elite 1 time this year, and Mateer helped them. The defense had what could be called 7 culture wins last year. And I don't think holding KY to 7/18 on 3rd down is very good against an offense that's not even in the top 100. And they were bad vs FL. The defense simply should have been better vs the #107 ranked offense. And they let KY get in FG range in 51 seconds.
  4. The defense also gave up 400 yards of offense, 26 first downs and an 80% completion rate to a RS Freshman QB and an offense not even in the top 100. The Texas defense was on the field for 40+ minutes because they couldn't ever get a 3 & out. It also put the offense in bad starting position multiple times making things even worse for an offense that already sucks. That was not a culture win for the defense. The SEC Roll Call video explains exactly why KY lost, not why Texas won. The Texas D went 100% in on KY running it right into the strength of the D. Anything else Texas loses that game, and KY scores 20+ in regulation if they had a coach with a brain. Thankfully Texas was playing the dumbest Stoops that's ever lived.
  5. Reality is you're probably right. He seems more interested in showing off his arm strength than making an accurate pass.
  6. I would say Quinn got significantly better from 22 to 23, but the regression in 24 is telling.
  7. Sure, but why was Texas in that situation? The Texas defense let KY drive down the field multiple times from the very start of the game, and got worn down. #107 offense KY had more than double the TOP, 26 first downs, 395 yards, multiple 3rd down conversions over and over again, failed to contain Boley, etc. Reality is the defense could not get off the field against a sorry offense. Yes, they made a great goal line stand, but allowed KY to get to the goal line in 3 plays. And let them get in field goal range in 51 seconds. (Thanks to coach and players for not running out the clock) Thankfully Stoops is a lot dumber than his brother. That game is a C+ for the defense at best. Of course the offense was an F-. Niblett is what won that game.
  8. You have nearly 25k posts and you just now figured that out?
  9. So why no Glen Campbell or John Denver?
  10. Texas' serving was much worse than that against Bama. They better get their shit together before the real competition. I don't get why all of the sudden it's a problem when they were doing really good until recently. It seems to hit like a virus. One starts sucking and then they all do. No reason for it, serving just isn't that difficult.
  11. I said that should've been a penalty. Don't worry, if Texas does that in Athens it'll be a personal foul and targeting.
  12. Better yes, but maybe 10% better, but not 100%, which is what Texas needed. There were no holes. More running plays might have helped but it's not what Texas needed. There were some good holes in the first few carries vs ou. It was a stark contrast. You said ou was susceptible to the OZ. FL was not, there were no holes and there never would have been big holes if the game lasted all day. What Texas needed to win that game was for the defense to get stops and they couldn't.
  13. It depends on what you mean by get going. He had a couple of 5 yarders and a 15 yarder called back due to a hold, which was questionable. There were no holes at all against FL, NONE. Ricky coulda been back there and it woulda been like Ricky vs Kansas state in 1998.
  14. I would think someone making a post like this could at least get the result vs Toledo correct.
  15. Seems like he sucks. Probably should transfer to St. Ed's while he can still redshirt.
  16. I think Cooper is that. Similar to Jamal, maybe not as fast.
  17. My comment was just a general comment after a great run, but I agree Sark and co. haven't done to well at RB. No school has a great RB every year for an extended period in time. RB has certainly been one of the better positions since I've been watching Texas FB. As I said, Baxter, Gibson and Clark would not have been at the top of my list. Simon may end up being the best since Bijan, but only slightly better than Wisner. I do believe Cooper can be a difference maker. He looks like the real deal.
  18. I said before the season started his numbers were built on a crappy WAC schedule and he did nothing against a good defense. And I knew the Hypsman crap was BS. But I have to disagree about the surgery not affecting him. I've had my share of broken bones and I know for a fact your control is not back in 17 days. Painkillers may take away the pain but they can't give you back all the feeling and control. When I broke my scapula it didn't even start hurting until 3 hours later and it's a good thing my mother insisted I go to the hospital because the x-ray showed a break which shocked me. Then it started hurting like hell and woulda gone crazy without the codeine they gave me. That could explain why it didn't affect him at Auburn. Breaks can be weird things. Mateer had screws put in his finger. There's just no way it didn't have some affect only 17 days afterward.
  19. Texas had a great run so maybe a couple of 4*'s that are really 3 at best is probably expected. Certainly Roschon, Brooks and Wisner exceeded expectations and there should've been a special 6* for Bijan. But I have to say none of Baxter, Gibson, Clark looked like difference makers when I watched their video.
  20. If Stroh is going to run the ball he won't get 2 ft before he's tackled.
  21. That's the greatest mystery of the season so far, but I think it was a combination of the different schemes used and Brooks making improvement. But I warned FL has talent and it won't be Billy's clown show when they play Texas.
  22. The RB would be tackled before Stroh got to the LOS. Maybe Kanu could become a Hero by playing the Roy Miller role and actually resolving the the short yardage issues.
  23. Only if it's a true difference maker like Hardy, but not a Gibson level of talent. That would just be another scholarship waste just like Johnson at DT. And Baxter needs to take another RS and get healed. 2 games on, 2 games off provides no value to the team. OTOH, now with 2 gone, 2 injuries like last year it's going to be going from a loaded RB room to paper thin. Keep Baxter out until he's a necessity.
  24. The pain may not have been a factor, but I have no doubt it affected his ability to control the ball. Reality is he shouldn't been playing and dumb to risk a career to just to beat Texas and it bit them in the ass. Hawkins couldn't have been worse and probably would've been better.
