I don't think any expectations should be tempered. I think people still haven't adjusted to the reality of modern college football and why we should be very confident heading into this season.
We have done an incredible job of retaining our coaching staff. It doesn't hurt that Sark is our true OC. That might have been considered a negative 5 years ago, but never worrying about losing your offensive coordinator is a massive advantage on the field and in recruiting. PK seems like a DC lifer and is happy to be here. We've lost position coaches due to their successes but have done a good job replacing them.

Yes, Texas has the resources that others don't, but we've still had more success that other big money programs in that regard. Instead of just focusing on our roster changes or perceived deficiencies, go check out what other big programs are going through. It's rough out there.
We are literally in the dream scenario at starting QB. 3rd year in program/system, legendary family, great kid, loves UT, no rush to get to the NFL. There are not any other starting QBs out there that are clear upgrades, and Arch's upside is the best. This offense will be humming by conference play.
