    Getting old sucks

Not me but my wife. A month or so ago an ad came on TV about the Billy Joel deal at MSG - on tonight. We both enjoy his music. We spoke this afternoon about the show coming on later and maybe recording it. A few hours later another ad comes on and she’s like “Hey there’s a Billy Joel deal on tonight!” My mistake was to say something like no kidding we talked about this earlier. Now she’s mad at me for making her feel bad. This is a pattern I’ve seen the last few years that seems more common lately.
  5. Wonder what AT&T, IBM and Mercedes paid for ad rights for the whole tournament?
  6. All those folks sitting on the hill in front of the #10 tee box is crazy.

  15. Well it’s $2/MSCF. Thousand cubic feet at standard conditions.
  16. Dear God - Please let the boom last until I retire. Amen.
  17. At some point, you pull the power back and that thing has to land.
  18. I was walking through Neimen’s with my UT daughter (no pix) in Houston. She’s not a fashionista in the least. I walked up to a random display of purses and said something like “hey I bet this purse is more than your tuition bill this semester”, and it was. We don’t own any purse like this in our house to say the least.
  19. There’s a metric butt load of infrastructure and knowledgeable work force (service companies, sand haulers, chemicals, electric power distribution, etc just to name a few) required for the shale production which has all matured in the last 10-15 years in the Permian among others. Chulas who drive Escalades and husbands work on frac crews say hola. Might be hard to replicate that in a place like Algeria or Azerbaijan or someplace.
  20. Sorry to waste your time.
  21. Even in the US, the surface owner is in lots of cases not the minerals owner - horizontal severance. The surface owners are compensated for the use, but not like the mineral owner with his royalty interests.
  22. I guess my question is re: #3 - How much unconventional (shale) production is there outside of North America? That technical know how can certainly be done internationally. Though I’m not a geologist I assume there are comparable shale beds in other prolific fields around the world.
