  1. I never minded Buxton all that much before, never really gave him half a thought. But the part he plays on DtS is just so smarmy and irritating. Now I have to agree with all of the WB-haters on this thread.
  2. Yup, we were sledding down Murchison hill. People were skiing down 2222 at the Tumbleweed. In February 1996 it hit 99 one day and we dropped everything and went skiing on Lake Travis. I think people just forget that we've had extremes in Austin long before now. Maybe they're a little more extreme now, but it's not by a whole bunch. Mostly, you're all just turning into crotchety old farts who complain about the weather. Same as it ever was.
  3. I mean, this is just a few rearranged pixels away from being a trollface meme. Somebody should finish the job...
  4. Exactly my response every time I hear some dumb chucklefuck attempt to raise that hypothetical.
  5. I don't know about that but it's certain that Spring Break will be about 20 degrees cooler and 85% more drizzly than the weeks before and after.
  6. Yup, this here winter weather is why I choose to live here.
  7. Many of them do a lot of cycling and triathlon training in the offseason. And not EVERY city has $100M worth of bike lanes like Austin does...
  8. I saw it Friday night and agree with those saying it was fun. And the kids liked it. And after seeing the trailer, I'm really looking forward to the next GOTG as well.
  9. In the late 80s, we had a lot of Anderson "cove parties" in the then-undeveloped coves of Shepherd Mountain and Jester Estates. Bonfires and booze and plenty of cute girls. Lots of us had friends at Lanier and McCallum, the other north Austin schools, and they'd show up to our cove parties. Some from Westlake too. And due to being bussed to Martin Junior High and intermingled with South Austin kids, I also had some friends at Crockett, but they didn't tend to come up to North Austin parties.
  10. I don't really care whether we play the ags on Tday weekend, or Halloween, or in September. The only thing that matters is playing OU during the state fair, typically on the second Saturday of October. All the rest don't make a shit.
  11. Any non USAA options? I'm not eligible. @Wulaw Horn who was your insurer? How were they to work with on the claim? Anyone can sell you insurance. Claims are important. Gronk, is that you??? From what h4l says, it sounds like you can go directly through Progressive, which makes sense. I audit my insurance every few years to see if I can save money, and USAA definitely isn't the cheapest, but they have by far the best customer service of any insurer I've ever used. So there's always that balance to strike.
  12. +whatever on not really caring about sausage. To me it's just a filler. I'll order it if the place specialize in some form of sausage, but it's never at the top of my list. Brisket and pork spare ribs. Also, chicken was an absolute staple at CenTex BBQ places until maybe 25 years ago, now it's harder to find. But I do love some BBQ chicken from time to time.
  13. USAA uses a desk from Progressive for its non-automobile insurance, so both my boat and RV are insured through Progressive via USAA.
  14. Now HERE is a car that would be a true head-turner:
  15. I love the idea of a surly top 35-50. We all agree on so many things, this should go swimmingly! Seriously though, in for the rankings.

    Breakfast places

What about hot chicks with great tits, you a fan of them, too?
  17. Nearly everyone has mocked RBR. We were mocking them even before they released their livery, with the expectation that it would look exactly the same. Ferrari is Ferrari, slight alterations will occur but no real need to mess with perfection. I liked the shift to more black and less white after the initial departure of Santander a couple years back, because it looked more like the classic Ferraris of the 80s/early 90s. As @Burt Macklin pointed out, The University of Texas doesn't change up its football uniform very much either, because it's already perfect. Yeah I don't hate the Merc livery, I just commented that it's boring AF. And really disappointing after some of the truly beautiful silver/teal liveries they've rolled out over the past 5 or 7 years. I DO hate the squashed sidepod look, that's truly, truly ugly. But it doesn't have anything to do with the Merc livery. I understand the technical reasons for deflated sidepods, I just don't like the way it looks. There were technical reasons for the dong-noses a few years back too, but that didn't make them any less ugly. Now THAT is an example of a beautiful black livery. Tons of graphic detail both subtle and less so. The All Blacks would be proud of that car.
  18. I don't expect Texas to dominate all of the minor sports, but most of our teams will certainly be competitive. And don't forget our quidditch prowess.
  19. Indeed. We actually hate the SEC, and this is part of our plan to destroy it from the inside. Mission KPIs are all green and mission objectives well within reach. Fuck the SEC.
  20. I don't worry about this being a sign of age, I just view it as them being clever enough to create a playlist that caters to awesome people. Like me.
