Umanmielen spends day at A&M, likes what he sees at scrimmage VIP ByBRIAN PERRONI 33 minutes ago On Wednesday, Texas A&M held its final scrimmage of the spring. While the Aggies have mostly had visitors on the weekends, one big target was in town for the scrimmage this week. Manor four-star defensive end Princely Umanmielen will be at Texas for the spring game this weekend but wanted to make it to Aggieland before the end of spring ball. "Coach Price texted me asking me to go down," the 6-foot-4, 256-pound defender said while on his way back home. "I was supposed to go down there last week but I couldn't make it. So, he said if I could make it this Wednesday, it would be great. So I came down." Umanmielen says the visit was a low-pressure affair as he continued to make himself comfortable in Aggieland. "It was good. I had a lot fun," he said. "I got to watch them scrimmage and talk to the coaches and pretty much just keep familiarizing myself with A&M. "I talked to a lot of the coaches. A lot of it was the same stuff that we always talk about. They told me how important I was to them and that they really wanted me there. Umanmielen came away impressed with the defensive side of the ball. "They scrimmaged and I watched the defense really close," he said. "I liked the speed of their game. They were really getting after the quarterback, putting a lot of pressure on the quarterback." Umanmielen does not have any official visits scheduled yet, but that could change soon. "Oklahoma has talked to me about setting up an official but I haven't done so yet. I'll probably take a couple this spring or summer and then a couple more later. Then I'll make a decision." Though he is still open to others, Umanmielen says a quartet of schools have his close attention at this point. "A&M, OU and Texas, they are all still up there," he said. "Today definitely helped A&M in my eyes. It does every time I'm there. Oregon, they're also up there now. They offered recently and I've been talking to them a lot.

Texas A&M hosting some big names the next few days VIP ByBRIAN PERRONI 67 minutes ago Share 5 Comments (Photo: Brian Perroni, 247Sports) With Spring Break over and practice for spring ball having officially begun, Texas A&M will be hosting a number of top prospects over the new few days. On Thursday, Little Elm four-star cornerback Ryan Watts made his way to town for the first time since being offered at the Super Bowl party early last month. The 6-foot-2.5, 187-pound defender is planning to spend the entire day in Aggieland. On Friday, Texas A&M is set to host its highest-rated target in the class of 2020. North Shore five-star running back Zachary Evans, ranked as the No. 2 overall prospect in the country, plans to make his way to Aggieland on Friday and then spend the night, staying around to attend practice on Saturday. The 5-foot-11, 200-pound junior has been set to be in town before recently but did not end up making the trip for the Super Bowl party. If he arrives, it will be a big chance for Jimbo Fisher and Co. to make up ground with him. The Aggies will also have a big out-of-state visitor arriving Friday as well Orem, Utah, four-star athlete Noah Sewell, who most are recruiting as a linebacker, will make his way into town on Friday and stay the night, leaving on Saturday. The 6-foot-2, 266-pound junior is ranked as the No. 78 overall prospect in the country. This will be his first-ever trip to the Lone Star State. At the moment, all seven Crystal Ball predictions are for Oregon. On Saturday, the Aggies will see a pair of national top-100 sophomore offensive linemen in town. Katy Taylor guard Bryce Foster, who recently listed A&M among his top four schools, is making the short drive with his parents to take in practice and to meet new offensive line coach Josh Henson. The 6-foot-4.5, 318-pound class of 2021 standout is coming off a very good performance at the Houston Opening regional camp. The Offensive Line MVP of that Houston Opening camp, though, was Houston Episcopal class of 2021 tackle Donovan Jackson. The first player in the class to be offered by the Aggies, the 6-foot-4, 308-pound sophomore has long been high on the Maroon and White5COMMENTS Aggie four-star offensive line commit Smart Chibuzoof Fort Bend Hightower is headed to see Auburn and Alabama with his Fast7v7 teammates this weekend but plans to make his way to College Station as well. He will be in town on Friday morning. With a new position coach, he is looking at all his options. However, several sources have mentioned how much he and his family like Aggieland. Next weekend, A&M will likely host several more big names. One of those already confirmed is Foster's teammate at Katy Taylor, four-star sophomore offensive tackle Hayden Conner. He also has visits to Stanford and Texas coming up in the next month as well

4-star DE Princely Umanmielen talks recent, productive A&M visit VIP ByDAMON SAYLES 15 minutes ago One of the rising names in Texas high school football, defensive end Princely Umanmielen attends Manor High School but has an Austin, Texas, home address. Manor is minutes away from is home -- and his home also happens to be minutes away from the University of Texas. Living in Austin, Umanmielen said he's constantly approached by a Texas Longhorns fan asking when he'll commit to the hometown school. What many around him don't understand is that Umanmielen is wide open with his recruiting process -- and Texas A&M is one of the schools very much alive in his recruitment. He visited College Station last Friday and said he thoroughly enjoyed the trip. "That was my second time there," said Umanmielen, a 6-foot-4, 250-pound defensive end. "It was fun, probably the most fun visit I've been on. I really liked the facilities. Everything was cool." Umanmielen added: "Everybody around here's already calling me a Texas commit. I don't hate it, but I have to tell everyone that I'm not committed anywhere. I don't know where I'm going right now." Recruited to Texas A&M by defensive end Terry Price, Umanmielen spoke highly of the Aggies' defensive front. When he and Price aren't having light-hearted conversations and cracking jokes, they are speaking in depth about how Umanmielen would fit in the 4-2-5 scheme. "I like the defense they run. I like the four-man front," Umanmielen said. "He [Price] showed me if I went there where and how I'd play. I play strong end, so I would get a lot of opportunities to be up front and not get double-teamed." Umanmielen is coming off a junior season where he recorded 45 tackles (21 for loss), 5.5 sacks and two forced fumbles for Manor. He helped the Mustangs advance two rounds deep in the Class 5A Division I playoffs. He defines himself as "physical and fast," as he's run the 40-yard dash in 4.61 seconds at an Arkansas camp last summer. It was a camp where the Razorbacks offered him after his performance. Umanmielen has 19 reported offers but said LSU, Texas and Oklahoma are three schools that he's considering, along with Texas A&M. He has plans of making his first trip to LSU on March 22. "With recruiting, it's been a good problem to have. It's fun and stressful at the same time," he said. "If I'm ready, I want to be committed somewhere before next season starts. I'd like to do that, but if I'm not ready, it'll be around [December] signing day." Umanmielen is ranked the No. 15 strong-side defensive end and No. 336 player overall in the 2020 class, according to the 247Sports Composite. He is ranked the No. 48 player from the state of Texas

Under Armour Dallas: VIP recruiting news and notes VIP ByDAMON SAYLES 18 minutes ago Share 0 Comments ARLINGTON, Texas -- The Under Armour All-America Camp Series made a stop in the Dallas area on Sunday, hosting a multitude of athletes from Texas, Oklahoma and Arkansas. Martin High School, in addition, saw several athletes who have been affiliated with Texas A&M, whether its via offers or by way of a mutual interest. Here are a few notes from Sunday's action: (Photo: Damon Sayles, 247Sports) -- Lancaster, Texas, 4-star cornerback Lorando Johnson spoke in depth about his recruiting process, first acknowledging that his original top three of Texas A&M, LSU and Arkansas is no longer on the table. While those three schools are still high on his list -- and he said all three most likely will get an official visit -- he's looking at schools like TCU, Baylor and Ohio State, as well. Johnson spoke highly of Texas A&M and said he's planning on making it to College Station for the spring game in April. -- Dallas Carter 4-star defensive tackle Branard Wright is one of the biggest prizes of the 2020 recruiting cycle in Texas. He measured in at 6-foot-3 and 300 pounds, and he spoke about narrowing his choices down "deep in the spring," possibly April. He likes Texas A&M because of defensive tackles coach Elijah Robinson, and he added that while some may think he's an LSU lean, that isn't 100 percent accurate. He said Texas A&M not only is in hunt but also will get an official visit. Schools like Florida, Texas, Alabama, Florida State and Arkansas, as well as LSU, are in the mix along with the Aggies. -- Little Elm, Texas, 3-star cornerback Ryan Watts picked up a Texas A&M offer on Feb. 3, the same day as the Aggies' Super Bowl get-together. He mentioned that Texas A&M, Oklahoma and Texas are the three schools recruiting him the hardest. He is looking at the weekend of April 12 for an official visit to Oklahoma. That's the weekend of Oklahoma's spring game. He added that he plans on taking an unofficial visit to Arkansas on March 30. (Photo: Damon Sayles, 247Sports) -- Aggie fans received not-so-great news when Duncanville, Texas, 4-star Chris Thompson Jr. announced that Texas is his top in-state school. That may be news to some, but consider the fact that Thompson is coached at Duncanville by Reginald Samples -- who is the father of Ra'Shaad Samples, the assistant receivers coach at Texas. While Texas leads as his in-state choice, that doesn't mean he'll necessarily stay in state. He added that Clemson and LSU are two schools very much alive in his recruiting process. -- Aggie fans also should bypass on the idea of Prosper, Texas, offensive tackle Jake Majors coming to College Station. The 4-star lineman has been committed to Texas since Jan. 24 and said he's "100 percent solid" with the Longhorns. Majors, who measured in a 6-foot-3 and 290 pounds, added that schools like Stanford and USC were still keeping close tabs on him. -- With a state championship now on his resume, Longview, Texas, dual-threat quarterback Haynes King said he has heard from schools such as Baylor, TCU, Arkansas and Tennessee. King said he hasn't heard much from Texas A&M but is keeping all of his recruiting options open. He's looking for a place where there is a "consistency of the coaching staff" and a place where he can develop as a quarterback. He also wanted to be academically set with a quality degree. (Photo: Damon Sayles, 247Sports) -- One of the most impressive-looking athletes of Sunday was defensive end Blayne Toll out of Hazen, Arkansas. Ranked the No. 2 player in the state of Arkansas, Toll is a chiseled 6-foot-5, 239-pound athlete who bench presses 375 pounds. He said he wants to go to college as a defensive end but wouldn't overlook the idea of playing tight end. Arkansas is a major contender in Toll's process, but Tennessee is definitely a team to watch. He said he hasn't heard from Texas A&M. -- Sachse, Texas, 3-star Myles Nash isn't the biggest athlete, but his explosiveness makes him a player to watch. The 5-foot-6, 171-pound all-purpose back has offers from Ole Miss, Mississippi State and Illinois State, and he's been in contact with Baylor. Nash is a shifty scatback who can also line up in the slot and serve as a matchup problem with his quick twitch and cutting ability. (Photo: Damon Sayles, 247Sports) -- Carthage, Texas, 3-star offensive tackle Ty'Kieast Crawford, on the surface, already looks like a college offensive lineman. The Baylor commit is 6-foot-5 and 318 pounds, and while he's strong with his pledge, he said schools like TCU, Arkansas, Tennessee and Missouri have been heavily recruiting him. Crawford said he hasn't heard much from Texas A&M but will always keep the door open to hear from programs. Crawford has been committed to Baylor since July 29. -- The Colony, Texas, athlete Myles Pricecan play running back, wide receiver or cornerback at the next level. The 3-star talent has been in touch with Texas A&M, but the Aggies have yet to offer. Price has 11 reported offers, which includes Texas Tech, Washington State, SMU and Arkansas State. Price recorded 57 catches for 906 yards, rushed 62 times for 661 yards and accounted for 24 total touchdowns. -- 2020 receiver Keith Miller, also of The Colony, has a dozen reported offers and said he is hearing mostly from Washington State, Colorado, Kansas, Texas Tech and Ole Miss. At 6-foot-4 and 200 pounds, Miller is an intriguing player who Texas A&M hasn't offered but has shown some interest in the past. He's looking to play at a school where he has a solid bond with the coaching staff, as well as a school with a good architecture program. -- Denton (Texas) Ryan 2021 Ja'Tavion Sanders is a do-it-all athlete. At the Under Armour event, he lined up as a tight end and made several nice plays. Some think he'll make an even better defensive end at the next number. At nearly 6-foot-4 and 220 pounds, Sanders said Texas A&M is a school he's hearing from a lot. Texas and Oklahoma also are in the mix, but the Aggies can score big with Sanders, a versatile athlete with a very high ceiling. -- Duncanville, Texas, 2021 offensive tackle Savion Byrd caught the attention of multiple media members with his size and play. He measured in at 6-foot-5 and 265 pounds and is planning on lining up at left tackle when he arrives at his college of choice. Byrd nearly has 20 reported offers, but he said SMU is a school that has been heavily on him as of late. Byrd added that he has interest in LSU. (Photo: Damon Sayles, 247Sports) -- Copperas Cove, Texas, 2021 offensive tackle McKenzie Agnello is doing all of the right things to prepare for college football. For starters, he's slimmed down from 317 pounds to 289 pounds and is looking to build muscle to where he's back at 300 pounds in time for his junior season. Agnello, who stands 6-foot-3, said he's heard some from Texas A&M, as well as Texas and TCU, but he's heard mostly from Texas Tech as of late. -- Fort Worth All Saints Episcopal offensive tackle Tommy Brockermeyerwas one of two 2020 Future 50 invitees -- the other being Aledo, Texas, 2021 slot receiver JoJo Earle. Brockermeyer said he's been hearing mostly from Texas, TCU and Michigan as of late. He did say he's heard from Texas A&M, but he described it as a "little bit." Brockermeyer said he's looking to play for a team "that produces and develops NFL linemen
