  1. Blue collar atmosphere right now in Detroit. It’s a ground up build after decades of irrelevance. New GM seems to have changed the way things are done. The Stafford trade was a slam dunk for building for the future while sacrificing immediately (not much sacrifice as the team was terrible, except for QB). That’s all to say, Detroit might be a good spot for him. Clear path to starting in a the next year or so after Goff gets moved onward.
  2. You’re right. I was wrongly assuming executives weren’t complete morons. I’m still probably correct, but one should not assume with NFL decision makers in charge.
  3. He’s not getting cut/waived. He’ll be held and traded. He’s definitely a backup target now. That’s why they let him show out. They’re either keeping him or planning on trading him.
  4. He hurt two guys on one play there at the end. Then just walked away flexing.
  5. With 2:30ish left when they took possession, I turned to my wife and said, “Ready for a Casey Thompson special?” Yup, we got it.
  6. As a Northwestern fan due to my significant other, I was happy with the result. Yet, I felt that sick to my gut feeling in the second half I had all last year watching CT and Nebraska lose a game they should have won. I’m a bit more optimistic about texas this year after watching that.
  7. I thought you were talking about cow shit?
  8. I think Frost has his buyout lowered after Oct. so they’ll wait until then to fire him. Casey Thompson is the same QB he was a year ago. Good early, good improvising, decent on anything under 20 yards, gets sloppy late when he’s pushing for a win, and cannot throw anything over 25 yards with any type of consistency. Even though I was rooting for Northwestern (wife’s degree), it was hard to watch as I felt like I was watching every Texas game from a year ago.
  9. Yup, definitely. He should probably do a bunch of camps as well. Where else is he going to learn and develop the skills necessary to be a successful QB?
  10. Also, mothers’ leg? [emoji66] [emoji66] [emoji3092]
  11. Pointing out relevant facts isn’t wrong. Plus, regarding Sark, we should probably wait a couple years before losing our collective minds one direction or another. He’s modeling a bunch of what he does now off Saban, worked for Saban, and is recruiting very well. Of course he’s not the GOAT, and may never amount to anything, but maybe, just maybe, he can be more successful than any coach we’ve had since the ‘00 decade Mack Brown. He has the two best QBs this decade (according to recruitniks) at or coming to Texas. His Oline recruiting looks on point. His Dline recruiting is adequate. He’s focused on the right things with recruiting in mind. He won’t go 12-2 this year, but he doesn’t need to, he just needs to show
  12. I think it’s relevant now to point out that saban went 6-6 in his first season at Bama.
  13. Texas - 45 ULM - 13 Bijan - 192 APY (130 Rushing/62 Passing) I currently have nine 6 week old large breed puppies at home and two kids under 6 YO. Our season cannot possibly involve more shit than my daily life. Bonus call for 8 - 4 regular season record.
  14. Then we could have argued with A&M about who’s 8-4 season was better?
  15. Now just imagine Texas had worked with Sam to develop his arm talent as opposed to relying on his being a battering ram when stuff broke down.
  16. That’s debatable, but yes, an indication of how silly the last few pages have been. At this rate, there will be a premeditated attack on another Surly poster by the time the season rolls around.
  17. So, I hear football starts in a couple weeks. I say we score 50+ vs ULM and give up
