    Tex Mex

Homemade tortillas, not many places at all. I35/Tech Ridge is pretty close to the northern part of North Lamar. There's a Chuy's and a Maudie's right there.
  2. So I'm sure Epstein is claiming 220,000. Seriously though, what has been the peak attendance and how does this compare? I don't get into 2-wheels so I've never been, but I have a friend that owns two Ducatis and he loves it, goes ever year. (Yes, he owns two Ducatis because one or the other is always in the shop. Seriously)
  3. So cool seeing the Norwegian instructors saluting in send-off for the Ukrainian soldiers. There was a similar one a couple days ago for British trainers, I believe. One of the fellas should make a video stringing them all together. I'd donate $9.95 to the cause, for that.
  4. Agree. It should have been Rush and AC/DC t-shirts, because Metallica sucks.
  5. I love seeing the difference in attitude in the control room between a SpaceX launch and a NASA launch. Plus all the blue jeans and baseball caps.
  6. Early 80s was way better. But my folks who met at UT in 1961, would say that Old Austin died in about 1976 or so.
  7. I consider it to be part of the charm.
  8. Yup. I grab stickers every park/forest/seashore we go to, and they go on the RV's front door.
  9. Pretty sure I know where it is...
  10. Yup, catering 101 right there. Also, if you long-slice the brisket off the flat, you can cut those in half or even thirds. Women and children tend to leave a lot of uneaten meat on their trays, simply because slices are too long.
  11. I know someone who's looking. Not sure why you bought an aggie/sooner colored truck, but this guy went to Texas State so the color shouldn't bother him too much. PM me details and/or pics and I'll forward to him.
  12. Oh no, you're gonna get wood all wound up again...
  13. There are cabinet smokers, and then there are.... cabinet smokers.
  14. Speaking of Live Oak, their 26th anniversary party is on Saturday 4/22. I'll be there, so just look for the guy wearing a burnt orange Live Oak t-shirt.
  15. Just showed my kids the trailer and they are too. And as a matter of record, they tend to be much better judges of the quality of a movie, than do incel Youtubers.
  16. I like the sprint races. More racing = good The stakes could be altered, but I'm cool with the change of pace in the format from time to time.
  17. I was not at all excited about or interested in another Captain Marvel standalone movie. Until I saw this trailer. Agree, it looks extremely fun. I'm in.
  18. Yup. Live Oak Hefe is the gold standard for German-tasting hefeweizen in the USA. Live Oak Gold is a very good American version of a German pilsner. And not your question but as a bonus, Live Oak Pilz is an outstanding American version of a Czech pilsner.
  19. Actual footage of Porterhouse's "hair product" in action:
  20. I believe you, I've never had Truth, I'm making no comment on them. Just pointing out that lots of people like, and even prefer, lean brisket. And it's not some ridiculous opinion, lean brisket is fantastic when a brisket is properly cooked. Plenty of places get it right. But I'll also point out that food pics of brisket often come out looking dry af even when it was perfect.
  21. I don't agree. I don't think most folks know this at all. I think most folks expect the lean to be dry and crappy, hence all of the incredulity on this site every time someone says, what I just said. I don't like the texture of fatty brisket, it's subjective of course. But if a place doesn't get the lean right, then I won't be ordering brisket from them again.
