  1. I see 2 seconds of an 18 YO who runs like my grandma. He’s a take, because my grandma was really nice.
  2. It also clarifies the violence of that Cook hit. Dang, he put his body on the line as atonement for busted coverage earlier. PK/Sark must love that. They got to rip him a new one and then praise him all in the same defensive film session.
  3. Texas - 41 OSU - 31 Rec - 24 / 221 yards
  4. Let’s hope Billy Walton stays ranked a 3 star below 200, continues to ball out this season, early enrolls at Texas, and then puts on another 20 lbs of muscle in the off-season. Then he’ll rotate with Burke next year as legitimate edge rushers where every drive we have a fresh set of legs looking to Hulk smash whoever has the ball behind the LOS.
  5. Pretty sure it was Gideon. He is for sure not living up to his namesake.
  6. Tell the big 12 and fox to boot us and OUsux in 2024. You’re about to be the crème de la crème of the big 12 with an expanded playoff. You could be in the cfp every other year with Gundy. That’s a really nice position to be in. Firing Gundy would make y’all look like major assholes; even worse than must of us Surly posters.
  7. Yeah, Cook/Jordan i’m pretty sure. I felt bad for Jordan there, because the safety just completely vacated almost the exact spot the ball was thrown to. He bit hard on the run fake. Tough spot for a freshman. Seems like a simple fix, “Cook, trust your guys up front to stop the run.” I hope that gets drilled this week by the secondary coaches.
  8. This is something i’m concerned about. It seems entirely too easy for qbs to make our linebackers/secondary players go the wrong way, be it a run fake or eye control.
  9. Absolutely. GP and PK have their work cut out for them when game planning for TCU. They seem like a matchup nightmare for us this year. OSU seems easier to game plan, but the players will just have to execute better than this game. Something that i’ve wondered the last two days is how much of the soft coverage (minus the safety/freshman DB blown coverage long TD) by PK is predicated on the idea that our offense is elite but our defensive skill players are not? If we score 35 against ISU, the 21 looks much better. If we force the opponent to make lots of small plays we have a better chance of stopping them in the long run, keeping them to just three points, or turning them over. Then, we just rely on our offense to score more. Is that me justifying things, a losers mentality, or a sign that PK doesn’t have the dudes on defense that he feels can just dominate other teams (a la Georgia).
  10. Beyond just wanting that for him, which I do, Rojo going pro is a great thing. He worked his ass off and got developed into a pro player by this staff Sure, the staff doesn’t get all the credit, but they can point to that success when recruiting. Not everybody is a Bijan Mustardson. Some are great athletes that will need to switch positions, be coached up, and work for it. Rojo going day 2 would be a huge win for him and the team. It helps that we have a stable of backs behind those two that look pretty darn good. That includes two recruits who are playing quite well, especially Baxter. He looks like a stud.
  11. Also, the safety bit hard on the run fake and pulled in. The QB threw it to just about the spot he vacated. Totally different outcome on that play if the safety doesn’t bite.
  12. Screw it… I’ll take it. Fuck that monkey sitting on our back.
  13. ref that called that threw it after the fumble recovery… ?
  14. Did something new happen, and if so, what? I haven’t been paying attention to realignment talk during the season, but I thought things were trending positively for 2024 prior to the season. Especially with the big 12 looking at PAC teams.
  15. Keeping baker [emoji1848] hours… TEXAS!!!!!!!
  16. https://247sports.com/PlayerInstitution/Dijon-Johnson-at--273045/CurrentExpertPredictions/ Bijan’s and Roschon’s apparent half brother plays safety and looks to be going to Florida. How he doesn’t choose Texas after seeing the Bijan Mustardson brand, I don’t know.
  17. Yeah, I laughed in a nervous way watching it. The video hit way too close to home.
  18. Beyond that we’re both UT and wear an orange shade of color?
  19. Their success has largely been predicated on having an amazing offense. I just looked at the last 6 years of defense rankings and they’re more bad than good. 2020 was their best year defensively at #28. All the other years they’ve never been better than #60 with at least one really bad year in the 100s. Now they have a defensive minded coach without the dudes on defense he’s used to having. Plus, Lincoln took their best offensive weapons. It’s a perfect storm for him to start off being terrible. And, this is how I feel about it…
  20. We all should hope OU manages to go 3-3 from here and knock’s off OSU or another top big 12 team. Just good enough to not fire Venables, but bad enough to not have much to sell.
  21. He inherited a program gutted of its top tier talent by the former head coach and attrition. He has plenty of talent, but the pieces don’t fit together yet. His perfect example is, “Hey, look at Sark in year one. Wait until I have some more of my guys and have time to do the full install.” He should get a couple years to work out the kinks. Now, here’s me saying I hope and believe that he will ultimately fail. Not because I don’t like Venables, but because that would mean an extended period of misery for OU.
  22. Just so long as he’s not as good as Roschon Johnson, I’ll be happy.
