  1. Oh shit there goes that bad man again.
  2. For Buda: Best BBQ is Louie's Craft BBQ (food truck). Not mind-blowing but decent brisket and closer than driving to real deal places. Valentina's hopefully will fix their shit and re-open to be as good as their food truck was back in the day. Quite a few restaurants just around Main St. We like Mudbugs - the New Orleans BBQ shrimp are amazing. Bacon wrapped shrimp entree is very good. Main St. Pizzeria is pretty good. Brooklyn's Down South was underwhelming on our visit. Gotji's Kitchen Thai (food truck) - I had "The Best Pad Thai", and accurate name is accurate.
  3. Long overdue. The new place was a disaster nearly from the get-go, and whoever was running it nearly destroyed that brand. They certainly harmed its reputation. I was rooting for it living in the area and having known the food truck well for years. But the food and service here was routinely slower even than the food truck, or absurdly late (like 1 hour for two tacos in our experience) or never available -- that's not unusual for BBQ but if you have a big brick and mortar open 6 days a week you need to figure that out. Staff looked confused or idle or disinterested a lot. And old man thoughts, but the music was way too loud. Had to yell to have a conversation. Hope they turn it around.
  4. Or 3 walks and a HBP. 220, 221 whatever it takes. They've been shutout the last two home games. Speaking of ballpark promotions, it's Corey Seager World Series Bobblehead night. Hopefully he can bobble his way to a big game.
  5. Awesome, my favorite new show from 2022 or whenever it aired. Usually I get impatient the slow burn plots, but the production style, acting, surrealism and ominous theme of this one had me hooked. Hope the 2nd season keeps the formula going. Concur on the rewatch.
  6. Bumped because the troglodytes who still advocate for book banning deserve continual public humiliation and scorn. And because local librarians are being fired for refusing to remove banned books, such as: https://www.statesman.com/story/news/politics/state/2024/03/04/exclusive-llano-county-tx-librarian-suzette-bakerfired-after-refusing-censor-books-files-lawsuit/72774129007/ One guy, the head of the snake on this so debatable if he's human, appears to be this aggie choad -- Rep. Jared Patterson -- mentioned in the thread above because he has already stated he'd ban Lonesome Dove. That's because, as his legislation states, "the sexualization of children must stop." He's never read it (nor likely any book he wants to ban.) After decrying Lonesome Dove, one of his comrades decided to "help" him out by buying it on Kindle and searching for bad, horrible, nasty, terrible, naughty, mind-corrupting words like "vagina". Actual literate readers had to point out better words to search for. Full article here: https://www.texasmonthly.com/news-politics/jared-patterson-lonesome-dove-book-bans/ Texas is either 1st or 2nd only to Florida, depending on the source, in banned books. That's some excellent company to keep, but Rep. Jared Patterson above, aka the choad from Texas A&M University, says we must be #1. He is from Frisco and is a rep for 106th district (Frisco etc). So while the 5th Circuit Court said his legislation could not be enforced, it's still out there. And Texas schools still banned 625 books in 2022-2023, with Frisco ISD "leading" the way to ignorance by accounting for more than half of the book bans. Here's Frisco ISDs list: https://www.friscoisd.org/departments/library-media-services/library-collection-review-project/materials-removed And a recent article from SXSW on the punishment aspect and fear-inducing and stultifying effects on schools, parents, librarians etc. https://www.statesman.com/story/news/education/2024/03/13/hb-900-sxsw-2024-vendors-librarians-bookpeople-talk-challenges-texas-book-ban-laws-censorship/72930635007/ TLDR; the Texas A&M Aggie choad known as Rep. Jared Patterson is a hateful POS.
  7. Yep. It didn't go the way "Malcolm FleX" expected. He ignored his own advice.
  8. New podcast about the Austin bombings in 2018. Very good so far, and an interesting look at how insane it was (duh) along with the timing, crisis management and thought processes of various bomb squad personnel and other investigators. https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/witnessed-19-days/id1578324041
  9. A temper like that? With that dumb bitch yelling at him on for a full minute...I'd have probably shot her ONE TIME, JUST ONE TIME, ONE TIME.
  10. Yeah, I like seeing LeBron ironically whine about officiating, but a head blow after the shot isn't "marginal." Below is from the "NBA video rulebook" and this is a guy touching the hand/wrist, also after the ball is released. The shooter falls down (flops) but it's a foul. https://videorulebook.nba.com/archive/point-of-contact-foul-defender-makes-contact-to-shooters-arm-after-release/ So a hit to the head after release is clearly a foul. It's a foul if the guy doesn't have the ball.
  11. His SO% is 23%, continuing his trend of it dropping every year. Small sample still, but it was 27% last year and 2022. His chase rate is higher though so far this year.
  12. Hahahahah!!!! Fuck the Lakers. Was that the only time Denver has led? Seemed like it.
