  1. Good lord, man. I clearly meant that the state law applies and I have said multiple times that the regulation can be easily changed by BLM. You're talking about conflict of laws principles, I wasn't. Once more: I was only commenting that state law applies under the current regulation. You're def a whole weirdo for still trying to debate this when I already said "controls" wasn't the best word choice.
  2. This is an impressive level of pedantry, sir. You're right, I should have used a word other than controls. I wouldn't call it a disagreement, though; I was clear that the BLM chose to create the regulation despite the property clause and they can just as easily repeal it. The end.
  3. That's correct, BLM makes BLM regulations like the one that extends state and local law to their lands despite the property clause.
  4. In my mind, our form of government has been doomed ever since our two-party, first past the post election system became entrenched. Murdoch, internet trash like facebook and assorted other evil bastards merely sped it along.
  5. That was my initial reaction as well, but like I posted above, I think the idea is that it limits the injustice to the single act of relocating slaves across the Atlantic. After that everything was cool! Get over it!
  6. Same. The beginning of Amistad fucked me up. I knew that they didn't have a pleasant cruise over here, of course, but I had no idea how awful that was, and hadn't really thought about it before I saw that.
  7. State law controls on BLM property, per BLM regulations. I reckon that could be changed though.
  8. Haha wtf? Involuntary relocation aka kidnapping doesn't even make it sound better. I guess the idea is to whitewash all the horrors that happened after the relocation was complete.
  9. By becoming even more bitter and misanthropic, tbh.
  10. Several of these companies own my ass. Sad.
  11. Lol the last sentence doesn't make any sense in context.
  12. For clarity: that had already happened. This decision was that it's daddy Fox Corp is potentially liable for Fox News' fuckery.
  13. Yes this is one of several drawbacks to being a lawyer. What kind of lawyer are you? Some in-house gigs don't require local licensure, and from what I hear, a lot of them allow you to work remotely these days.
  14. I'm sure there are plenty of Trumpers who'd hire her to lose their case.
  15. The unselect thing is one of the all-time worst attempts at an insult. Dotard apparently thinks it's a hell of a zinger, because he uses it every time he discusses the committee.
  16. I got you, I realized what you meant. And you're right, there is danger aside from the precedent. But we can't avoid enforcing our laws because of concern about what these terrorists will do (which is not to imply you are saying otherwise; I'm sure you agree).
  17. Cool, just blame it on supply and demand even though gas prices are staying high even when the oil price decreases. Greedy mendacious cocksucker.
  18. Whenever Biden leaves the presidency, some Trumpist district attorney will call a grand jury to look into some nonsense about him.
  19. It's a nice norm to have, but it's one that a treasonous norm breaking and law breaking piece of shit shouldn't get the benefit of. And we can be above political prosecutions in general while making an exception for the truly unprecedented and unrestrained level of criming that we saw from Cult 45.
  20. I don't understand the danger. The argument is that the Rs will try to do the same to Biden and any other Dem prez in the future...as if these crazy motherfuckers aren't going to do that regardless. The Dems need to get over this idea that they need to abide by some unwritten rulebook to keep the Rs or else the Rs will do whatever. They're going to do the worst shit no matter what you do.
  21. Because arsonists aren't as soft and cuddly as they may seem.
  22. It's insane that we may never get the real full story about what happened in Uvalde. It's totally fucking unacceptable. Everyone should riot if they're really going to try to keep a lid on this forever.
  23. Rafael knows the people that vote for him are dumb as fuck. Why bother with facts and logic when you can just make believe?
