  1. I could see the competition being a little close just because of Card's experience in Sarkisians offense, and Ewers just beginning to learn it, but even if it was close, that is an indictment on Card's ability to improve, and you have to go with Ewers as the starter because he has a higher ceiling...
  2. Depends on the time of year. In the middle of Summer, it can still be in the high 90s late into the night..It usually starts significantly cooling down at night in late August/ early September.
  3. It is downright brutal. I was building a chicken coop in the backyard this past July for my wife...Picked the wrong month to work outside for sure in Phoenix..I don't ever remember it being as bad to work outside in Texas in the Summertime as it is here...The only advantage we have is less insects. I remember swarms of insects; especially, mosquitos attacking all Summer long in Texas...The insects here have to be prehistoric badasses to survive in this heat..
  4. We got thousands of immigrants from Cali and other states in the last few years, not the normal snowbird type immigrants of the past that are retirees.. Thats gotta put some new athletes in the pipeline... My son plays High School Football here in Gilbert, AZ and the sports teams at his school have been getting new kids from multiple states, but mostly Cali...
  5. Yep, even the AZ Cardinals have some of the same issues, there are so many transplants in Phoenix from other states that they are usually going to Cardinals games to watch the other team they are playing against...
  6. They would have to get the talent from another state. Arizona doesn't produce much. Maybe 2 or 3 highly ranked recruits a year, and possibly a few others that don't get any love from recruiting services... The football players always go to out of state schools like USC, Texas, A&M, OU, and Georgia recently.. You would think with the population boom here there would be more in state talent eventually...
  7. Yeah, I think location of the college gets overplayed a little. If it mattered that much, schools like Arizona State or Colorado would kick ass in recruiting. Putting players in the draft; especially, high in the draft is a big deal. That has been used negatively against Texas big time lately. I think both OU and Texas will see big dividends in recruiting in the SEC. The games/ matchups in the SEC will drive excitement for both schools..
  8. I can name a couple of many anomolies in the election that make no sense to me. 1st how did Biden get to 81 million votes without taking any from Trump? Trump actually got more votes too than his first election. That never happened in history... 2nd How did Trump win all but one of the 19 Belweather counties and both of the Belweather states and still lose? Can you clear those up for me?
  9. I totally agree, and don't condone the actions of those people and don't even know any of their political affiliation or motives. I'm just saying a lot of people like myself have moved own and "accepted" the results of the election but still have questions with no answers about all of the anomolies in the election that do not make sense. But, we are asked to accept it and I have accepted it for the good of the country as 3rd worldish as that sounds. I wish that Capitol event had never happened though.
  10. Well I guess we should just turn it into a 3rd world country with a Dictator and none of us will be able to question major statistical anomolies in elections at all? And, you are right, this country is going into the shitter quickly....
  11. Im voting 9 wins just because I think Patterson will either help out with the Defense or end up taking it over because PK becomes a total bust. At the very least, having Patterson on the staff with his old boss as AD has to make PK and maybe even Sark sweat a little and get motivated to put out a better product..
  12. The Arizona Schools in September? You mean when its still like 100 degrees here or close to it, and we are begging for Summer to end? I would be more concerned about the Jet lag the USC/UCLA athletes would experience flying across the US every other week. Would think that would get old really fast.. The dryer winter cold in the mountains is way different than the wet/ freezing cold in the Midwest that cuts right through you so it may have some affect..
  13. If the other team scored second, that was a insurmountable lead to overcome for those Texas teams, might as well change the channel and save your liver the agony of watching those painful disasters. I have no ideal how Strong was harolded so much as a recruiter because he sure as heck did not seem to be any kind of a motivator...
  14. In the Charlie Strong era, if the other team scored first, it seemed like a guaranteed loss...
  15. True, maybe with NIL they can entice kids to stay loyal to the school. Maybe guarantee them some kind of bonus if they stay the whole 4 years...
  16. I think the transfer portal will hurt the product on the field way worse than NIL...How do you build a championship team with depth at critical positions when players can transfer out with no repurcussions? I mean positions like the Line where it takes time to develop...I know starters won't transfer, but you always need good depth on the bench..
  17. The company I work for had a reduction in force just a week ago due to seeing signs of a downturn in the economy. It's a fortune 500 company that processes credit card transactions for banks, basically an acquirer company that takes credit card transactions from multiple terminals, authorizes them, puts them in a file and ships them off to banks. We also have other types of payment applications that I am not involved with, but we basically do all kinds of financial type stuff involving bank cards and mobile payments. We usually do pretty well when the economy goes down a little because people start using credit more, but this time around for some reason they are reducing force right now while the economy is just starting to show signs of a downturn..Not sure if that means it is about to get bad..
  18. I agree, the Big 12 version 1.0 was pretty exciting to watch at times, but it won't touch the SEC for me once OU and Texas join...It was still a great conference with regional rivalries... I think the only thing that would have put the Big 12 Version 1.0 over the new version of the SEC for me would have been if Arky and LSU were members, and if OU had been able to play Nebraska every year on Thanksgiving...
  19. Im ready for them to join the SEC now...The SEC west match ups between Arkansas, LSU, A&M, Texas, and OU are all going to be beyond exciting to watch..And, then we get to watch Texas play BAMA, Georgia, Florida, Tennessee ever so often as icing on the cake....The beer sales in my area are going to go way up...
  20. I don't think the SEC or their network will let that happen...Not without a big fight anyway...It's a good thing Texas doesn't have any schools left for realignment that would be appealing to the BIG...I'm sure they would love to plant a flag in Texas too.
  21. I agree, I can't see how taking USC/ UCLA, and then leaving them way out on an island will work out long term. I mean USC/ UCLA will have to take what they can get, but I doubt they will be happy with all the travel for their student athletes.. I think the BIG has to take some other schools in the PAC to get a good strong hold on recruiting in California and make it BIG territory..
  22. So, it will be like the Democrats in Congress when Trump was President? This has been a bad precedent for a while...
  23. Fair enough on the Linebackers, that would be a good haul...Just saying it seems like PK is in a tough situation with how crappy the D looked last year and then they went out and hired Patterson. It seems like the same situation when Mack hired Robinson to have him on staff when Diaz was on the hot seat. Just another negative that can be used against him on the recruiting trail.
  24. Thats probably why the recruiting for Dline and LB isn't going so well. People probably whispering in recruits ears he is getting canned this year and look they brought in Patterson to probably replace him mid season..Gonna be hard for PK to sale his scheme when everyone thinks for good reason that he is probably getting fired.
  25. They bring a huge metro area outside of Texas in Denver and outlying cities like Colorado Springs and Fort Collins. But, you are right, they do suck, and don't deserve crap...
