2022 - WR Brenen Thompson
He still hasn't actually developed. The Briles offense just sks those guys to run go routes, posts, and slants. He is fast, but even then he had two drops running basic routes while running wide open. Two years ago when he played for OU? Drop in the cotton bowl.

Texas Football 2025 - Seven Win Steve Rides Again
The plays aren't the problem, it is our ability to block them and complete basic routes.

Could this be the craziest coaching carousel of all time?
I don't think Lea's schtick would work at a place like Florida. He runs an odd offense that masks talent deficits. He is also almost completely reliant on one player, and he is almost 100% portal reliant. I am very interested to see if FSU goes after Deion if they do have the means to fire Norvell.

Bill Belichick Rides Again: Hired at North Carolina to build NIL NFL Factory
I have kind of stayed out of this whole situation, but what in the hell is she doing trying to tell Bill Belichick how to talk about football? He better be burning through the viagra for this level of bullshit.

2025 Texas Coaching/Support Staff Thread
Seriously? You are simultaneously saying guys are worth every penny, top 10 pick, show real promise, he's getting it just young, too bad he got injured because he was showing something, starting as a true freshman, expect him to be a star, admittedly know nothing about a few guys... And then you end with "This group is grim to look at. I almost can't stomach or process it." Maybe back away from the keyboard for a while.

Tell me about Texas Tech
It would be even more amazing if Gameday went to Lubbock, only to meet with a haboob during the broadcast.

Dayum, 8.5 sacks midseason is bonkers. Hat tip to David Bailey.

Week 7 2025: Texas at Kentucky
I am going to go out on a limb here and state that the Florida game wasn't nearly as bad of a loss as everyone here is making it out to be. Florida has one of the best rosters in the country, and they have legit dudes on that team at every level. Yes they are poorly coached, and yes we played like warmed over dogshit and should have won the game. That being said, go back to the Strong/Herman years. We would lose bullshit games against Kansas, Iowa State and Baylor, and then rise up and beat Notre Dame, Georgia, take the best LSU team ever to the wire, etc. Why? Because beyond the bad coaching, you still had a bunch of dudes on the roster who would all rise up and get up for a game. To compound that, we splattered them all over stadium boulevard last year and there were guys on that team that got embarrassed. Plus, they were able to prepare for us for basically three weeks and get a bunch of guys back from injury, and unveil the best true freshman receiver in the country who noone had seen to that point. Billy clearly pushed all of his chips in on that game to win and it paid off, the same as all of the fuckhead coaches in the B12 would spend the entire offseason scheming for us and roll out a bunch of bullshit that they had been working on just for us. They got one over on us, fine. It happens. Kentucky isn't nearly that level of talent. All of their high draft picks like Dione Walker and Maxwell Hairston left for the draft last year and they look to have replaced them with post death penalty SMU players. We are going to be fine. We may not blow them out by 30, but this game will look more like Oklahoma than Florida.

Week 7 2025: Texas at Kentucky
Most likely they are just going to use him as a hammer in short yardage situations. In that case, yes it kind of is. I imagine he will need to learn about 4 plays. Dive, off tackle, lead block for Arch, and leak into the flat in various formats.

I look forward to the year 2099 when Oregon falls off a cliff.

Tell me about Texas Tech
Are you kidding me? To drop a massive deuce in their punchbowl with a first round knockout of a B12 school would make their fans go apocalyptic. You could live on those tears for years.

Tell me about Texas Tech
tOSU has hit that annoying Bama level of talent under Saban where their third string dudes look better than everyone's first string. They can be had obviously, but I am not sure Indiana has the horses to do it.

Texas Recruiting Notes - 2018
Hate to hear guys careers get cut short by injury, but wishing him the best. He was a good player on a bad team, had some growing up to do while he was here, but posts like this show me that he came out on the other side a better person.

The difference with Tech is that their mega donor is young, and doesn't appear to be too meddling yet. If he decides that he is fine with donating the proceeds of one or two of his many oil wells to Tech every year, that could make them a legitimate top tier coaching destination. As crazy as it is to say, I would think long and hard about taking Tech over a number of P2 gigs. OU & Arkansas being two of those schools.

Things not going well for James Franklin [FIRED]
I don't understand how PSU would go after one of the elite coaches. They pay Franklin's buyout, then they would go buyout another elite coach for betwen $30-50 million, then they would hire that coach at a premium contract of 10+ mil per year for x years plus have to pony up big time for staff, and THEN he will want NIL assurances. You are talking about a $150 Million proposition. That is bananas. The most likely scenario is either Rhule or Campbell. If Rhule leaves voluntarily, the buyout is $5 million. If Campbell takes another P4 coaching job, his buyout is $2 million

Week 7 2025: Texas at Kentucky
I know there is a reason Hutson is starting over Robertson, but I didn't really see an appreciable difference when he had to come in earlier in the season. Baxter... holy shit man. Heal!

Tell Me About Texas a&m
I am sure to quite sure that he will get pressured back for the Texas game. The same way Ruben Owens tried to magically heal last year, and the same way Mateer tried to magically unsurgery last week.

Week 7 2025: Texas at Kentucky
I think the difference is that it is not going to be hard to get up for a "down" SEC game the same way it is hard to get up for some of the B12 bullshit we had to deal with. Fucking Baylor was simultaneously impossible to care about but you also wanted to see them get beat by 70 for being a shit heel of a program. Houston? Yeah ok. TCU? Fuck, we should have been charging them to come play. The difference in an SEC game is that the guys on the other side generally look a lot like you, even on the bad teams.
