You’re missing the entire point of what I said when pulling that quote out. It’s not that they are more talented than us that we are going to lose- it’s all the other stuff. We aren’t at a talent disadvantage with them.
-
I mean- maybe? Maybe not. Maybe go fuck yourself gif. They should have been beat by Auburn and Florida but for some ref fuckery. They got beat by Bama about like we got beat by Ohio State. Last year we outplayed them big time in the SEC title game. We had more guys get drafted last year. Our ratings in recruiting and portal are pretty much the same. If they are better than us (or the other way around) it’s marginal and not the reason they beat us was the point I was making. The coaching, home field, luck or refs would probably be more likely to be the cause of a loss for us than “they are better than us”.

Either or both SC and Oregon at 10-2 will absolutely be in the playoffs. It seems unlikely that they both will finish 10-2. Lot of loseable games on the schedule for each team and the only way they could both be 10-2 is if USC wins at Oregon which won’t be how the game is favored to go.

Holy shit you dipshits: 9-3 Texas is probably in the playoffs
Wulaw Horn replied to Wulaw Horn's topic in Football
We’d be tied in conference. They played utter and complete shit in non conference, if they lost that would be a loss to Florida (probably) and Georgia, but we have better wins by far than them. I’m not saying it’s a guarantee or anything- but that should be how it all sorts out. Again, if it isn’t then the committee is full of shit when it says it wants marquee OOC games bc a 10-2 Texas which is what we’d be if we scheduled Wazzu instead of Ohio State white all over a 10-2 Ole Miss. I’m not guaranteeing it would go that way but go pencil in a loss to Florida (at home) or MSST (road) and tell me what possible justification you could have for having Ole Miss over us. -
Read what I wrote I said definitely getting in above us for a reason because I was responding to a moron who said absolutely no chance if we lose to GA. Every computer has 9/3 texas north of 70% ringer in. It’s not a metaphysical certainty or anything but to say no chance is idiotically dumb. mall those teams you were talking about getting in probably have losses ahead of them. Michigan. Georgia Tech, USC, OU will all be prohibitive favorites to not win out. We just need that to happen. If it doesn’t we also have river card outs with the chance for Oregon to lose twice, MSST to lose to Florida or Ole Miss or Domers to lose. No chance with a loss to Georgia? Incredibly fucking dumb man. That’s what I was replying to.

Yes. That would be the way 9-3 Texas probably gets left out. -

Wulaw Horn replied to Wulaw Horn's topic in Football
Sure. In the same way Ole Miss losing to Florida or Mississippi State isn’t far fetched. Or diners losing at Pitt isn’t far fetched. If GA tech beat Georgia we’d need one of those other things to happen which would move Texas past Domers or the 4th team in the SEC. I think 10-2 Ole Miss should be behind 9-3 Texas. -
That’s a bracket we could absolutely win it all. Tech, Indiana and aggy to get to the title game? Yes please.

I can’t fathom Ga Tech beating Georgia, but probably. Again, everyone says maybe Texas can make it in if there’s total carnage. That’s not what we want. We want order. OSU over Michigan. Georgia over Georgia tech. Alabama over Oklahoma. ISC dropping one of their remaining 3 (all tough) games. Just regular normal shit and Texas is good. I’ve got the odds of a 9-3 Texas in now up to about 80 or 85% in my mind. -

Yep. And stay ahead of OU as well. -
I don’t typically tend to notice names unless they a sociopaths, absolute and utter morons, or awesome, consistently, all the time. Or, Sydney Carton who’s none of the above but I notice. Maybe he should be on my always ignore but that’s Helo level dumb for me to really notice.

And that one more/ I think- could even be in the conference championship game, but it’d be better if it was regular season. They will have some chances. They aren’t very good. I could see them finishing 9-3. -

Are you of the opinion there’s anyway a 10-2 Texas isn’t in? Or we just talking seeding here? -
Games I wish we would schedule, solely for the road trip
Wulaw Horn replied to hornian's topic in Football
A game in Australia against a mid tier P4 school would be awesome. Something like Ga Tech or Wake Forest or Michigan state of the like. Schedule that year would need to be something like- Australia- Week 0, off- week 1, cupcake game, Week 2, big time OOC game week 3. Texas would own 2 of the 4 weeks on the pre season schedule as a big time OOC games typically don’t happen in Week 3. Domers can’t be super picky not being in a conference so they’d probably be happy to do that. It would be pretty great actually and worth not having a game week 1. Between that and a cupcake week 2 the travel should be just fine and you’d be ready to go when the games get serious. won’t happen but would be cool. my away game list: SDSU, USC, Stanford, Washington, Nevada, UNLV, Wyoming, Colorado, Utah, BYU, Wisconsin, Northwestern, Domers, Minnesota, Michigan, Tulane, Memphis, Ga Tech, UVA, West Va, Maryland, Wake Forest, NC, NC State, Duke, Miami, temple, Rutgers, Boston College, any Ivy League school would be kind of fun, and if we did that in a year where we had a strong P2 team on our schedule at home, and a UTEP type nobody should say shit about it. Dartmouth? Sign me up. Sounds like fun and pretty country up there. Obviously would never happen just like Australia but think it would be neat. -

Wulaw Horn replied to Wulaw Horn's topic in Football
If you want Michigan to beat OsU and Texas to still make it to the playoffs at 9-3 you need Oregon to lose two games and USC to lose 1. Root big time for Iowa to beat SC eliminating them, and then root for Oregon to lose 2. But it would definitely be simpler for Michigan to go 9-3. -
Also- BYU is not going to be ranked ahead of us in the CFP polls this week. Y’all need to stop being morons.
-
For fucks sake this is so fucking dumb. Name the 7 non conference winning title teams that will definitely get in above us if we go 9-3. Seriously- do the work and show it here. It’s a really dumb statement you just made

I don’t know man- it’s certainly not in any way good for us. That would put Michigan in the big 10 title game and I just don’t see any way a big 10 title game participant gets left out in this day and age. Especially now that they don’t have divisions where you could get a fluke and a shit team gets through. You’d be asking them to leave a 10-3 big 10 runner up out in favor of 9-3 Texas- or if Michigan won they’d be an auto bid and Indiana would sure be in. We want Michigan to lose in a game theory 9-3 Texas gets in sense. Now- if Texas is 10-2? I’m rooting hard for Michigan. -
The last 3 weeks I basically said “we ain’t losing to no Kentucky, MSST or Vandy” bc we are better than all them and they are bottom tier shit schools. Guess what? Losers know how to lose, and Kentucky was slightly more interested in losing that game than we were and MSST snatched defeat from the jaws of victory like I knew they could. Vandy just isn’t near as good as us. Plucky overachievers that aren’t schematically unique tend to get drilled by uber talented Big State U, which is what happened when they played Bama and us, and I suspect that might happen when they get TN later in the year. This though, this is different. Until I see differently I’m going to go with “we ain’t beating no Georgia”. Unless we do. There are certainly things we could do to make that happened. I just don’t trust Arch, Sark our OL, our RB or our receivers to come out and be excellent. I’m also not sure I trust PK to scheme anything unique against their offense where the defense more or less single handedly wins the game for us. Could it happen? Sure. I just have to see it first before I believe it. Georgia isn’t better than us. They get us at home- advantage them. We get them off a bye and a team that should be healthy and have game planned for them for 2 weeks. Advantage us. Kirby Smart apparently controls the refs. Advantage them. We have played like absolute shit on the road all year with at least one of our units (offense v OSU, defense v Florida- though O wasn’t great, offense v Kentucky and defense v MSST). We need a complete game, called well by the coaches and officiated cleanly to win. It also would help if the ball bounced our way just once- unlike the 6 bad breaks we got in the SEC title game last year. That seems like a lot. I’m betting against it until I see it.

Wulaw Horn replied to Wulaw Horn's topic in Football
Ok, that was just about a perfect week for us. The ACC was absolutely eliminated with VA and Louisville both taking their second loss of the season. It’s a 1 bid league unless you are so stupid that you think a 10-3 ACC loser is getting in over a 9-3 Texas (in theory). we need the big 10 to be a 3 bid league. That means that we want teams 4 on down to have at least 3 losses. Iowa picked up the magical 3rd loss and so did Washington. The only Big 10 teams that can now finish at 10-2 are Michigan and USC. USC should lose at least one with home games with Iowa and UCLA and a road game at Oregon. Michigan will be heavily favored to lose to Ohio State. Root hard for Oregon and Ohio State to win out- that would make the big 10 a 3 bid league. I’ve got the Domers in. Would a loss to Navy have been hilarious and helpful? Sure. It wasn’t going to happen. Look- if they want to lose to Pitt or something and end up 9-3 and miss the playoffs I’m all for it, but I’m not counting on that being a scenario to get Texas in at 9-3, that’s just a bonus. Every team we needed to win to bolster our resume won. Aggy will almost assuredly be ranked in the top 2 or 3 when we play them. Georgia will be ranked 5. Ohio State #1. OU and Vandy somewhere between 10 and 15. That’s not a team that gets left out. That leaves the big 12. We wanted Tech to drill BYU. That happened. I think Tech is the best team in that conference, but the way to absolutely make sure 9-3 Texas were to go over another Big 1/ teams is to have tech win out and BYU lose to Cincinnati or someone else. A second regular season loss for either tech or BYU I think guarantees the Big 12 is a 1 bid league- so go ahead and root for tech to lose to UCF or West Virginia (or just win out big) Or BYU to lose to TCU, a Cincinnati or UCF. Again- I’m about 80% sure a 9-3 Texas goes over an 11-2 BYU, but one more loss for them wouldn’t hurt my feelings. that’s it Boys/ it’s looking pretty much like this: SEC 5, Big 10 3, Domers, big 12, ACC, group of 5. lots of you idiots have said we need chaos or carnage. Nope. Not anymore. We need order honestly with Ohio state and Oregon taking care of business and making the big 10 a 3 team league. That’s pretty much it. If you want to be really really super duper concerned and scared that Texas gets in at 9-3 for sure and for certain root for that in the Big 10 plus (one of) Domers loss, Ole Miss loss, BYU or Tech loss, Georgia Tech loss. I don’t think any of that stuff in the last is necessary, but it certainly wouldn’t hurt. I suppose there is a world where OU won out and finished 10-2 above us if we were to go 9-3 and the SEC 5 teams finished: Aggy, Ole Miss, Bama, Georgia all with 1 loss and then Texas, OU, Vandy with 2 losses. We’d go ahead of Vandy at 10-2 for them, but behind 10-2 OU. So, root for a sooner loss for sure. Which you always should do. So, there you have it we are at the point in time where 9-3 Texas is almost a shorting chaos happens. Ohio state over Michigan, USC losing to Oregon or Iowa, OU losing to Bama (or lsu or Missou). Tech winning the Big 12 comfortably big over BYU or BYu picking up another loss somewhere else now- go win me $1000 by going 10-2 or prove me right by getting in at 9-3. Just don’t go 8-4 and watch aggy celebrate 12-0 on DKR. -
2026 NFL Draft way too early thread of idiot mock drafts and discussion

To be clear the Moore I had getting drafted is Trey Moore. I don't think DeAndre goes and if he did I'm not sure if he'd get drafted. -

I had Wisner as in the maybe not b/c I don't think he'd get drafted but b/c I think he might come back for NIL over being like 4th or 6th round draft pick. Goosby would absolutely get taken, and he's graded out as a top 5 tackle (I think) amongst draft eligible tackles). He will get better with another year of reps and strength training- but you can say the same about everyone. I will assume he's gone until he's not, and if he's not that will make me very happy. -

Wulaw Horn replied to tx 3 putt's topic in Football
Drafted as of right now: Ant hill, Taaffe, Burke, Moore, Goosby, McDonald, Manny M, could happen: Wisner, Brevard, Shaw, Kanu, Guilbeau. I have no idea how many Jag type DT’s will get drafted. All 3 of the Texas guys have played somewhere between really solidly and fine and are big enough and seemingly could serve a function, but none are obviously impact guys. If you told me no chance or absolutely will on any of them I’d shrug my shoulders and say ok. Guilbeau didn’t have the leap forward I’d hoped for. If he tests well is someone going to take a shot? Maybe. Wisner would get drafted for 3rd down back/special teams. He’d be a good RB3 for a team with 2 good backs imo. That seems like 6th rounder waiting to happen. Would be rather come back for NIL? Dunno. -

What if we lose by 3 after outplaying them and complete and utter ref fuckery and best arky by 28 and aggy by 14? Losses are binary in that they have to be either 0 or 1 (as are wins of course) but they don’t tell the entire story, obviously. if we see the defense from the first 7 weeks of the season paired with the offense from the last 2 weeks can beat anyone in the country with average luck. this team likely isn’t good enough to win anything of importance but it is a top 10 team in the country (I think) so I’d like to see us get into the playoffs and see what happens. my top 10 (in no particular order) is: Ohio state, Indiana, Domers, Bama, Georgia, Texas, Aggy, tech, pick 2: Ole Miss, OU, Oregon, BYU, Iowa, USC, Utah, Vandy, Miami, Louisville. gun to my head I’d probably say Miss and OU from that group to round out what I think are the best 10 teams in the country this year. I’m not sure which OU that is. These aren’t rankings just what I think quality of teams are after watching everyone play at least two full games and seeing lots of bits and pieces of games with my 4 TV at all times set up. -
Why? So that the game could completely suck, everyone could have shit all to watch (instead of bama v Michigan in OT in the rose bowl) and Michigan could essentially have a bye? It was a billion percent the right decision.
