  1. You're gonna get hit anyway, so u might as well catch it
  2. Holmes has had great coverage on 2 targets
  3. Bad stuff the last several plays. Interior O-line gets its shit pushed in for a 3 yard loss. Blue shows he is no Bijan catching the ball. Should have been 3rd and short. And then Quinn gets greedy, resulting in a pick. Just need to settle down and play smarter.
  4. FIFY
  5. Hard pass on BH for the same reason BigD stated. It's weak.
  6. Lindenwood?! Seems like aggy's schedule maker must now be working at Kansas.
  7. I see the Bears beat the Steelers 14-10. I thought NFL preseason was over.
  8. The Beatles did it a fair amount as well, as indicated in a couple of the above posts. There was also Savoy Truffle, which references Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da. John Lennon referenced I Am The Walrus in his song "God." Harrison referenced You Really Got A Hold On Me in When We Was Fab. I know Madonna has put prior lyrics in one or more of her songs -- just can't recall the song(s), though.
  9. Also Beatles -- All You Need Is Love (references She Loves You in the fadeout) Sting -- Love Is The Seventh Wave (references Every Breath You Take at the end) Also Sting -- We'll Be Together (references If You Love Somebody Set Them Free)
  10. Don't think I'd ever previously seen a handle of 1783.
  11. I-40. Stop at Petrified Forest National Park. Stop in Winslow -- stand on corner and wait for girl in a flatbed Ford. Stop in Flagstaff and go to Mother Road Brewery.
  12. "Just don't be an ass on here is all I really ask" = "Don't you dare post anything that could even remotely be construed as criticism of me!"
  13. Well, scratch that option. https://www.espn.com/espn/story/_/id/40884759/judge-blocks-espn-fox-warner-sports-streaming-venture-venu
  14. +1
  15. Always kinda liked the Breakup Song. Jeopardy not so much. Just realized the latter kinda ripped off Santana's Evil Ways.
  16. The last week or so has been one big kick to the balls of this Horns/Vikings fan with the injuries to McCarthy, Baxter and Clark. Fuck.
  17. Yeah, McKenna B-I-B always seemed like a proofed up EW SiB to me -- same mashbill and whatnot. And I liked it when it was around the same price as the EW because at 86.6 proof, the EW can sometimes almost be a little too smooth, so the additional kick of the McKenna was welcome. But McKenna isn't *that* much better than EW in my book. The price of McKenna at my main place has now slipped down to $60, which is certainly better than where it was at not too long ago ($100), but I still can't bring myself to shell out even $60 for it when there are so many terrific options in that range. If/when it drops below $50, then I'll probably pull the trigger and revisit it for the first time since the price skyrocketed after it won the SF competition back in '19. Related note: Color me happy that Heaven Hill wised up and decided to sell the EW SiB outside of Kentucky again. It's still a bargain, IMO.
  18. The Sporting News article that is one of the external links to the Wikipedia article you linked is a pretty interesting read.
  19. Shitty injury news is shitty.
  20. I agree with all this. There are certainly some similarities, esp. the sprawl, traffic, and car dependency. But LA is quite a bit more expensive in my experience, has better weather, and offers more outdoor recreation opportunities. Although both are certainly sprawling, LA seems more densely populated. The two cities also have different vibes -- LA is more laid back, Houston is more industrial.
  21. Not sure which board to put this on, so I'll try here. With the demise of Longhorn Network and a very recent move to a new house, I need some advice on the best set-up to watch Texas games this coming season. I'm in CA, so the local stations won't be carrying Texas games. So what's the best set-up to ensure I can see most, if not all, of Texas' games this coming season? I was thinking some combination of network channels (ABC, Fox, etc.) along with having access to the SEC Network would be the best way to go, but someone tell me if there's another, better way. Viewing habits: In addition to Longhorns games, I'm mostly interested in watching NFL on Sundays, the occasional movie (typically via Netflix or Amazon Prime), and local news to see what the hell is going on in my own backyard. I don't watch much network TV, nor do I stream much other than Netflix or Amazon Prime. I previously had Directv, and that's still an option in my new house. On the positive side, it carries the SEC Network channel. But while Directv has been good, it's expensive. And when NFL Sunday Ticket went to Youtube, Directv lost a big chunk of its appeal for me. Another option is Spectrum, which also has the SEC Network. I figure I can get SEC+ via the ESPN+ app if I do either Spectrum or Directv. What is somewhat intriguing (but about which I know very little) is the idea of a streaming platform like Hulu, Fire, Roku, etc., along with an antenna to get local channels. Because I am an old, l know fuck-all about Hulu, Sling, etc., but I'm willing to learn. One thing I like is that it sounds like it would be substantially cheaper than the other options. One thing that concerns me a little is picture quality. Is that concern unfounded? I suppose I can always upgrade the internet/wifi speed if necessary. So . . . what's my best option to make sure I can see our beloved Horns stomping the shit out of their opponents?? Is there some other option I haven't considered? TIA
  22. Curious to know your reasoning. I've lived in both places, and don't see the similarities aside from the fact that they're both big cities.
  23. Gets as much snow annually as Buffalo. But it melts a lot faster . . .
  24. Meatchicken with a big middle finger to the NCAA. I say fuck you to both the NCAA and the cheating bastages in the Michigan football program. https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/40796043/jim-harbaugh-michigan-honorary-captain-opener
