  1. US Food Store in Dallas yesterday wanted $5.35 for prime. Insanity.
  2. Bryan is as good a dude as there is in the business. They are going to set up on the north side of Longview at a new big gas station called Heritage at Green Top. 7486 US-259 Longview, TX 75605 Should be opened up pretty soon.
  3. What are prime brisket prices in your area? Went to Sam's in Dallas yesterday and they were $4.09 lb and all they had were 15 lbers. Too steep for me.
  4. Have you had Teddy's in Weslaco?
  5. Must have sold, post is deleted. Dang.
  6. I ate here a couple weeks ago and wasn't impressed at all. Place is priced the same as more well known joints; didn't think the food had any smokiness to it. Most of my friends said it was okay, but didn't like the price they paid compared to others. FWIW Slow Bone BBQ (not on Top 50) should be in any Dallas Top 5 list and way above Blu's BBQ. Had lunch there again today.
  7. Take the ferry from Manhatten over to Staten Island takes you right past the Statue of LIberty and gives you plenty of photo ops an kids will enjoy the boat ride. Go walk around Wall Street, etc. We had passes on the open air bus, you can hop on and off or just ride it around which will give you a good layout of the city and then you can figure out what you wanna go back and see. I would echo the suggestion for 30 Rock; we got up there later in the day and watched the sun set and the city light up. Was one of the highlights of the trip. Honestly it's hard to go wrong in NYC in my opinion especially if you have never been.
  8. Pretty sure I read before they use a 7-8 lb brisket.
  9. Going to San Antonio next weekend. Plan on having lunch at Louie Muellers on Thursday; lunch at 2M in San Antonio on Friday then when I come back home on Sunday stopping in Rockdale at Brett's Backyard BBQ. Has anyone been to Brett's??
  10. https://www.al.com/news/2019/02/waffle-house-taking-valentines-day-reservations-list-of-restaurants-hosting-dinner.html
  11. 10 Fifty in Richardson off 75 has improved past Lockhart in Plano in my opinion. Wasn't once that way, but my last few meals at each have been better at 10 Fifty.
  12. If you stop in Lafayette there is a Swamp Tour going East towards Beaux Bridge we did it a few years ago and it was great. You get a boat tour and a see lots of gators and wildlife I'm sure your six year old would love it.
  13. Old Time Grocery in Lafayette has the best po boys I have ever had.
  14. Cooked for 60 folks on Sunday. Smoked two 12 briskets, I think they ate one. Smoked 3 eight lb pork butts, I would say they ate one. 10 pounds of bologna, they ate 5 lbs. (Oklahoma folks like their smoked bologna), Smoked 12 racks of St. Louis ribs, they ate 9 racks. This will help me figure out estimations for next time. That's the most people I have cooked for at one time. All in all turned out pretty decent; brisket is still a struggle. Pulled at 200 degrees but still not happy with the results. I may try and smoke one without temp probes next time.
