  1. We called it "ticket draw" but it was the same thing. And yeah, the lines for drawing TX-OU tickets were crazy.
  2. The New York Times has recipes??? Who knew??????
  3. His reverse voodoo hex jinx isn't going to work. (Please don't work, reverse voodoo hex jinx)
  4. I think he might be disappointed when he finds that this coming era of UT-TAMU football is going to be just like the previous era of UT-TAMU football-- Texas winning the vast majority of games including having a winning record in College Station.
  5. That's the weirdest part about it. Every ag I know is proud of the fact that they are the ones who got cold feet about the PAC-16 and backed out of the deal. They don't openly admit that they lied for the next year while negotiating their exit to the SEC all while dealing in bad faith with the B12, but they revel in the fact that it was their hesitation and decision to back out of the PAC deal that gave Fox and Disney enough time to come up with the money to save the B12, and thus "trap evil t.u. in the BDF for another decade."
  6. Wow. Pretty much every detail in that weird and hysterical recounting of false history was wrong.
  7. After that game, the team started staying further out of town, in places like Brenham, to try and avoid their bullshit.
  8. For the old farts, just do a pot of Wick Fowler's with 2 lbs standard ground beef, and throw some cooked beans in at the end. Sounds like that's what they're looking for anyway.
  9. Had to smile yesterday watching the ags' two "impressive" wins vanish. Lulz.
  10. it's amusing to me that they're now crafting some new narrative about ZOMG NIGHT GAMES. We're not being forced to play ANY night games against SEC opponents on the road, oh noes! Nevermind that we're also not benefitting from getting a bunch of night games against SEC opponents at home, either. Miss State 3:15, Florida 11 AM, Kentucky 2:30 PM. Only Georgia was a night game, and they keep pointing out that our 2-score loss that was 1-score at the end of the 3rd quarter, was a total blowout. So, I guess night games aren't that important? Or, they're only important when they favor some strange and nonsensical narrative the ags are attempting to craft? Meanwhile the ags got LSU at home as a night game, and most likely will get Texas at home as a night game. If they beat us, night games will matter, if they lose, then it'll be the fault of something else which no doubt involves some nefarious plans devised and implemented by the snakey-sip axis of evil.
  11. 64 like the basketball tournament. Plus a few play-in games.
  12. Yeah I completely agree, which is why I think it'll eventually happen, that the conference goes to 9 games. My only point is, there's no way the conference is going to go to 9 games, UNTIL Disney pays for it. It's the SEC's remaining bargaining chip and they're not going to give it away for free.
  13. I'm fine with him telling his football team and everyone else that Texas is not their rival.
  14. I don't think the SEC is going to add a 9th game unless/until Disney offers to pay more for it.
  15. I feel ya. We've still got BOA Grand Nationals next week... who's your school?
  16. Similar, but the 3 perma-rivals don't have to be the same for everyone, so not a full pod set-up. No need for A&M to play OU and Arkansas every year just because those are our historical rivals, instead the ags' three could be Texas, LSU, and Miss State or somebody. OU could have Texas, Missouri, and Florida. LSU could have A&M, Ole Miss, and Alabama. And then you do home/away with 6 for two years, and switch to the other 6 for this next 2 years. Some folks were referring to this setup as 3+6+6.
  17. Auburn can definitely win that game.
  18. Felt and did the exact same thing. Mediocre minds think alike!
  19. Sturdy Shannon's Strait Plate, sunny side up.

    Breakfast places

Yeah this is correct. Outside of Texas, lots of people call them breakfast burritos, while we call them breakfast tacos, but it's the same thing. For visitors, just understand that in Austin and much of Texas, the breakfast taco is king, and if you find a place that has a "breakfast burrito" on the menu, it's generally going to be bigger, served on a larger tortilla, and most times not as good.
  21. FAFO. I mean, you're right, but I can't muster any sympathy for them. Hooligans of all types suck.

    First 2 hours of MTV

In the late 70s, HBO was airing a modern version of the music videos that were later popularized on MTV. They'd air a couple in a row every now and then, as filler between feature presentations. They were labeled as "HBO Video Jukebox." Then in 1981, HBO packaged Video Jukebox as a short show, around 30 minutes, with 6 or 7 or 8 music videos in a row. That show was officially launched after MTV aired, but the music video format had been around for several years at that point. It's possible that music videos were broadcast on other networks as well, perhaps the cable SuperStations like WTBS or WGN or USA network, but I only remember them from HBO.
  23. Pork loin and smoked turkey are usually very good at Rudy's.
  24. Well they clearly did it wrong. When we threw trash on the field, something good happened for US, not our opponent.
