  1. There's your bark problem. Trees might take years to fully express the damage from severe weather. Combine drought with the cold and it's even tougher on them. But, those two are not that bad off. You can clean up the scar but do your best to not cut into new wood. Trim it up however you want. Taking the little branch is a good idea because that's a weak spot. The angles are not strong. Ten years from now when it has a lot more weight up to that's where it's liable to snap off in a big wind. There is a strong consensus on exposing the root flare. https://southernbotanical.com/the-benchmark/root-flare-exposure/ https://neilsperry.com/2022/06/two-extremes-of-root-flare/ https://blog.dallasarboretum.org/gardening-tips-trees-gardening-root-flare/ Feel free to get rid of the metal ring. I'm willing to bet that it's about rusted out anyhow. It's kinda late in the year to fertilize. I'd try to find something heavy on iron and manganese. It's usually sold as a micronutrient blend. Hit it next spring/ late winter.
  2. Older conservative has regrets And an old school FW County Commissioner and later Judge goes on the record for Kamala. He had already pissed off the GOP a few years ago when he called them out on cutting school funding. He no longer gives a damn what they think about him
  3. And the wild ass weekend continues in California
  4. For what looked like a kinda lame slate of games yesterday it has certainly been a surprise today
  5. All the marbles
  6. I might like Roll Call better.
  7. Oh and we have the opportunity to get this too.
  8. No they were your questions. It was a couple of names ago. I don't expect you to remember questioning whether Brisket ever voted for a GOP candidate or the dismissal of him working on campaigns. Glad to hear you're voting for Allred.
  9. That's right. Make them defend where they shouldn't have to. Delicious
  10. How about Allred and Cruz? Do you recall questions about @Brisketexan ever being a Republican?. You're going to have to work hard to distance from your past positions. I recommend reading lots of Rick Wilson. And some Frum. What was the final straw with Trump? When did you turn?
  11. Fundamental underpinning of American democracy. "To a 12 year old he's not visibly insane." That needed some love.
  12. Jerry Jones isn't going to give up either. Unless he's incapacitated Trump has the same ego drive to succeed despite all evidence that they absolutely suck at the job.
  13. The only way I can imagine Trump not running in 2028 is if he is dead. Because unless the GOP primary voter is somehow changed over the next few years they are going to keep heading down the road to crazyville. Sensible, credible, thoughtful people are becoming rare in the GOP. It's populated by gifted liars and buffoonish grifters. It's going to have to start at the local level. But, I don't see much evidence that there's any movement away from the stoking of fear and hate. So, until he's dead and gone AND Fox et al stop giving credence to outright lies the GOP has to contend with it's own base to find electable candidates.
  14. Don't make a shit. But, I still like Walz and JD screwed up not being able to answer a yes or no question. Here's the moment
  15. He's still one. It's like other callings. You are one or you aren't. Walz public speaking skills are not the ones used in this setting. But, that might be beneficial. If it was being judged by the UIL, that would be different, but It's us. The sickos and normies watching. Coach is likeable. JD is not.
  16. We're almost done with it. And Higgy goes yard
  17. Ooh book banning. Good one Coach
  18. This is the visceral reaction to him. This is the best the GOP has to offer. This smug prick
  19. Is a football coach expected to be a good public speaker?
