  1. Man, this is the first game I’ve seen this year. I’ve seen middle school teams run a better offense. What’s the name of this offense we are running?
  2. I did same but -4. Hit UK+5. Let it ride. Good luck hermano. Let’s make this stew!
  3. Something is rotten in the state of Denmark. Madera no.
  4. Great to read @Shady Ray’s take on this. Very insightful. Danke my man. I’ve seen some other folk who post on the Surl who may have a federal government relations role in their work. Would be intrigued to read their lenses, especially you orangebloods in DC or other expats. We got our own Surly Geopolitical Chatterati going on.
  5. I think you may be referring to the Mi-28NM. I believe they call it the “Night Hunter." We call it “Havoc.” I may be wrong though.
  6. Eaten at all of Chris Shepherd’s spots, so went to the Farmer’s Market to buy some Yerba Buena, manzanilla, other herbs and some groceries… and try his new spot. The burger is legit. But the chicken sandwich slammed and went hard. That fucker was tasty af. I thought it outshone the burger. Was too cold to get a shake, but those looked good. Yeah a different fry, but it was good. Not the best burger in town, IMHO. Off the top of my head Lankford’s and Biggio’s are better. I’m sure I’m missing a few others. The irony of most the gringos not shopping at the gente’s stands for fresh food at great prices, but waiting in a long line for a $20 burger and fries. Gente did want a lot of coin for the molcajetes and other kitchen stuff. I mean I know CPI is at 7%, but help a brotha out a little bit. The market needs someone cooking on a disco or a flat iron with all those great ingredients and selling tacos or something. I am sure that has to do with getting a permit for specifically that. Some people call it the Farmer’s Market, but it’s just the pulga to me. Cancha a Cocina
  7. Is anyone entitled to a “spot” (as it’s being called on here) at UT? Going to LASA (or anywhere else) and doing well there should entitle you to spot at UT? Entitlement is a helluva of drug. Also a helluva mindset. And definitely a helluva way to go through life.
  8. I could be wrong, my Muscovite, but I thought it was an attempt by Pedro I to “westernize” Russia.
  9. Eagles rush vs. Bucs rush D is the angle. Last 12 games they are 5th worst in the league; also allowing 4.7 ypr. Eagles are #1 in rush O. Leaning Eagles and the points. Will be a close game. Wouldn’t be surprised if Philly wins straight up.
  10. About a decade ago, I was sitting next to a muckety-muck of Bolner’s Fiesta. We start talking spices the whole flight. Very interdasting convo. About halfway in, salt comes up. He says salt is salt. It’s all the same. Doesn’t matter where it comes from or who “makes it.” He then jumps into pepper… changed my whole outlook on pepper. Pepper there’s a BIG difference. Toward the end of the flight, dude asks for my address and sends me a big ass box of what had to be every spice they make. /csb Don't care, had free spices (which is almost better than sex. Almost.)
  11. 10. Dick LeBeau 9. Aeneas Williams 8. Willie Brown 7. Darrell Green 6. Dick Night Train Lane 5. Charles Woodson 4. Mike Haynes 3. Mel Blount 2. Ron Woodson 1. Deion Sanders
  12. Big 12 refs qualify to ref NFL playoff games? I learned something new today.
  13. I have Raiders+6. They just need to relax and stop with the pre-snap penalties and boneheaded decisions. Hopefully, now after a quarter they have that out of their system.
  14. Agree with @956 Worldwide. I could see that after the cap was lifted (greed) and Tokayev replaced the Nazarbayev folk with his own: 1. Attempt to pacify the common folk as a look I’m cleaning out corruption. 2. More funds for he and his folk. #1 didn’t do what it supposed to. #2 escalates it even more as Nazarbayev’s folk fight back after being kicked out of their no-show no-work jobs. Current corrupt government fighting with former corrupt government who put them in power. Full blown chaos. Tokayev fighting a two-front unrest. He only has one solution. Capitulate or call his daddy Putin. Putin sends in the paratroopers to gain control of the situation. Situation is fluid.
  15. Sounds like we need an international traveling Surly cabal that raises hell, drinks like fish and eats like the gluttons we are. In short, brings the Texas vibe to an international port near you. If this happens, lamentations will be heard my good men.
  16. On a related Turkish note, Galatasaray vs. Fenerbahce is on my bucket list. If there is a Surly field trip on this, let a brotha know, as I’m in like Flynn.
  17. Agree to all of that my friend. That’s why the cowboys analogy. Yes, the boys will always make money because of brand (Turkey and their geography, and their geopolitical influences ) and they may even make the playoffs here and there. But them being a super power a la their days of the Ottoman Empire (super bowl appearance) won’t happen until some things change. A Turkish government that was a real republic and/or a democracy could wield a much stronger influence over the world. But alas Turkey gonna Turkey as cowboys gonna cowboy.
  18. Turkey’s geographical location is prime real estate. With the right government and leadership they could be a real player in the world. And have been historically. They are the Cowboy fans of the world. They talk about and want to bring back the glory days when they were on top (Ottoman Empire/1990s). But alas their leadership is so janky the Super Bowl appearances allude them oh so easily. On another note, Turkish Kurdish women>>>DCCs. Yeah I said it.
  19. Maria Zakharova is toting the company line. Other countries, such as Serbia and Belorussia are stating foreign intelligence interference is the cause. Sleeper cell coordination and whatnot. да Мария…ты обворожительная снежная королева.
  20. I was thinking aTurkey might be in the mix as well, but Tokayev has already thanked Erdogan for his support this morning, along with the Uzbek, Chinese presidents. Erdogan loves him some nationalism and wants to get the band back together again a la Ertugrul (good series BTW, especially season 1). Not too sure he has eyes set on a prize this big. But anything is possible in Central Asia. Like some have said, us figuring out what has happened may take a while, if we figure it out at all. My dos centavos is good ole fashioned greed. They lifted the cap to give more money to themselves and their cronies. The regular Joe got pissed. Tokayev conveniently replaces the remaining Nursultan folk with his own to show the folk he’s ridding the corruption. Two birds one stone, more moolah for himself. Yeah I know he was handpicked by Nulsultan. Don’t ever underestimate the other guy’s greed. Do you know what a chazer is Frank? Tokayev makes a deal with Putin to cut him in on the action, but now Vlad’s the heavy and will be at his beck and call. Putin doesn’t help folk for free and I’m not referring to being a good neighbor. Money, resources, et al agreements were made.
  21. What’s the impact on Bitcoin and uranium with this unrest? You think LPG is wild for vehicles, people were using kerosene in their houses before Thomas Edison did his thing. Imagine keeping your house lit with that bad boy oil. Edison single-handedly put the petro industry into a pickle until Henry Ford came along. Intrigued how China will react to this, if at all. KZ is mostly Muslim and they fo sho don’t want them Peking in via emigration. Iran just gonna watch and let this happen without salivating over those oil and gas opportunities? Get rial.
