  1. Do you even Caldwell bro? They had a place that used to sell dirt cheap snuff there that I always stopped at when on the road from College Station to Austin.
  2. Half the years they miss out on an extra home game. the biggest sec pussies right now play 8 home games. Those home games are probably worth somewhere around 5 or 6M dollars a game in tix and another couple million in concessions and other shit. That’s offset by paying 2 million or so to the sacrificial lamb. So/ if you go to 9 games then some years you have 8 home games (3 OOC and 5 of the 9 on conference) but some years you only have 7 home games (3 out of conference and only 4 out of 9 ion conference) you treated every year the same (and that’s true on getting the extra 6M in tv money, but in the years where they have one less home games they lose a net 4M on gate and concessions, meaning it’s only an extra million or two that year, while the year they have 8 home games in a 9 game SEC schedule it’s more like 10M windfall. I think that’s right but I didn’t say you are wrong, as I might be missing something in my calculations or being dumb.
  3. I don’t understand your math here. That seems like the math for the year you don’t lose a home game- the other year you lose a home game worth roughly 4 or 5M net bringing that down to something like an extra 1M is all every other year, right? Or am I being dumb and missing something? so/ it averages out to an extra 4M a year is all. I could see plenty of schools thinking that wasn’t worth the chance at. It making a bowl. This is a conference full of morons that talk shit and are actually pussies. They should have welcomed aggy better than they did because that’s certainly their MO.
  4. They paid way more of Presley’s salary the. They needed to in order to get that guy. They also tried to get him in the Cam Smith deal. There is something about him that the pitching staff liked, so, I have high hopes. The Astros clearly have a different way of doing things pitching development wise, nice to see him have that really solid outing. I’ve got moderately high hopes for him as a A guy.
  5. Also, seeing Jake make a great catch coming in yesterday was interesting. He runs some balls in the gao like crazy. He’s a really good OF. But, he’s got his glove on 2 balls in the last week that he hasn’t caught. Oth of them on the warning track running back towards the wall. He is absolutely terrified of the wall. I get it. It messed up his career big time. But, it literally cost us the game on Monday a day after Dezenzo dropping a pretty easy fly ball cost us the game Sunday. 3 losses, both with the catchable balls not being caught directly not ending innings and leading to 4 and 3 runs respectively in 1 run losses. Really frustrating because 20-16 feels so much better than 18-18.
  6. 70 wins? dude, step away from the ledge.
  7. Yeah but it was more of a show pitch than his out pitch as I recall. He always went soft to try to k people/ fastball was to keep them off balance.
  8. Dezenzo should be in the lineup every day. So should Cam. It's really easy to do with Yordan out. Play altuve at 2b when Yordan gets back if both those guys look like they deserve AB's. This is not that hard. Espada makes everything harder (and dumber) than it needs to be. That 5th inning with 2 runs on 0 hits was sexy. We apparently need more rank incompentence from our opponents to score.
  9. Espada needs to be fired into the sun. I’m aware he didn’t likely call either of those bunts but he’s created an atmosphere where that dumbassery can happen.
  10. Jake has to make that catch. That’s 4 runs that could have been prevented. also, fuck this team.
  11. I wouldn’t have traded a highly protected 2nd round pick for Dame (or Beal) and I said that at the time. Both of them made way too much money to not even be worth paying them for the players they were.
  12. KD would be #1 choice for the offseason shopping. If he's not available I'd think hard about Giannis. You can win a title with him and whatever is left after you make that deal- for sure. Giannis would have to want to come here before I'd trade for him, obviously. It's really hard to find anyone else to get super excited to add to the team that I feel like would put over the top (at least that makes any kind of sense). It's got to be a top 10 player or it's not worth making a big trade I'd think. It's not like they have to do anything.
  13. Giannis is so good that you just figure it out. Sengun would be going out so you still have your big, and you have 4 other floor spacers and drivers ideally to play off of him. You just want a top 5 guys so you have the best player in the series all the way through. Those are usually the teams that win those series. But yeah- KD, if he can stay healthy, probably puts this team over the top if it's Jabari and cap filler going out for him.
  14. Yep. Also, Bregman is smart so that's why (I'm sure) he didn't take Detroit's money even though it was the highest offer and went to Boston and Fenway to attempt to rebuild his value on the pillow deal. Paredes has basically been an all star everywhere he's been except for 2.5 months in Wrigley. Wrigley has that cutout down the left field line where it actually gets sort of deep down that line. That wasn't helping Paredes. That ballpark plays smaller to the alley's and CF than it does down the lines which is the opposite of what Paredes wants. Also- if you want a super quick cheat code to what you should think of a pitcher beyond pounding the strike zone and swing and miss you should look at Pull side Fly Ball avoidance.
  15. This is almost 100% right. Guys that hit the ball hard (if their strike out rates aren't terrible) are absolutely the best hitters. Altuve at 11th from bottom in avg EV isn't a big deal- he's always been below average at that (as has Paredes). You can succeed with low EV in a couple ways... don't strike out while spraying the ball a lot, or have a profile heavily stacked to fly balls to the pull side. Fly balls to the pull side are HR's way more than any other type of balls hit- and they don't have to be hit all that hard. Doubly so this is true at Daikan park. Altuve his entire career has done both these things. Paredes his entire career has excelled at the second. There are some other guys who can make a living without hitting the ball particularly hard- but it's threading a needle.
  16. I'd probably move Jalen Green above Shepard but the cut line of guys I wouldn't include in a deal would end after Sengun, so... it wouldn't be about my preference it would be about my trading partners preference more than anything. I'd move Sengun for Giannis in a heartbeat. Other than that though your 1 & 2 would be untouchable.
  17. I'd send out Jabari in a KD deal without even blinking. I imagine that would have to be FVV, Jabari and others for cap purposes for KD, right?
  18. Podcast could be summed up in a couple sentences that we did last night: 1) Your team can't be good if Pena and Meyers are your 2 best position players. 2) a plausible top 5 going into the season would have been: Yordan, Altuve, Walker, Diaz and Framber. They are undoubtedly in the top 7 or 8 going into the year. They've combined so far for -0.2 war. This team can't win with that being the case. Thank you Jeff Bagwell.
  19. Episode 102 (mislabeled 101) where it gets a bit dark.
  20. It’s the only reason he signed the extension he did, so I guess I’m ok with it.
  21. I sure has hell hope this has been bothering him all year and that would explain why he's basically sucked dick all year and is an 86 ops+ guy.
  22. I actually think Cam smith is pretty good in RF. Chase is fine everywhere but he’s actually a really solid LF. chas/Meyers/Smith is actually a really good defensive OF. But yeah, no need to say likely on meyers being the best OF defender on the team.
  23. He scored the winning run after a steal on a pitch out. I’m still gonna give him credit for doing us in.
  24. Feels like we dodged a bullet there that it was only a single. That guy owns our ass. Every time they beat us he’s basically the reason why. He was never getting a decision he didn’t go 5.
