  1. No one can “crystal ball”. Have your asset allocation set and put it in now. You’ll be happy In 10 years Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  4. Generalize much? I drive an Audi . Not some sort of brag, but rather to point out your comment shows much ignorance on the subject. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. That seems like a lot . Especially since it’s still early in the day….. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Can I ask how old you are? I just started this exact plan three weeks ago along with stopping drinking. Have lost 10 pounds (I drank a lot …) and I’m sure the pace of weight loss will slow down . 25 more pounds to go so that would be 35 in 4 months. Trying to go from 205 to 170. 5’11”. I just think slowing metabolism is gonna slow my efforts soon. Age 56. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  9. Just an old guy who’s seen the movie many times over my life . 1987, dotcom 2000, 2008 financial crisis , real estate bubble. Just a cautionary tale for you yunguns. Personally don’t own a penny of the stuff but , history is doomed to repeat itself . Index funds over the long haul will get you where you want to be. Tread with caution young bucks . Now get off my lawn [emoji3] #retired@55 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  12. +1 This can’t be emphasized enough . For you young bucks , selloffs are the best thing that can happen to you. Keep on plowing money in. Look up in 25 years. You’ll be amazed. PS. I’m talking about index funds and an asset allocation that is proper for your age. Don’t chase individual stocks or flavors of the month. Crypto, doge etc. You cannot beat the market so don’t try. Old guy rant over. #retired@55 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  19. Well, since I'm impatient went ahead and used the chat function. Pretty painless. Got $7.78 a month (each) for 2 cars. Tried for the 5$ + tax deal that I had last two years but he typed that this was best available offer. Did "guarantee" my rate would stay that for next renewal. Made a note in my file (rolls eyes). Whole thing took about 15 minutes (no human interaction) so I will consider that my win for the day. Good luck.
  20. Bump. What’s the best number to “cut to the chase “ and get the best deal on renewal. 5 bucks a month the current going rate ? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Joining thread. Started year at 205. I’m 5’11. Want to get down to 174 by may 1. Steps to help achieve: Quit drinking Fasting 16-8 10k Steps a day Strength training 4x week Daily sauna Daily calories between 1500 and 2000. Currently at 195 but I know a lot of the quick loss is water and simply quitting booze. Keep it up all! Onward! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Need a recommendation for 25th wedding anniversary next month. .all types of cuisine but not looking for a steakhouse .on a 90 day no booze thing , so wine list and cocktails aren’t important .not looking for flashiest / trendiest .quaint /classic/ better than loud music and hip .upscale but not needing to break the bank. No mastros , etc. I’m in the woodlands but we will be going in town. Thanks in advance Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Son got into TX Mechanical Engineering program over the weekend. Still waiting to hear on Honors. I’m not really sure how big a deal that honors program is, but assume he will do it if he gets in. Proud of the lad. I was an 1100 SAT auto admit in 80’s and couldn’t even sniff getting in now. still waiting on Georgia Tech, Duke, Michigan and Stanford. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Headed to NYC Jan 5th-9th with my oldest son (22). Staying on upper west side (Hotel Beacon -2130 Broadway). He's a big theatre buff so think we are covered there for 2 nights, but looking for a great comedy/improv place as well as a live music (small) venue. Jazz or old rock n roll place. Not looking for the hippest place, but rather an old classic type venue.. Also, any cheap/medium priced restaurants places on upper west side would be appreciated. Thanks
  25. After looking at flights and rental car prices, I've decided to drive up from H-town. Change my mind....
