  1. Kreul announcing Aug 12 OTF considers Texas the trending school over OU and Ole Miss - as of today
  2. Bobby Burton Posted 1 hour ago We mentioned this morning that Jonah Williams is practicing more completely with the team. Now we can report fellow blue chip freshman DB Kade Phillips is no longer truly limited either. Both had been nursing hamstring issues to start training camp. One more note: Williams has seen brief action as a kick returner. ** I’m told freshman wide receiver Kaliq Lockett seems to be improving on a regular basis. While Daylan McCutcheon had been the first freshman receiver to become “reliable”, Lockett appears next in line. It should be noted, all four freshman receivers have looked good during camp. Lockett, Jamie Ffrench and even Michael Terry have narrowed the gap that was so evident in spring between themselves and McCutcheon. ** Graceson Littleton drew yet more praise. Xavier Filsaime also seems to be moving in the right direction. But perhaps the best news in the secondary is the health and progress of Derrick Williams. I’m told Williams looked especially good on Monday morning. ** I was also told that on Monday morning, CJ Baxter continued to look good. He “has not been hesitant all camp.” ** Based on what I have heard, I’d say Maraad Watson and Alex January are your most likely day one starters at DT. I am told Watson is surprisingly athletic and January has just been all business during camp, but really extending back to a point in early winter workouts. ** Obviously, this is all from yesterday. The team starts Tuesday’s practice just about now (3pm CT).
  3. He also said that Jonah Williams was a full participant.
  4. Seems like On3/Rivals going for that ESPN approach. Probably only a matter of time before they try and purchase 247 as well.
  5. It’s interesting that they only wear them in college.
  6. How are the two comparable? Taaffe was ass until last year. Parker hasn’t played a season yet.
  7. Just signed Tyler Huntley as well.
  8. Yeah he has potential to be a top 5 pick as a safety
  9. IF it weren't for his injuries and eventually rapeyness Quinn would have had potentially two 1st rounds or at best the exact same as year before in a 1st and 2nd rounder. Lets not act like the talent dropped off so much.
  10. Bobby Burton I was reminded by someone yesterday that most of the first week is always “install” for the coming season. That means getting players - all players, not just the first-line units - to understand key aspects of the offense and defense, and doing the things in live action that the coaches have talked about and shown to the players on the proverbial chalkboard for months. Install is mostly a learning phase of training camp. But it’s also an opportunity for coaches to see which players can ingest (or have already ingested) the material and put it into practice. That ingestion allows for some freshmen or younger players to a get a head start. Graceson Littleton is a perfect example. The freshman from the Tampa-St. Pete area is stacking together multiple positive practices, enough so for one insider to already say, “he’s definitely going to play this year.” Now, whether that will be as a starter or a key back-up is yet to be determined. But Littleton’s absorption of the team’s defense, along with his athletic ability, showcases the value of being ready the day practice starts. Even in a somewhat crowded and definitely talented secondary, Littleton will play in 2025. A lot. Note to myself and everyone else who attempts to rank recruits: Never underestimate the mental aspect of sport. ** Outside of his ability to understand what defensive coaches want him to do, Littleton is said to have elite closing speed. When he sees something, he goes. ** People ask all the time if there’s an underrated player on the Texas defense. I typically respond with Ethan Burke because Burke is overshadowed by Colin Simmons. Or I mention Brad Spence because Spence was so underrated as a portal pick-up. But, in retrospect, I wonder if the right answer to that question now isn’t Trey Moore. Moore is lining up all over the field in camp, giving the defense multiple looks and variety. No offense to Burke, who I think will have a fine senior campaign, or Spence, who could be a real factor as a pass rusher, but based on feedback I’ve received, I think Moore is going to be a more integral piece of the puzzle than folks realize. ** The team gets going in full pads for the first time this morning. Practice starts right around 9am. It’ll be the first time the group tackles to the ground and gets truly “physical”. Hook’Em!
  11. I am thinking we are going to attack opponents offenses from any and every position with our front 7.
  12. It’s pretty dope. How’s life below the rim?
  13. Just because he was better than QBs during that time frame and our teams were infinitely less talented doesn’t mean it was because of him. Quinn was an above average to good QB for us, nothing more nothing less. He didn’t elevate the team Maalik Murphy was 2-0 that season including beating Kansas St.
  14. So the argument is the WNBA would exist and be as popular as it is without the NBA footing the bill?
  15. Hays Co BBQ trailer already shutting down I read
  16. Elite conference! Should have won regardless of Quinn
  17. Good, not very good. Certainly not championship caliber.
  18. Don’t even bother. Same generation wearing sweats during summer.
