Chappell is the #1 CB (#22 overall) in PA in composite

he is #70 CB in the composite

Texas meanwhile has the #11 (McCutchen), #13 (Ish), #16 (Hunter Washington), #22 (D Harmon), #46 (Jimmy Wyrick), #69 (Jalon Williams) plus #75 (Raymond Gay) - plus Bowman

Chappell is a .8565 in the composite, which would rank him as the #112 player in the State.

This puts him on par with Jalon Williams (111), J'Dann  Burnett (112), Jack Turner (113, committedd to TTU), Jordan Eubanks (114,  FSU commit)

Top247 has him as an 88, which would put him on par with the #58-82 rank in the state.

Just a really really really really weird take when Texas as a state has 6 guys ranked higher at CB (plus Bowman) in composite.

Looch has Harmon at #18 in Texas in his Looch 44 (tm) - Ish is #33, McCutchin is #43 & Bowman is at 20

side note, hasn't Looch shit all over Bowman for his size (5'10 & 175) vs Chappell at 5'11" & 177?

That's good and all..HOWEVER haven't you watched the tape?

Maybe it doesn't hurt OU's chances with Ewers as much as we had hoped, but would Ewers come out and say "OU is out because I don't want to sit behind the 5*"

If he likes Yurcich, I think Texas will still have a chance

Also, apparently the class is loaded across the country at the position. I saw a blurb saying that Ohio State sees four potential QB takes in Georgia alone.

Isn't the staff high on the Simpson kid in TN as well?

People need to slow down on the Giles revisionist history. We’ve brought in some good talent recently, but Giles has still had plenty of misses including in the 2021 class.
As always, HtownHorn is a horrible source for information and the head to head against aggy is getting more and more meaningless since they’re primarily OOS on the DL these days. Giles got solidly beat by Price for Wright and Brown in 2018. Those weren’t big misses in retrospect, but they were recruiting losses for Giles because the staff wanted them at the time.

That led to taking Carson and Williams late. One guy was a grade/attrition risk form the start and isn’t in the team and the other hasn’t even come close to playing a meaningful snap in 3 years.

We missed on a good amount of targets in 2019, most notably Leal, before finding Warren and grabbing Jacoby Jones late in the cycle. I’m optimistic on Warren, not so much on Jones and he’s already had some off field trouble.   Landing both Collins and Broughton in 2020 was huge. I find the SWG take pretty underwhelming, but 2020 was a success regardless.  Great job Giles.

We look like we’ll land good talent at DE in 2021, but Giles has already missed on 2 of our top 3 in-state targets at DE, so it’s not like he’s killing it on the trail so far this cycle. I will say that with the talent we have on the DL and the scheme change this year, a flip is possible once the season plays out.
Overall, Giles has landed enough talent to succeed, and I think he’s a good coach of the position, but people have been getting a little carried away with Giles’ recruiting lately.

Bobby Brown?  The only reason surly liked him was to use references of My Prerogative when posting. The Giles hatred was due to not getting Leal and Tatum running back to Norman.  I think the board also wanted Perkins too.

What does a scooter crash have to do with keeping those milkers out of the sun?

I think she has some scars from it and she is self conscious about showing them off maybe?  Hadn't seen shades like that since 2010

I didn't even realize Heffernan had committed to Baylor - he handled the fuck out of Princely to the point that Manor moved him to the other side for a bit to try to get him involved. He's a really good HS OL but he's got a very small frame - his shoulders are not wide and he's not overly big. I know recent interviews say he's up to 265 or whatever and maybe he is, but he's not going to be able hold that weight easily and certainly isn't going to be able to get up to 300. Much smaller frame than James Brockermeyer.

That Tate Williams rise was outright nonsense. Did Wall throw a pass last year? You cannot make an OL a 4* and top 25 in the state if you have no idea if he can even pass block. GTFO. HUDL clips show him pushing around a bunch of 155 pound kids. Talk about someone who needed to be seen in a camp against a better tier. JFC. Absolute nonsense.

That kid went from unranked to like top 40 in the state a couple weeks ago.  Maybe 247 is giving Aranda some boost?

For fuck’s sake, that post LITERALLY says Justin Wells name in it. Is there some sense of everything on IT just being Nahlin? Because if that’s going to stick I’m going to laugh my fucking ass off if folks just start referring to Ian Boyd’s garbage as “Nahlin’s new post.”

    Justin, is that you?

I'm thinking just removing the cancer that was Meh will go a long ways towards team morale. Or at the very least, the WRs will get coached on how to beat getting jammed off the line.

Coleman has the chance to make a real impression if he can get the current group of WRs rolling this season.  If that happens, I would look for players like Earl to flip

Who knows. I sent him a screenshot of Harvdog presenting himself to the board for penetration, and that didn’t prompt a post. Who knows what’s bringing him back to this board.

  9. It's just a show and prove it moment for most of the players we are after.  Think most bought in after the Jawja win, but 2019 was up and down.  I'm not too caught up with the rankings because they sites aren't really digging through tape.. just following offers.

Eric's been pretty negative, but objectively that's probably one of the most inarguable points to be made (in regards to Herman holding the team together this fall. Not sure if Satya's post actually referenced that part of the Q&A). This team is a powder keg and Herman hasn't exactly shown himself to always have his hand on the pulse of things. If there is ANY optimism, it's maybe his hiring of 2 coordinators and embracing the role of building relationships with his players happened just in time, as long as he has no missteps with these issues. But objectively, looking at it, this team is literally 4 minefields stacked on top of an acme dynamite plant, right next door to a fuel depot. Chances are pretty high that something will be miscommunicated and things will spiral out of control at some point.

You and Looch must have the same inside source..  Looch was saying the same thing 3 years ago, but never went into full detail into what his person was hearing.

Man, Nahlin has been emo as fuck this offseason.

I agree more with Burton when it comes to the OL. Herman has done a great job turning that group around since he got here.  Now it's up to Hand to coach them to their strengths.

  12. I was listening to the 247 recruiting pod.  They made it seem that the recently Bama commit JC Lathom(?) would be ranked over Tommy. However they also think the Brocks end up there as well FWIW.  They said that would be an historic OL class.
