  1. This is clearly an offensive play caller with a feel for his team..
  2. Listening to some of the talk shows like Pate and Pickell pick the Florida game this week has been really entertaining. It is clear that the lasting impression of both of them is the UTEP game. Pate picked Florida to win, and Pickell clearly thinks Arch sucks. I look forward to Arch coming out and playing a quality game and then watching all of these guys talk about how they knew Arch would bounce back and that this score was inevitable.
  3. Man I feel bad for Napier at this point. Put him out of his misery already. This feels like when the reporter asked Charlie Strong what it means for his career at Texas when he lost to Kansas and he started to tear up.
  4. Technically it would be UCLA, but in a friendly pillow fight sort of way.
  5. I would be very gruntled if we hung 40 on Florida in any scenario, I think it will be lower scoring than that. 27 - 10 or something like that.
  6. I completely forgot that guy ever played for Texas. Talk about an epic bust.
  7. Wasn't Grantham pretty well known for being a raging asshole throughout his career or am I thinking about someone else? Sign my up for that career arc all day long. Come to the rescue of embattled coaches who are about to be fired. Sign a 3 year deal to go there. Get fired mid season. Rinse repeat.
  8. Starts off slow but gets pretty good.
  9. 100% agree with this. Lashlee should hold out for at least a tier 2 school in the P2. He may actually be a quality replacement candidate for Riley if it comes to that, or maybe Ole Miss if Kiffen leaves. Traylor could be the guy at SMU if Lashlee does leave. I anticipate Arkansas to go with Occam's razor and just hire Petrino. Since he is an in house candidate, they will get him cheaper. I think Florida ends up with Fisch at the end of the day, who is a quality coach but he isn't going to have recruits excited. Jim McElwain 2.0.
  10. Pretty stark contrast to how Sark has managed the roster so far this season. In writing this, it kind of dawned on me that he may be managing his roster the same as he manages recruiting cycles. With a long term approach and an eye towards closing strong and not getting too over his skis too early in the season. Contrast that with Venables at OU who is running Mateer 20 times against G5 schools, and with Elko who has a very tight rotation through non conference play. I would imagine that rotation really tightens against quality teams, which means we will likely see both OU and A&M fade as the season goes on.
  11. It is funny because Kelly couldn't get resources to keep his assistant coaches from being poached away. He left and went to LSU who he thought had more resources. Now Freeman is swimming in resources. Maybe it was just that Kelly was an asshole who nobody likes. He seems to be running into similar problems at LSU.
  12. Your problem is that we have a couple of wins over top 10 teams on the road in the last few of years, sorry to burst your masturbatory bubble.
  13. I didn't see much of Bama Georgia outside of highlights, but Oregon looks to me to be the best team right now. Dante Moore is far better than I thought he would be, and their defense is salty. The Auburn TAMU game was so laughably bad, I can't wait for Liucci to bathe in the glory of this victory all week and work the fanbase up into believing this is a playoff team. Jackson Arnold is such a washout of a QB.
  14. I would be going after the Tulane HC, someone from the Oregon staff, but my whale would be D'anton Lynn.
  15. "He's a guy who really got it laid in to him in Dallas. I mean they had like 15 guys in a conga line just balls deep in the kid. It changed him. It made him hungrier, and it has also made him really popular in the locker room" Venables said.
  16. Quite the reveal to say they are switching pants.
  17. It's cute how they think the outcomes would have been any different.
  18. because you have to be in the spirit world to run it.
  19. I am still waiting for the commemorative cups and t-shirts to roll out.
  20. You could kind of see Arch work his way out of the funk in the early part of that game last week. His first couple of completions were still low or off target and his receivers had to go to the ground to catch or pick it up off their shoelaces. Once they made a couple of plays for him, he suddenly started dropping dimes all over the field. Hopefully he doesn't have to work into that every week, but there was a noticeable difference as the game went on.
  21. That freshman backup is a dude. He is the Hutto kid who led the state of Texas in passing last year with almost 4,000 yards. I watched him in that game and he is going to be a problem for teams when he grows up. He is freaky accurate with a quick release and is good at reading defenses. He also has at least some functional mobility, but I wouldn't call him a dual threat.
  22. It was so funny watching some analysis on OU that Klatt did. One thing he noted was "OU gets their defensive signals in super late.... Venables has a history of doing this.... make of that what you will.... I'm just saying... but teams get them very discombobulated when they run tempo." Those fuck knobs will always be cheating in some form or fashion, it is in their #OUDNA.
  23. No no no… he has 12 posts on the football board. The rest are strongly worded letters to the admins.
