  1. It took me a while to figure out the first and last letter. I set it down and came back to it a couple hours later and got the word almost immediately. Wordle 241 4/6 ⬜⬜🟩🟨⬜ 🟨⬜🟩⬜⬜ ⬜🟩🟩🟨⬜ 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩

    Getting old sucks

Had a total knee replacement about 12 weeks ago. Physical therapy went fine and I’m basically done and everything has been going well. I stopped by The University on Saturday to take my senior daughter (no pics) to lunch. We were walking along a shaded sidewalk where some ice chunks were falling off the roof over us. The ice chunks were melting on the sidewalk (I thought). I slipped on a patch of ice and my new knee ended up collapsing where used to be I could catch myself and recover. I fell right flat on my face. My knee was over bent and stressed and hurts like hell. I’ve never had the out of control falling experience before and it sucks.
  9. You know, I just had this exact experience at the same German auto dealership. My vehicle has 16K miles on it. Took it in for an oil change, and look at a couple of items in the electronics, and walked out with an $850 bill and an offer to install new tires 'cause the old ones are worn out.
  10. Brisket sandwich and blueberry cobbler slammed. No Burnt Ends RTIC cup though. I can almost see the RTIC place from my office window on 290, maybe I should see if they have any left over.
  11. That last one looks way larger than the others. Maybe perspective?
  12. We still on for today? @Pinkertons Looking forward to it.
  13. We had our daughter stand up in front of our adult Sunday school class and give her sales pitch. Many boxes of cookies were sold that day.
  14. I've finished the book. It was engaging to the end. The ending leaves room for part 2 in my opinion. Beautifully written and crafted novel, some poignant moments, and not as good as Gentleman in Moscow.
  15. I started with a Kindle in 2009 when I was traveling to Africa several times a year, for weeks at a time. I was carrying a stack of paperbacks for each trip, and got tired of the bulk, so went with a Kindle. I'm on my 3rd Kindle now, Oasis which I got last summer, 2021. I have hundreds of books on it. I recommend it highly. I don't use all the features of book marks, highlights, search function etc. as I just read for pleasure, but it's got a lot of power for these type of things. Still prefer a hard copy from time to time if I'm needing to leaf through the book, but I suspect the Kindle search function is superior to the "leaf through it" method. Can't comment on the library lend program.
  16. Could see this smoke drifting southeast across Houston on my way home on the west Grand Parkway.
  17. I'm about halfway through. Honestly, it's not quite as engaging as his other books. Maybe it picks up steam on the second half.
  18. Need to try this with my sourdough culture. Make the dough the day before, and let it rise overnight.
  19. Uber to Kemah Boardwalk or Space Center Houston is probably the best call. 40 minute ride, hang out for several hours, 40 minute ride back per Google Maps (depending on traffic). Better than staying in the airport, and as noted before the immediate vicinity around Hobby sucks (Telephone Road holla). Figure an hour travel on each end.
