Wiltfong predicts Bama for the brothers Brockermeyer (in his predictions for Top 10 uncommitted recruits article, which includes Tommy).Confidence level 6.  Then hedges a bit and says Texas possible, wouldn't be a shock.

this sounds just like his brief write up from a couple weeks ago.

  2. We just have to roll with what we have at LB.. at some point you just have to trust your evaluations that brought them to Austin in the first place.  Mitchell is a headcase but he's flashed before. With a new staff hopefully it gives him peace of mind that's they are gonna put him in a place to succeed.. no more portal talk.

Turner doesn't seem to be leaning anywhere in particular and all the DFW defensive guys (Blackwell/Coffey(🤞)/Ish (🤞🤞🤞)) will hopefully work on him. I'm not hopeless about him yet.

O to the MFn G gots this!!

Last week I wrote that Aggie fans should expect a few somewhat surprising commitments - at least as far as timing was concerned - due to the fact that it was determined that college programs couldn't host recruits for on-campus visits until at least August and probably September due to the ongoing shutdown. As it turns out, the Aggies benefited from one such decision today, when Magnolia offensive lineman Matthew Wykoff decided to shut it down in favor of the SEC program about an hour up the road.

The 6-5, 305-pounder had always held the Aggies in high regard and was elated when he spoke to TexAgs immediately after picking up the offer he always wanted at the Aggies' Super Bowl party in February. On Monday, Wykoff returned the favor, delivering some good news of his own to Jimbo Fisher and A&M OL coach Josh Henson. Matthew chose the Ags over offers from a host of power programs, including the likes of USC, Notre Dame, Penn State, Auburn, Arizona State, Texas, TCU, Tennessee and Stanford. The reason Wykoff generated so much buzz has to do with the fact that the tackle checks just about all the boxes. He stands a hulking 6-5 and is already well over 300 pounds with a full year until he steps foot on a college campus, is a very good athlete who was at one point a varsity starter for Magnolia at tight end. The newest Aggie is also as strong as an ox (he's already power cleaning over 300 pounds) and an exceptional student - both in the classroom and on the field, where the ability to pick up a blocking scheme and read a defensive front makes an OL worth his weight in gold.

Another trait coveted in a blue-chip offensive line prospect is versatility. Matthew possesses that in spades. He's a natural tackle who has combination of size, smarts, athleticism and skill to play pretty much anywhere along the line. The interesting thing here is that I don't think Wykoff is close to done growing...he'll soon be a 6-6, 325-pound tackle who could also excel inside or even at center. In other words, this is an addition to Henson's OL room who is going to find his way onto the field and who is built for the SEC trenches. Give this young man a year in Jerry Schmidt's weight room to work on his power, explosion and pop and he's a guy capable of manhandling opposing pass rushers and moving bodies in the run game (yes, even in the rugged SEC West).

This was an offer I was pretty fired up about when Fisher and the Aggies extended it in early February because Matthew Wykoff landed in that intersection of need, talent and perfect fit (for prospect and school alike). He's also the Ags' second straight addition from the Houston area and third from The H in the '21 class (Katy TE Fernando Garzaand North Shore game-breaker Shadrach Banks), where Fisher and Co. hope to eventually add a couple of other blue-chip blockers and coveted tailback LJ Johnson Jr

Wykoff becomes the Ags' ninth commit in the Class of 2021 and is Henson's second o-line pledge. The expectation here is that the haul in the trenches will eventually reach five. Landing early commits from blockers the caliber of Wykoff and Trey Zuhn is significant on multiple fronts. First, the Ags now have pledges from two 300-pounders who held offers from the likes of Ohio State, Michigan, OU, Penn State, Ohio State, USC, Texas, Notre Dame, Auburn and several others. In other words, dudes who were coveted by power programs from coast to coast. Second, the two big men will serve as the foundation of what may very well end up being exactly the type of class Jimbo Fisher and his staff aimed to sign entering the '21 cycle.

Zuhn was one of the Ags' first two 2021 commits and Wykoff is now officially in the boat. Up next? The Aggies are fighting tooth and nail against the LSU Tigers for 6-8 tackle Reuben Fatheree and are planning to trade punches with the Bayou Bengals, Oklahoma Sooners, Oregon Ducks and Texas Longhorns (and whoever else remains in the fray) for five-star guard Bryce Foster. There's been some buzz coming out of Baton Rouge in regards to Fatheree, but the Ags are still sitting in a very good position for the state top-15 talent. He's one who could reach a final decision sometime in the next month or so. Landing Matthew Wykoff was a big piece of the OL puzzle, and the Aggies hope he's one of three or perhaps even four Lone Star linemen to eventually ink with TAMU.

A commitment to be pretty fired up about if you're an A&M fan. Wykoff loved the Ags from very early in the process, picked up some really impressive offers along the way, was a coveted prospect at a need position and Fisher, Henson and the staff did a great job of making sure that they didn't let a really good one get out of their backyard.

Holy shit.. they got a Tommy Brock clone??

  5. I wonder if any of the uncertainty of the 2021 season with an unproven QB once Sam leaves has an effect with the 2021 WRs.  I mean the 2022 class will see Thompson, Card or JJ winner play out the 21 season before deciding.  Maybe if the 2020 season is really good, maybe then the 21 WRs will give us another look with our new system?

I don’t necessarily want to see Burris go to OU, but I’m also not torn up about missing on him. I think he’s pretty overrated at this point. I think he’ll be solid and not get pushed around at the next level, but I struggle to see him be much of a difference maker.

    We better close on Turner

Should keep recruiting Andrew Jones ever we land Cooks

ah.. i forgot about him, but point stands with Cooks.  Hope it's him and we have the LB position set, with hopefully a shot at Jones as the cherry on top?

I agree with Sydney, Ibraheem would be really big, especially after how it seemed he was gone out of state from late last year and early this year recruiting tidbits.

Are you just dividing distance by time? Or have some sort of conversion table where X in the 200m typically translates to a Y in the 40? 1st ~10 yards are gonna be the slowest piece (and what's most translatable to football) and more heavily weighted in a 40 than a 200m
