  1. Possibly the worst innovation of sports broadcasting in my lifetime
  2. Incomplete pass?!?!?!
  3. Nice
  4. Can we hire Pittman to coach our O-line when Arkansas fires him?
  5. TCU got screwed. That play should have at least gotten a review.
  6. Aren’t both of them out this week?
  7. I know, I’ve been watching Tennessee mercilessly and efficiently march up and down the field on an overmatched opponent and wish we could pull that off against a tomato can like SHSU.
  8. Hoover looks sharp
  9. You all are missing the point. We’ve gone from “we could only run against OSU because they played a light box” to “we can’t run against UTEP playing a light box.”
  10. My gestalt take on everything we’ve seen so far is that, like you said earlier, he was very troubled, but not delusional/psychopathic. He’s a smart kid but has failed to launch. The fact that he is in a romantic relationship with a biological male furry that is transitioning to female probably means he’s a closeted gay man and feels resentful of the strict religious/conservative culture in Utah. He’s aimless, without purpose, and spends most of his time in online communities that are not explicitly political, but to the extent politics are discussed everyone holds the opinions of the average Bluesky or CR poster and Republicans are considered fascists. When he hears Charlie Kirk is coming to his university he gets the idea into his head that he has the chance for meaning in his life, to slay a dragon that he perceives as a danger to his lover and who is universally reviled in the online circles he frequents. He sees a chance to “stop the hatred” not understanding the second order effects he is going to unleash on the country and those that he loves. I haven’t seen any evidence that there was a larger conspiracy or others that plotted with him, or that he was part of Antifa or the DSA, even if he may have agreed with some or many of their positions if he ever thought them through. I agree with all of this, except the nutbar part. Oswald was a communist who assassinated a Cold Warrior President, not as a Soviet agent, but driven by his ideology and own loser-in-life status. Tyler Robinson seems very similar in his motivations. While we might consider anyone who commits a political assassination of their own plan (that isn’t Carlos the Jackal) to be crazy by definition, neither was incapable of understanding what they were doing like a Jared Loughner or John Hinckley. I think they both had delusions of grandeur that they were serving a larger cause, but not that they were hearing voices telling them they were fighting demons like a paranoid schizophrenic.
  11. Just very sad all around. So senseless.
  12. Texts from the charging document: https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2025/09/16/us/indictment-tyler-robinson-charges-kirk.html
  13. Arch in the second quarter of the SHSU game next week:
  14. Eh, just let Nico’s dad coach UCLA at this point.
  15. Watching 5th year players like Joey Aguilar rise up from the Sun Belt and tear apart UGA’s defense yesterday, and then looking at the Murderer’s Row of Suck that were the 5-star QB’s in Arch’s class, you have to wonder if the big programs will change their NIL investment strategy when it comes to the position going forward.
  16. So many concerning parallels to the 2010 team. Coming off two great seasons with a great/very good QB, new 5-star QB who plays like a scrub, o-line can’t bust a grape, terrific defense that can’t win the game by itself. The only thing delaying the grim reality is a slate of 3 cupcakes. If a 1-3 UF team beats us 34-12 you’ll know the worst is upon us.
  17. Wasn’t DJ U in those commercials as well one season?
  18. Yeah, hoping that bad mojo has landed on Clemson this season instead of a certain other team.
  19. Seems like every year there is a highly ranked team in the preseason that loses a big game early and their season just never gets back on track.
  20. This is really bad. I don’t care what you think about Charlie Kirk but political violence like this doesn’t have a natural ending point, and it’s going to get a lot worse before it gets better. God help us all.
  21. It’s pretty true to East Tennessee, having spent a fair bit of time there over the years. I saw her NetFlix standup special and it was moderately funny. She’s a mostly PG-rated comic who does observational humor about Southerners, largely laughing with, not at, them, and focusing more on relationships. Sort of a mashup of Jeff Foxworthy and Rita Rudner. There’s a niche for that, she’ll probably be able to get gigs in Pigeon Forge and Branson until she’s 80 if she wants to. Her joke about her Dad wanting to make sure he had the Roku channel so he could watch The Rockford Files hit a little too close to home, however.
  22. That’s what I kept thinking. It is not a good idea to get involved in a fight against superior numbers who have higher ground in normal circumstances, especially not when your back is to a precipitous drop to your death.
  23. I remember when he was considered something of a charity take to keep his brother in the fold. Not terrible, just that we may not have had nearly as much interest had Neto not been such a prized recruit. Funny how things work out.
  24. Like the personnel we can throw out in this package
  25. It’s hard not to be disappointed in him, as he was ranked slightly ahead of Banks in the 2022 class. I expected more from him as well, especially in his senior year.
