  1. If he’s contributing by November I’ll be happy. I wouldn’t expect much out of him this season.
  2. He also ran for 200 yards at almost ten per clip in that game. I am guessing Tech sold out to stop the pass and he tore them up with his legs. He is a big guy and will be used a ton as a runner in their big games. Maybe he won't hold up. But he will be much better than the garbage they had last year. They should win 8 or 9.
  3. Damn, 18.2 career return average on punts without housing one. That has to be some sort of record for a guy who has returned punts for two years. Would have been an outstanding pickup.
  4. Just don't do it if there is less than 5 to go. Roughing is pretty rare. They call running into a lot.
  5. Yes he was. We also put our best athletes on the punt block team. I remember Roy Williams getting a couple. I don't mind going for blocks if it is more than 5 yards to go. I don't like extending drives with running into the punter. Especially against douchey times like OU who always seem to have a punter who flops.
  6. I think the idea is that this year we can send waves upon waves of fresh pass rushers. Bet the rotation is tighter in the big games. But there are a lot of options of getting to the QB, proven and unproven but with talent. We should get a lot of sacks and put a lot of pressure on QBs this year.
  7. I have nothing against Florida and like watching talented QBs who have the potential to be great. Sure seems like Lagway has it all except durability. His deep ball passes last year when healthy were absolute dimes.
  8. I thought we should have grabbed a punt returner in the portal. Should not have been that hard. But surely someone on the roster can be good at it. Last year I thought it was malpractice not to grab a punter. I think given the portal, we should almost never sign high school kickers and punters. And we should always have ample return weapons.
  9. I think the optimism is because Arbuckle and Mateer will obviously be better than what they had last year. But to me that means 9-3 or 8-4. Their roster does not have enough talent. Reminds me of the FUPM Brown teams from 2011, 2012, and 2013. Good for maybe an upset and sneaking into the end of the top 25 if things break right. But not a serious contender. We should beat them easily if we bring our B game. C game would be a nail biter. I see them being a slightly less version of their 2023 squad.
  10. My son and I hiked Ute up to Ajax this morning. 3100 feet and 2.8 miles in 90 minutes. Hot tub time now.
  11. Yes. But I was concerned about DT prior to 2023 and 2024. Preseason 2023 we had not idea that Murphy and Sweatt would do what they did. Same with Collins and Broughton last year.
  12. Yeah, what he spends is like me finding change in my couch cushions.
  13. Can’t stand Ketchum. And never watch his YouTube channel or show. But it popped up the other day and it looks like he’s lost a bunch of weight. He’s now just normal fat like most of the posters on here. Here is a screen grab.
  14. Someone who would know told me Jamaal busted his ass at Texas. Never missed a class and sat in front row in every class.
  15. There isn’t much. But there is some. Notably first scene where he stabs his sister.
  16. That shit is paying off. I see them all over Texas. And have been in Montana and Colorado all summer. Seems like half the men I see are wearing Poncho. And many I’ve talked with aren’t Texans. Counted five last night at a restaurant in Aspen.
  17. My mom rented Halloween when they were going out to dinner. Think I was seven. She thought it was benign. That white masked bastard chased me with his slow walk in my dreams for years.
  18. Hiked Ute trail to top of Ajax. 3100 feet of elevation gain in about 2.7 miles. It got the blood pumping. Took me 95 minutes.
  19. View tonight from balcony /porch of our rental, where we ate dinner.
  20. Saw this guy near City Market on way back to rental.
  21. In Aspen for a couple weeks on way back from Montana. Just got in. Son and I hiked up to Ute Rock. Been working on fitness and made it up in 29 minutes. About 15 minutes faster than last summer. Son still beat me up. But not by much at all. Town isn’t nearly as crowded as it has been since Covid. My rental is cheaper than it was the last few years. Not pre Covid pricing though. From top of Ute Rock. Going to hike up to top of Ajax tomorrow and ride Gondola down. Going to hike to Crested Butte when one of my buddies gets in town next week. Photo from Ute Rock overlooking town. Another from Ute Rock to mountain summit.
  22. anyone remember Bullmarket? He talked all sorts of shit. Then his picture was posted. Oh my goodness….
  23. Most times you do not need a lawyer. Just show up. If the cop does not show, which happens maybe 30 percent of the time, it will get dismissed. If he does show up, just cut a deal with the prosecutor for deferred. Whatever you spend on a lawyer is usually a waste unless they can get it dismissed. Even then you're probably breaking even as the spend on attorney will be similar to the cost of deferred. I don't show up. I just call the prosecutor and ask for deferred over phone. Usually works. I don't want to go down to court for a traffic ticket unless I have to.
  24. I know Matt Davis well. When I was a baby lawyer my firm lent out associates to muni court to prosecute traffic citations to give us trial experience. He wrote thousands of BS tickets per year and he and his buddies were scamming taxpayers with overtime. I wrote about it at the time on Hornfans. He and his buddy would write a massive amount of tickets at speed traps. Often putting each other as witnesses. So they would be called to court multiple times per week. They would sign in at 8 am when court started in multiple courts. Then give the bailiff there phone numbers. So they would be earning OT pay starting at 8 am. Then they would disappear to go work side security jobs, and when we would try and call them as a witness the bailiff would say they were unavailable or in another court. In the off chance we could get them to show up, they would say they needed their other cop buddy listed on the ticket as a witness to make the case. They would never be available. So we would end up having to dismiss all their tickets. These guys were fleecing the city for hundreds of thousands of dollars in OT. Everyone in the court knew exactly what these assholes were doing. One assistant DA reported them. Matt Davis stalked the assistant DA and found out where he drank. Gave him a DWI charge in retaliation. That scared most off. It was Davis, an asian cop I cannot remember his name, and another cop named Running. The Chronicle finally reported on them and noted they had fleeced the city out of a million in OT. It was more than that. Davis was writing about 10,000 tickets per month. So many of us probably were ticketed by him. He pulled me over on Allen Parkway once with a line of other cars with his buddies. I was not even speeding. You can recognize the prick because he always wore Oakley sunglasses.
