  1. I do not like the guy, but he is not wrong. Not sure Texas has put together a full game this season vs a decent opponent. Would be great to see that vs OSU.
  2. Its a personal choice. I have this one lower, because it was vs an inferior team. If Texas has a game winning drive over OSU next week, I would put that above this. I know ASU is a playoff team in this new world, but they are not a high level team. Great moment still. reminded me of the Kansas conversion that was necessary in the old system to advance
  3. This is 100% correct. There is no way Texas should have been in that situation. That never should have been a game. Never seen a game where every unit was so up down.
  4. One reason a hate the blitz on 4th and long. If the OL and RB (great block by Wisner I believe, stoned the LB) pick it up, its pretty easy read and throw for the QB.
  5. By todays rule, does anyone know what a catch is?
  6. It was. Pretty sure the sack was one also. I am sure there were more. Sark has run a lot more play action with Quinn, than RPO
  7. I wonder if the offense reverts to that next year
  8. They are #3 in sacks/game. Sawyer and Tuimoloau have 24 sacks off the edge.
  9. 2nd time was 300 yards of garbage. OSU safeties are arguably the best unit in the country. The CBs can be had. The one is very grabby. The biggest difference is OSU is going to get pressure with their front 4. They have NFL guys also. That was one reason that I said Quinn would play well vs ASU. I didnt think ASU could get pressure on Quinn (I also thought Texas would run on them, that was wrong). I dont think Texas needed to run vs ASU (No pressure and not much tight coverage). They will need to at least hit on a couple runs vs OSU. Not so much down to down success running vs OSU. Its when things are blocked up, the RBs have to hit the correct hole, and make a safety miss. Needs to be 20+ yards, not 7.
  10. That would be a pleasant surprise. Consistency is not a word one generally uses to describe the Texas offense. ASU secondary could not cover anyone. I do not think we will see guys consistently open like that again.
  11. I dont think he turtles as much as people think. 1st down calls in the 2nd half: Drive 1: 17-3.. pass - Sack drive 2: safety. field position, nothing to see here Drive 3: 17-8 Run for 2 Run for 6 Pass for 8 Pass INC Inside the 10 score TD Drive 4: 24-16 ... Run - 6 (throw deep on 2nd Down and 4) Sark did not go into run mode, even when some of us were asking for the brakes with 6 minutes to go (Drive 4). Its not turtling, its just shitty offense Just an aside. I saw Fozzy bitching about the lack of commitment to the run. He was bitching about how many times he sees Texas throw on 1st down get and incomplete and run on 2nd. Paraphrasing "Everyone is expecting run on 2nd and long. You run it to get to 3rd and medium. That is not setting the run game up for success".
  12. One thing Texas has been pretty good as the underdog, doesnt happen much. Seeing lines approaching a TD. Sark is going to get the play the disrespected card. Fvck, I sound like that ASU twat
  13. OSU offensive line is not very good. Skill positions are ungodly. It comes down to Will Howard. You have to find a way to make him uncomfortable and get bad Will.
  14. Going to need like 3.5 a carry from called runs. OSU secondary is a different animal than ASU. Texas is not going to have WRs running open all game like ASU. The safeties are legit. If there is a weakness it is at CB. Davison Igbinosun has struggled. I would target him. He loves to committ Pass Interference
  15. Just give it to him. He was great the last 5 minutes. Just is what it is with this offense. For some reason Quinn, OL, WR, and Sark found their rhythm. When they are on they are great. When they are off it is pretty ugly.
  16. Correct. They know they are undersized and not very good on defense. They will overplay any tendency they see on film.
  17. Me too. Changed the protection. Doesn’t mean he changed the entire play. Outside WRs assignments might not have changed. I saw him run up to the OL. I don’t remember any signals to the WRs, but it is possible I didn’t notice. You are probably both right
  18. Opposing coach said he changed the protection
  19. Think opposing coach checked the protection. No idea about the play. Either way it still a good thing
  20. That is why I said this was everything the offense has to give us. It was Quinnessential Texas offense. Long stretches of incompetence and moments of greatness. Time to just accept we are but feathers floating in the hurricane that is the Texas offense. Just buckle up and enjoy the ride. It’s impossible to predict this offense.
  21. Db is on the outside of Golden with his shoulders parallel to the end zone. He is cooked to the inside already as he has to turn his hips and get back inside. He has to do that with Golden running at full speed. honestly it does not even matter. OL, RB, WR, and Quinn all did what had to be done.
  22. Almost right. He was very reliable the first 2 years. I think he needs a slump buster right now though
  23. ASU is known for guessing. They caught Texas quite a few times slanting into outside runs. I would like to see more pistol. Teams have been slanting away from the RB.
  24. Helm was wide open in the flat also.
  25. He did scheme Helm wide open on the TD pass. I also think he got Quinn going. Nice target to motion to Golden on curl. Then trips away from Helm to isolate him on a kind of slant route. That got Texas down for the missed FG, but Quinn looked much better from that point on
