  1. It reminds me more of Chuck Knoblach. Ewers has shown he can be elite. I don’t think anyone could have predicted this regression after coming off a minor injury. It’s like he had forgotten the lessons of the last 2.5 seasons
  2. I think it was Mykell Williams, who was projected 1st round pick and this was his first game back. he is a freak
  3. I said the same. Ewers is the starter, but I think Vandy could be his last stand. Reason to play Ewers over Manning is command of the offense and consistency. Manning is going to make freshman mistakes, like trying to beat an NFL Lb to the sideline and taking a 10 yard loss. If Ewers is continues to imitate his freshman self, Sark will go with Arch. Who has no problem firing the ball deep, taking a shot throwing the ball, and adds a running element to the offense.
  4. It was the one in the 4th Q.. Edge got around Banks and knocked the ball out of Quinn’s hand as he was cocking back to throw
  5. I think Sark showed his hand. I don’t think Quinn will have a long leash this week.
  6. Pretty sure the sack on Banks was on the fumble by Ewers on 4th down
  7. Sarkisian noted that it wasn’t an ideal situation for his offensive line to be in, although of the seven sacks allowed by the Longhorns, PFF only credited two to the line, one each for Banks and junior right tackle Cam Williams.
  8. I wouldn’t go that far. Georgia was winning the one on ones. 1 of the biggest differences in this game was all the check downs Quinn has been doing that have gone for 7-8 yards or maybe a Helm hurdle were going for -1 to 2 yards. Georgia secondary was physical and their LBs can scoot and tackle. Quinn was bad, but that doesn’t mean the OL or any Unit on offense was good. Throw in some terrible special teams that cost poor field position all game and you get the disaster we saw
  9. This is the problem with the internet. You can be honest about changes in performance and not lock yourself into a position based on something you said 3 months ago. I would argue Ewers has the highest volatility of any QB in the nation this year. He had great moments (Michigan) and bad moments (OU and Georgia). The issue the last 2 weeks Quinn has not looked uncomfortable. He isn’t stepping up in the pocket or into his throws. He he has been bailing on clean pockets and he has poor escape routes. Escaping out the back is reserved for Lamar Jackson’s of the world. You can not snap a ball from the 11 and have your QB in the end zone. Tackles are expecting him at spot to throw the ball. When he goes deeper it plays straight into speed rushers
  10. They ran a few of them and Bond got owned at the LOS and both were almost picked
  11. The one is understandable. Pick at the Texas 5 yard line.. The sad one was when Texas finally had good field position. That was ruined by 2 drops (Wisner and Moore), so when you got good blocking and decent Qb play receivers decided to kick in on the shit show
  12. His pocket presence was on pt. Threw some great balls with pressure. It’s Ok to give Quinn credit for his good and bad. I was highlighting the insane volatility in Quinn’s game. He can look great and right now he has been a below average College QB for 2 games
  13. Has Quinn ever had a big game at DKR (vs a quality opponent)? Legitimately wondering, he has had some great away games
  14. Run game was closer to 4 yards a carry, if you cut out sacks
  15. It is hard to explain. Ewers looked amazing vs Michigan. That was mostly his pocket presence and footwork. He has come back and completely reverted to freshman Quinn or as Rod B says “Mullet Quinn”. Vandy might be Quinn’s last stand. I never thought I would say that coming into the season
  16. It’s wasn’t all on the OL.. I think it is fair to say every unit on offense got their ass kicked, especially in that 1st half. Bad Ol play and bad QB play makes for a shitfy cocktail. As bad as the offense was the Special teams might have been worse.
  17. You dont have to believe me but think of the context. Its 27-3 with under 6 minutes to play. There is no chance for an OU win. The game is over. This is when most coaches would look to protect their QB before a top 5 match-up. Sark calls Quinn's number on the goal line. Play he very rarely calls. It was either an incredibly stupid thing to do or he had a specific reason. Perhaps I am giving sark too much credit, but think it was brilliant
  18. I am not for a quick hook, but for me it is more about the footwork and pocket presence. I cant be sure, but I think Sark had had enough in the OU game. He ran Quinn late for the TD looking for him to get hit. Just so Quinn could realize he wouldnt break if he got hit..
  19. This is a pretty typical take. In the end he says Texas is executing better. Georgia is not, but he thinks a desperate Georgia puts it together vs Texas. Even people pickign Texas are worried that the "real" Georgia shows up and finally plays to their talent for 4Qs. The tape says it wont happen, but there is obviously a chance.
  20. I have seen plenty on Georgia. They are still 9th in DFEI, that isn’t middle of the pack. They are a very talented defense. Mondon being out is a blow to them. That guy is legit. Sounds like Mykelle is back (projected 1st round Edge player). They are more talented than OU. They are not as well coordinated. They haven’t played with the same discipline, that is where I believe Sark will attack. Texas can score on them, if Ewers rebounds, but don’t underestimate them. This isn’t Georgia 3-4 years ago (missing some of those 1st round playmakers), but they are not mediocre
  21. Georgia is more talented. Their DL is more stout up front, but I agree. OU is a pretty cohesive unit. I would bet Sark comes out using shifts and motions consistently to test Georgia’s eye discipline. I wouldn’t be surprised to see a RB with a big game catching the ball with Mondon out at ILB. From my limited viewing the other LBs struggle in coverage. More empty looks, which Georgia has struggled against and perhaps the only thing Quinn looked completely in control of during RRS. That could simply be motioning Blue/Wisner out of the backfield
  22. Not sure that will be the issue. Lot of teams are not going to give Texas the long ball. OU kept 2 safeties back most the game. I would bet after people saw Arch, he is going to see a lot of deep safeties. That is big reason why Quinn has been so good in the intermediate game (outside OU). There is nice soft spot between the LBs and Safeties. It will be interesting if someone tries to get up on the WRs and take away teh short and intermediate game, but you better have some legit CBs. I am not sure there is a team out there with that level of CB play this year.
  23. MSU double move on Muhammad was the one bad one I remember. That should have been a completion. The completed one was just an excellent throw and catch in between Holmes and Mukuba. Holmes lost his positioning on another one that the WR lost in the sun in that game. Maybe Muhammad had another, not sure. Teh positive is outside the 1st one Texas defenders were in the vicinity and force a good throw. Even NFL guys are not generally hitting above 60% on deep throws.
  24. That SoCar vs A&M game could get interesting. 2 legit DLs in that game. SC edges are excellent. Kennard is an absolute beast. If SoCar gets a couple explosives on offense and they have a chance. Would like them more if their OL was not happy to imitate a well-worn speed bump.
