  1. Agreed. Wasn't trying to imply they could. Most of their unconventional resources are gas from tight sandstones and shale, and coal-bed methane.
  2. China produces ~4 million barrels per day, but their demand is much higher. Their largest field, Daqing, was discovered in the 1959 and they continue to operate it to maximize production without major concerns about economics as it is a strategic necessity.
  3. The whole crop growing aspect is complete bullshit. The "fresh" water used for fracking in the Permian is normally about 4,000 ppm to 15,000 ppm total dissolved solids (TDS) and very high in calcium and sulfate. The produced water salinity from Permian oil wells depends on the formation and geographic area, but normally ranges from 80,000 ppm to 190,000 ppm TDS. For reference, most drinking water is under 500 ppm TDS. The vast majority of the water, if not all, is way too saline to use on crops or for livestock, not to mention the dangers of containing dissolved organic molecules from the crude oil.
  4. Got lunch there today as well before headed out of town for a couple of weeks. Steak and enchilada combo for the win. Best deal in town at $14. Was $11.50 or $12.50 until about a year ago.
  5. I think something about the distributor trying to fuck them over, so they vowed not to use Lonestar. That's because they don't have a fryer.
  6. This asshole?
  7. That sucks. Hope it manages to survive intact for perpetuity. Love that place. Go almost every week.
  8. You may be able to get temporary accommodations and use said address if they'll let you pay with a credit card. I had a relocation service that paid for a temporary place for me for about a month, and I used that temporary address to open my bank account. I had my work write a letter proving my address, role, salary, and permanence of the job and took that to the bank in the UK to get an account. I used Barclay's FWIW. You probably are well versed in having to transfer money internationally, living overseas, but I used Transferwise (now called Wise I believe) to transfer money between my US and UK banks with minimal transfer fees. There may be better options out there today.
  9. LO-fucking-L "And the obsession with freedom, bro? You have a thousand laws about what you can do with your own body. You can buy a rifle faster than you can get a library card. That’s not freedom, that’s live-action satire" "The heat is unbearable. You’re not sweating, you’re slow roasting in cowboy purgatory, and Texans are out here in denim and boots like its springtime in Paris." "Texas is not a place; its a coping mechanism disguised as a state."
  10. Funny. That show has a longhorn. Fahad Albutairi. I drank with him at the Posse a few times. I didn't know about the show, but recognized him. Small world. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fahad_Albutairi

What's the over-under on months until this guy gets arrested for a sex crime via some sting operation? Is 18 about right? 14 feels more right for him...

I was thinking the chip, or "mark" if you will, could be provided by a new government organization called the Bureau of European Ancestry Substantiation and Tracking

II Corinthians walk into a bar. Bartender: “Haven’t seen y’all in a while. Where’s your boy Paul?” II Corinthians: “He ghosted us after his third letter.” Bartender: “There was a third letter?” II Corinthians: "Ya, but it didn’t make canon.” Bartender: “Harsh.” II Corinthians: "Tell me about it - guy, really lost his head after that.”

I wish ANTIFA was real and would start taking action.
  16. I was there too. Longest encore I've ever seen. Good mix of solo, White Stripes, Raconteurs, and one Dead Weather song.
  17. Ok. Google yourself. I just watched a doc on McNair. Then I googled if VY had a documentary and saw their was supposedly one from 9 days ago. Not sure if it's true. I find nothing else on it. So in a sense, I agree with you that the link is bullshit.
  18. Anyone know anything about this? Is this just some AI bullshit, because I can't find anything anywhere? https://90minsport.com/netflix-releases-forever-10-the-vince-young-story-a-powerful-new-documentary-chronicling-the-rise-triumph-and-enduring-legacy-of-the-texas-longhorn-legend-who-redefined-college-footba/
  19. complete bullshit
  20. I remember seeing some monitoring wells, so I always assumed it was an environmental clean-up area from an old industrial site. Not sure why they built the nice roads with roundabout through it. The Western GeCo building that I remember was like a block or two east and south.
  21. Ha. I lived in those Portico apartments back in 2011.
  22. If I remember correctly, the Memorial City ones are even worse in that they have stop signs, completely destroying the advantages of the roundabout.
