  1. LSU has approximately the 10th most difficult schedule in the country, and is 6-1. Although they don't play as well on the road, they're still a good to very good team. If Aggy wins, it's definitely a quality win. Should be a fun game.
  2. With all due respect—and I do respect you because this is a kickass website, and I'm sure it is no picnic keeping the knuckleheads in line— please stop being so condescending. I have worked as a journalist primarily supported by advertising for decades. I understand that people have to eat. You are welcome to dismiss my feedback as worthless, but I suspect I am not alone in being turned off by the OTF product presentation. To answer your question, I would pay on the order of $10 a month for the OTF message board and an ad-free feed of their podcasts. I can live with the sponsor reads, at least those are "in line" with the flow of their program. I also think producing fewer shows would probably increase the quality of the product, but I understand why they push out content like a machine gun.
  3. It's feedback, take it or leave it. No need to get all rage-y. We are literally all on the same team here. I listen to a lot of podcasts, most of which are produced to a much higher level than OTF, which at the end of the day is two or three guys with microphones bullshitting. Now of course they work hard behind the scenes to get information. I get that. But this is not highly produced, expensive to create content. They're producing hours of it per day, when the highest-quality podcasts are weekly or monthly. So there is a lot of air time for monetization purposes. Most of the podcasts I listen to either have sponsor reads, or advertisements. OTF has both of those, as well as superchats, and calls to subscribe to the OTF message board. They are pushing four different buttons for monetization which seems a bit much. Moreover, the way the ads are inserted into the podcast version of their program is so ham-handed that it just sounds terrible, and it happens at the most random times. Like I said, it makes the product borderline unlistenable. You can get all high and mighty about how they have to pay their bills and eat, but I am just saying that the product they're putting out—again, in my opinion—sounds sub-optimal. There are a million-billion ways to consume information and entertainment online, and the negatives I've cited above outweigh the positives. For me. To each their own.
  4. OTF podcasts are borderline unlistenable. Two minutes of introduction; a sponsor read by Bobby or someone; 30 seconds of content; 2 minutes of blaring advertisement with no warning; 5 minutes of content; a sponsor reminder; 4 minutes of content; 2 minutes of blaring advertisement; and so on. There's good information in there and I like the guys. But the overall product sounds terrible even with the ability to skip forward.
  5. I agree wholeheartedly! Now where is my preview of games to watch this week?!?
  6. Can Okie afford Venables’ $30 million buyout?
  7. First of all, I'm a person, and I'm in Austin. With that out of the way, I want to explain why I think that Kentucky is a tough team. Now you may be wondering, "Why are SimkinsMan and other people in Austin crowing about a tough Kentucky team?" Well, the answer is this. It's because our game against Kentucky cements our schedule as being a difficult one in the SEC. Some of our conference mates are saying we got gifted an easy schedule this year. But that is not true. The fact that Texas has to play Kentucky means that we play one of the most challenging SEC schedules this year. Why? Because those cats are wild. In their opener, they blew out Southern Mississippi. Shut them out, even. Domination. A month later they put a top-ranked Mississippi football team in the dirt. Kentucky also has the highest quality loss on the season, losing by a single point to Georgia. Finally, they are coached by a Stoops. A STOOPS! I'm telling you, Kentucky is damned tough. That's something worth crowing about.
  8. The prospect of our LB room without him scares you to death.
  9. Honestly, that tweet from Pancakes McClain is the perfect coup de grace for our time in the Big 12. Schools like his alma mater, Baylor, gravy-trained on Texas for years. They got fatter checks then they deserved because of their association with the big boys. And all along, they bitched about Texas, made snide remarks about Texas, and nipped at our heels like little bitches. Now that Texas is free of the Baylors of the world, and money can be spent over the table, it warms my dark heart to see bitchy fat bears whining about the state of play. Enjoy irrelevancy, assholes! 128,000 people watched Baylor and Air Force in week three on FS1, and you can guarantee that a majority of them were Air Force graduates. During the same week 1.48 million watched Texas play UT freaking SA.
  10. Mack beat Oklahoma more than once?!?
  11. OU's former quarterback, who was either pushed out for Jackson Arnold or who had the foresight to leave the sinking ship SS Sooner Schooner, just beat Ohio State. One wonders how different the game would have been today with Gabriel behind their patchwork line.
  12. It was fun listening to the OU radio "postgame" interview with Domanic Williams, who ended up being a captain on their team. He was all like, "This will never happen again," and if people didn't want to be in the locker room they needed to get out. Dude choose poorly and I am here for it. Enjoy your Poulan Weed Eater Bowl ... if you even make that.
  13. Helm was key to getting Quinn going today. He has been amazing this year. Playing himself into being a top 5 TE in the NFL Draft.
  14. Jackson Arnold must really, really, really suck.
  15. Bug Mountain is fucking awesome.
  16. Clearly Jonah was pointing at Sark during his football game to let him know where his seats were. Because like any good aggy, Jonah knows it's just good manners to help visitors to find their seats.
  17. Texas, Texas Yee- Hah, those Sooners really suck Mudhole to the face
  18. I very much look forward to this thread every week, thanks @texifornia! If I can sober up after the Red River Bloodbath, the evening slate of games looks amazing.
